  1. How long did it take you to conceive each of your children?
  2. How old were you?
  3. What form of birth control were you using when you got together with the child(ren)'s father?
  4. Have you had problems with recurrent miscarriages?

Answers from all, whether it was easy or hard to conceive! I'll explain the why's of the questions once I get a load of answers.

Hi Zebra are you going to let us in on your findings from our answers

Hulababy · 22/02/2004 10:09
  1. 14 months, then a m/c at 7 weeks, that 15 months (approx) for successful pregnancy
  2. started ttc at 26; as was DH
  3. pill
  4. Had one m/c at 7 weeks
zebra · 22/02/2004 13:55

Why I'm asking -- long time ago there was this article in the New Scientist about a study that had women sniffing hankerchiefs that had been stored under the arms of very sweaty men (blech!). Anyway, the study noted that women seemed to "prefer" the sweat of men with whom they (the women) had the most compatible antibodies. UNLESS the woman was on the BC pill, in which case she showed no pattern of preference. Presumably because the hormones were interfering with the women's own pheronome sensors? I always wondered if this could be a factor in (supposedly) increased infertility in recent years. Are women on the pill more likely to choose partners with whom they have infertility problems...? So many women are in the pill, plenty of babies conceived in spite of it! But maybe something will emerge out of the answers here. I'll summarise when I get a chance.
