AF should have made an appearance over 2 weeks ago but still no sign of this happening. I have done two pregnancy tests but both say negative and both have been different brands of test! I have been off the pill now since March but not been actively trying to conceive and My periods are usually pretty regular, give or take a couple of days, so don't know what's going on. Any advice would be much appreciated x

Hi Lucas.

Stressful, eh?! Have you tried First Response? I think they say they react to HCG levels of 12, but some studies have shown they're actually sensitive to 6.5, so they're pretty much the best. Might be an idea because you could be one of the women who don't get a positive test for some time due to HCG levels being 'too' low or the way you metabolise HCG.

Failing that, you may have ovulated late this cycle, meaning that AF will appear late. Did you have any stress (working late/death in the family/money problems/yadda yadda) around ovulation time? Or did you start exercising harder or go on holiday/on a long journey?

...or it might still be your cycle settling down post-Pill. I know that probably sounds a little ridiculous given you've been regular since March, but the forums here are full of threads about women whose periods were fine for 3-6 months after coming off the Pill and then suddenly went haywire...

Sorry, cycles were fine for 3-6 months...etc

Hi RaRaz

Thanks for your reply. Still no sign of AF today but you have got me thinking about how I've been past couple of months. I have been under doctor for anxiety/stress and have quiet a stressful job, so that could have played a major part. Also took up jogging over the summer, so maybe all the exercise could have delayed things. Sooo frustrating. I shall just have to wait and see. Thanks again :) by the way one of the tests was first response, so I'm sure it's correct x

I am on CD 50 so know how you feel :) I have done one test and am resisting doing another one until cycle day 56 or 70.

I use these tests. They are the most sensitive ones there are and they are the ones the NHS use.
