Ahhh Thank you lovely ladies cloud blue & moon.. Smile I guess we all have our birth hang ups eh? It could be all consuming, but we can't let it be, & of course the main focus is our healthy gorgeous boy, especially with the other health concerns of the gestational diabetes and group b Strep that were hanging over us.. I've always stuck by there being no point in a birth plan as it's so unpredictable, but one thing I never envisaged was DH not being part of it.. I do feel devastated for him though he insists he's dealt with it and accepts it without any deep angst, but yes, did watch OBEM and how bizarre indeed that a similar super speedy induction meant that couples dh missed it Too! Almost identical! Off my Dh goes home at 10.45pm thinking Induction was being put off til the next day, unbeknown that theyd get a quiet moment and start me off at 1.45am, I sent a casual tx not expecting anything for hours, at 4 am contractions kick in thick & fast but im only 1cm, by 5.45am I'm screaming down the phone to dh to get there, he gets his mum round and gets to the hospital at 6.35am, Teddy came literally flying out at 6.30am! Confused At least he saw the placenta come out, bless him telling me to breathe and push trying to do his bit! You know it just helps talking about it.. Smile Love you ladies! Would of needed therapy a long time ago without you all! Smile

littlebellsmum · 07/03/2014 00:41

knock knock, anyone there? Which is a bit cheeky as I lurk more than post but still.

Hope everyone is well - loving the world book day costumes on Facebook - Sabs, I think you win the prize for the cutest Hermione ever, well not you but you know who I mean!

Lovely to hear baby news from SBoom and Mrs Kate getting near the 20 week mark :)

All good here - will be much happier when the builders have finished in a week or so - currently having to make very speedy decisions about tiles, bathrooms etc. Will be much happier when it's all done and we can settle in - as will the kids, big dc's love their new rooms and tiddler is very keen to get hers back as we've been in it for the last 5 months! Anyway, too late, need to go - sleep calls as I'll be up too early in the morning for work. Boo hiss - but then no work = no builders and that really wouldn't be good.

Hope all is good - see you all soon

moonmrs · 07/03/2014 09:33

Hi lbm I'm a-lurking too Smile sounds like you're very busy there, but it'll be all be worth it in the end.

4everhopeful · 07/03/2014 10:37

Helloooo I'm lurking too after I killed the thread last week! Grin

Bet you can't wait to get your house back to yourselves lbm?! How brill to have all the fun of new rooms and decorating without the hassle of a move though!

What did everyone's DC dress up as for book day? Summer was Dorothy from Oz, she is so obsessed with it! Thank goodness it was a book originally!

Big waves to moon & fellow lurkers x

All good here, birthday Tuesday, afternoon tea at posh hotel, lovely, Chinese tonight, last year of my thirties! Biggie next year!

Neeko · 09/03/2014 08:10

Hello all.
Didn't want 4ever to think she'd killed the thread again! WinkWink

LBM. The renovations sound amazing but I'm sure you'll be so glad when they are finished. Have you any holiday plans this year?

Rumours. How's everything? Has the operation improved sleep any?

Shroom. How's your gorgeous little girl doing? What does DS think of being a big brother now he's had a chance to get used to it?

Mrskate. Sorry to hear about your scare. Hope everything is going well now.

Moon. How's everything? Sorry to mention it but have you returned to work yet?

4ever. How's the teething going? Loved Teddy's nickname.

Blue. Hello lovely! How's everything? Those plates still spinning nicely?

Gah. Can't check back on the thread when I'm on the iPad and can't remember what else I wanted to say!BlushGrin

CloudOfStarlings · 10/03/2014 13:51

neeko back to work end of this month Sad really not looking forward to it at all. I don't want to leave my baby behind, I know dh is more than capable so its not that, but I just want to be at home with him. Its crazy that we tried so long for our ds, we have been comfortable with money and I would have been able to have a year off, and he comes along when we can least afford for me to stay at home. Sods law. I know I wont give a shit about work when I'm back there, but I don't want to be seen as incompetent either, it's so hard I don't know how you all manage it. And more than anything I don't want to resent dh for being at home with him and I frightened I might.

Neeko · 10/03/2014 17:50

Hi cloud. Rats to ds2 no longer napping. Hope you can get some evening time for greys. Season ten isn't as great as the others but still good. Smile

Moon. You will cope and it will all be fine. I promise. It will be hard and you will be sad but the trick is only to think of leaving him one day at a time. Remember you are teaching him that women are strong and can do lots of roles and he will learn that even when you leave, you ALWAYS come back. Smile
Try not to fret. We all make the decisions that fit our family best at the time. Maybe one day the roles will be reversed... Have a hug from me.

Neeko · 10/03/2014 20:03

Hi Rumours. Taking from your smiling face that you are ok, lurking and very busy SmileSmile

Rumours · 10/03/2014 21:12

Aye I am lurking and busy, or just knackered. Smile Smile

MrsKate · 10/03/2014 21:25

Hi girls just let you know I have been lurking too . Well nearly 20 weeks it's a week today untill we have scan and hopefully find out flavour?????? I'm so nervous and excited all at the same time

Neeko · 10/03/2014 22:25

Good luck MrsKate Smile

Knackered is my default setting Rumours GrinGrin

CloudOfStarlings · 11/03/2014 18:25

neeko thankfully ds2 does still nap most days just starting to refuse some days.. which is rubbish! Ds1 stopped naps at about 2y2m so I'm hoping I have a little time yet! I'm keeping ds2 in his cot as long as possible! ds1 was in a big bed by now cos of imminent baby arrival but definitely not encouraging it this time Grin
I'm all caught up on Greys :) absolutely love it still but you're right it's not as good! A certain favourite character of mine leaves at the end of the season too so am pretty gutted!

moon :( rubbish about work. Obviously I can't really speak from experience but it seems like people always dread it then find it's actually ok once they get into it.. but I know it seems so unfair you didn't get to have your year off :( will you be full time?
neeko is right about teaching him about women having different roles too :) good luck lovely x

Hi rumours :)

Wow 20 weeks MrsK the time is flying by Smile

I went and gave blood today then fainted, it was soooo embarrassing Blush, had to lie down with my legs up, thankfully they put screens around me. We put it down to exhaustion, don't know what I'm supposed to do about it though Hmm

I am sat with my feet up now and ds2 is putting tissues on my head and telling me to get well soon Grin. Need to shut the curtains before the neighbours see!!!

moonmrs · 11/03/2014 21:00

Yes going back full time, there isn't a part time option unfortunately, the job is too busy to be able to do it in less hours, plus we need the money. I know I need to stay for 6 months in order to not have to pay my CMP back, and after that I will look for something else. I don't mind working, but I would like a few less hours and something with less of a commute, currently an hour each way, means I have to leave the house at 7 and I get home at 6 on a good day. I just cant do that anymore.

Thanks neeko and cloud for thinking of the positives, it helps a little.

Flying visit, sorry, will try to post more soon. to everyone

CloudOfStarlings · 11/03/2014 21:14

Aww rumours poor you! I have really low blood pressure and am quite anaemic so was always really faint after giving blood..I've had to stop doing it now as I felt so ill the last couple of times.. don't be embarrassed though! You did an amazing thing :) and bless ds2!!

moon ouch, yeah commute doesn't help either as you'll just be desperate to get home every day I'm sure! Hope you can find something else perfect for all of you.

Hi girls
Scan was amazing all is well little monkey had cord between legs so bit unsure if pink or blue they think blue but not 100% sure xxx

moonmrs · 17/03/2014 14:28

Oh mrsk I'm so sorry I forgot to pop on to wish you luck, I cant remember a thing these days... So glad to hear all is well, yay for a happy and healthy bean, you must be so excited now Grin I do miss those days of utter excitement and looking to the future so happily, however I do not miss being pregnant at all! Hope you're managing ok and the sickness has worn off.

Hope everyone had good weekends and are all ok.

Neeko · 17/03/2014 17:41

Congratulations mrskate. Really glad all is well.

I'm good Moon. Bit of a bitter-sweet weekend here. We did some lovely family stuff but it was also the anniversary of my mmc. 5 years. Can hardly believe it. I always think I'll forget but I seem to just wake up knowing.
On the plus side I have lots and lots to be grateful for, plus it means I've known you lovely ladies for almost half a decade. Smile

moonmrs · 17/03/2014 20:33

Ah neeko have a big hug. I don't think you ever forget, its such a huge thing to go through both physically and emotionally. But you're right in that we've all made some great friends out of some sad situations. I never imagined you could make such good friends from a place like this, its amazing really how long we've all been here. I love this place, our little safe haven.

Rumours · 17/03/2014 21:31
Smile
SabsFabulous · 17/03/2014 23:28

Just popping in to give Neeko a hug. Its funny how certain things just creep back at you. I always remember dates relating to my miscarriage and normally come back on here to mark it as this is the place I know where you lovely ladies will understand what I'm going through. I discovered MN a month after my mmc, can't believe that it was 5 and a half years ago or half a decade as you put it Neeko!

Rumours hope you're feeling better and that you had a fab birthday.

MrsKate so happy to hear your scan went well Smile when's your due date ?

Moon how's your lovely boy doing? Hope your return back to work isn't too stressful.

Waves to Cloud 4ever Blue lbm and anyone else who happens to be lurking Smile

PS Confession time! I started to watch Grey's Anatomy for the first time ever in Oct/Nov last year! I'm sooo hooked! I'm currently on season 8 so should be caught up with you all soon Grin

Neeko · 18/03/2014 07:41

Thanks for the hugs! Smile I agree with Moon about this being our little safe haven.

Hi Rumours and happy belated birthday. ThanksWine

Sabs. Glad to hear you've joined the Greys-brigade. Sort of jealous that you have so many series to watch back-to-back!Grin

Preparation for the big birthday bash has begun here. Dd2 is four next week. She only mentions it once every five minutes or so!GrinGrin
