So my last AF was 28th August for 3 days (they're always 3 days long). I was due 30th September but no sign of AF.
My cycles are on average 33 days long but vary between 29 and 35 days. I've been off the pill for a year. Prior to that I had been on the pill pretty solidly since I was 16. I'm now 30 years old my partner is 36 and this will be our first child.
I've had a couple of doctors appointments as I was getting concerned that a) we hadn't yet conceived and b) I had put on weight since coming off the pill and my understanding is that the opposite is normally true.
Anyway, she took blood on a very early cycle day and tested for hormone levels, rubella immunity and thyroid issues.
I went for my second appointment and was told that my thyroid is fine and I am immune to rubella. my hormone levels were 8.5 FSH and 7.5 LH. My doctor said that normally the LH level at the beginning of your cycle is slightly lower than FSH so that could be a very slight sign of PCOS but she wasn't particularly worried by the levels.
Nevertheless she referred me for an ultrasound at my local hospital and said she would look at putting me on metformin. She suggested I get my blood tested very early in my next cycle, then at 21 days, then at 28 days. I think the idea being that she wanted to see if I was ovulating.
The problem with that is that my AF hasn't showed up. So everything is on hold...
So anyway, I'm now at cycle day 51 and am 18 days over my average 33 day cycle.
I'm really hoping I am pregnant, as is my other half, but don't want to get too excited.
I've done two Internet cheapies about a week ago - both negative.
Symptoms - cramping (daily), aching back, yesterday I had such a bad headache in the afternoon and then felt very very sick, weird full/bloated feeling in my tummy, skin is horrible.
If you're going through the same thing let's buddy up and share/support each other.
Also, if you've been through this I'm keen to hear what you're outcome was.
