Lots of twinges neeko Grin Have had a couple of episodes of contractions lasting for 2/3 hours during the night but nothing for the last couple of days. Baby has definitely dropped though so we're hoping it'll happen soon!
Went for a scan today (37+3) and have got a sweep booked for next Tues, eek!

It was a bit more brutal than I anticipated! But it doesn't last long, hurts a little but I think it shocked me more than anything else, I was imagining a kind of smooth separating motion and it was more like scrubbing the dishes! I was exactly 40 weeks then though so I guess J was ready to come out anyway.

A sweep is exciting. I had one with DD1 and had her in my arms a few hours later. I believe, however, that a sweep will only work if your body is ready to give birth. As to pain. Honestly, it was quite uncomfortable but not painful if that makes sense. Might not be as uncomfortable since you have given birth before.
Are you all organised for the baby? What have you bought?

Ooh gosh, I'm such a wuss Blush I think she said she'd only be able to do it if my cervix was favourable, so am hoping these contractions are actual doing something!
I think we're organised neeko Confused Have just washed the maxicosi cover, and washed all the parts of the buggy so house looks like a laundry! Hospital bag is packed, got five days worth of mini clothes Grin, it just all seems a bit surreal. Btw, it's normal here to be in hospital for five days although I will try to come out after three for ds's sake (providing all is okay). I asked today and I can get a wifi code, so will update as soon as I can! Shall I text someone in the meantime so they can update the thread?
PS ds was so funny this evening - we were talking about the baby arriving, and he told me that apparently you only need to push three times for a baby to come out. Then he started showing me how to do it Grin Don't you just love the things kids come out with!

You sound very organised. I think 5 days being the norm sounds wonderful, although I understand why you'd want to get home. I'll bet DS is so excited and he'll be a great help too.
I'm happy for you to text me as I can update the thread from my phone.
Try to rest and relax as you wait. The next few months will be a sleepy, cuddle-filled blur. SmileSmile

Gah, neeko GrinGrin last time I just mentioned I was leaning on the small pants bench and next thing I knew I was pregnant so shhhh Grin...I dunno about no3 but I'll keep you posted if anything changes Wink

shroom so exciting about contractions!! Fwiw, I had about 5 sweeps with each of my ds' and they didn't do a thing! So I think neeko is right that it only works if your body is ready...but the contractions sound like your body is gearing up (I never had braxton hicks like that, just a few uncomfortable pains with ds2)...now acupuncture on the other hand! Ds2 was in my arms less than 12 hours after that Grin
Soooo excited to hear you news.

Ooh, ds2 has woken up and almost time to pick up ds1...another lovely school run in the rain awaits me!

Thanks neeko, will deffo text you Smile I am SO looking forward to all the cuddles and just sniffing the baby's head, we really want it out now!!!

Talking about coming out, I had contractions all through the night, couldn't get to sleep for ages and even then some of them woke me up as they were a tiny bit painful. Today I've had contractions regularly all day, at least one every ten mins I'd say. Over the last hour or so they are starting to hurt, and I have a sore lower back, yikes! I really hope this is the beginning of something but wouldn't be surprised at all if they just tail off. We shall see Smile

Contractions now reasonably painful and around 7/8 mins apart... DH coming home from work! Would be lovely if this was it, but think it'll probably end up tailing off just to tease us Smile Will keep you all posted!

Hi all. Came down this morning to this text from shroom that she sent last night.

"Just a quickie, ctx down to less than 5 mins apart so we're going into hospital to see if anything's actually happening! Still a little bit painful but not too much so who knows what's going on!"

Will update when I hear anything else. Exciting!

"Quick update, ctx got v painful until about 4am then stopped. Starting again now, am 3cm and going to be given induction medication in a couple of hours, yikes!!! Looks like we might be having a baby!!"
