Come to the BESH funfair - we have a coconut shy, apple bobbing, dodgems and much much more. The prizes? Shiny new BFPs, of course. You can only go on the rides if you're a barren 30plus-er, the entrance fee is one completed BESHtionairre.

Yep, 2013 - don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out. Byeeeeee!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 01/01/2014 08:26

Much better years all round, I order! Hoping for an empty fred, cos all are diffed in 2014!

FizzyFeet · 01/01/2014 08:54

Happy New Year, luffly BESH! (and PESH and CRESH). Here's to a happier, more peaceful year with BFPs all round.

It is bugs. I didn't find it physcially hard (I've no problem with needles), but I hated the medicalisation of the process. KFZK hated seeing me stick drugs into myself too. We both found it horrible and just pushed through it somehow.

Also, you're downregging. The drugs make many people feel blue. That's quite normal. I had the extreme version. I'd inject in the evening, wake up feeling like the world was going to end, somehow drag myself through the day, start to feel slightly better by the evening, and then the whole cycle would start again. But many people feel a bit down on them.

evilgiraffe · 01/01/2014 18:42

Sometimes it hurts, yes. More often than not it doesn't, though - out of the fifty stabbings I did, only about five were painful. I did mine at a snail's pace - no idea if that prolonged it or made it less painful, though! It will be better tomorrow :) The drugs do mess with your head, although I found the hot flushes were the worst bit - but perhaps I had fewer side effects as a) I'd already been on downregging implants for three months so had got used to it, and b) I was on a slightly lower dose due to having an enthusiastic right ovary.

I found most of the stabs fine but some a bit ouchy. My top tip: try to make sure the needle goes in at a right angle. Short term pain, long term gain eh?

Droid is finally here and the weather too bad to exercise the cramps away, so am making do with the sofa and a hot water bottle. Watching Upstairs Downstairs and guess what - the main character is up duffed after m/c. Is there no escape?

Meeting cats tomorrow!

evilgiraffe · 01/01/2014 19:36

There really is no escape, fizz - even the sodding monster in Pacific Rim was pregnant...

FrankelInFoal · 02/01/2014 08:29

Euro lovely, is your scan today or tomorrow? I have post-Christmas brain and can't remember. Good luck with it, whenever it is.

eurochick · 02/01/2014 09:59

Tomorrow, frank. So I still have a bit more waiting to do.

MyNameIsWinkly · 02/01/2014 10:16

Waiting sucks. Are you at work today euro?

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 02/01/2014 11:31

Plaice of patience, euro. I am so wishing for a perfect scan tomorrow!

Bugs my DRing injections occasionally hurt and I bruised quite a bit as well. I used both tighs and belly as I didn't like injecting in a bruise. The miserable feeling can be a side effect. Take it easy and look after yourself. Can you hold on to normal-ish routines even these few days? Maybe walk the dogs at the set moment and break up the day in manageable portions?

And no fizz my comprehensive conclusion was eventually that EVERYONE and their dog or horse was diffed. Sorry. Have the salmon of solace and some gin on the couch!

Nokkie73 · 02/01/2014 11:43

The best of luck for tomorrow euro. What time are you in ? Xx

bugs I really hope the stabbing gets better. I hate injections but found the more I did, the less they hurt. The first few were hard though.

Happy new year to everyone else. I am really hoping that it's your year. God knows, you all deserve a fecking break. Xx

eurochick · 02/01/2014 11:55

I'm not working until Monday, winks. I was supposed to be visiting a friend today but she cancelled as she isn't feeling well. I need to find something to do to take my mind off things. At least the weather is good enough to leave the house today. Yesterday was vile!

noks not until 2pm. That was the earliest appointment they had.

My boobs are less hurty by the day. The nausea hasn't come back. The only "symptom" I still have is insomnia/disturbed nights. I think this is going the same way as the last one.

Euro I'm keeping everything crossed for you for tomorrow and would like to slide over the cod of calm to stroke.

Bugs, when you have your boss chat, don't get bullied into going back under the 'everything will be different, we'll support you' line. Your boss has already proved that it is not his natural way to be understanding and it will be a difficult time for you - I'm not sure if it is legal to kill annoying people when you're doing ivf (although I don't think it's an unreasonable request!) and what you don't want to have is a reason to blame yourself if it doesn't work (of course it WILL work, I'm just playing devil's advocate Wink). Of course you might find that keeping yourself busy is just the ticket but if you've been enjoying your time out then take as much of it as you can!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/01/2014 16:15

Euro will they also do your blood levels again tomorrow? The scan may be inconclusive because its early, no? Anyway toe hand holding. 1 final sleep

eurochick · 02/01/2014 17:02

bugs I hope this kind of needles will help. Having a routine sounds good.

fab thanks for the cod of calm. I need it at the moment!

merk not as standard (and they didn't offer them last time) but if there is any ambiguity about anything, I'm going to ask for tests. It's "only" £100 for the two tests - well worth it in terms of giving peace of mind.

evilgiraffe · 02/01/2014 17:45

All being well, will you be about six weeks, euro? Fingers crossed for a nice flickery heartbeat tomorrow :)

Everything fab said, bugs. Imagine us all growling like bulldogs at your dickhead boss if he starts up the wankbadger behaviour :)

FizzyFeet · 02/01/2014 18:00

bugs def don't go back until you are ready! Can they do a phased return? Going back FT after a while off can be quite stressful so a PT return, even for a week, might be good.

Successful meet with the cats today! They were a bit shy at first but warmed up after a while and some cat treats. We have just spent a small fortune in the pet shop on everything from beds to pheromone sprays. Yay!

Thanks bugs! They are grown up (aged 2 and 4) so hopefully won't have too much naughty behaviour Grin. I think we will keep the names they have, as they suit them. Won't say them on here for fear of outing myself!
