keepswimming1 · 27/10/2013 18:04

mama31 - your so lucky, I wish I had shorter cycles. hop to it :)

Hibou7688 · 27/10/2013 18:06

Mama.. I'm probably ovulating in next couple of days..just checking with the cheapy OPKs. Only came off the pill end of August. Ideally (although i know not always poss!!) want to conceive between nov-feb. So will just lurk on here for now!

SaltySeaBird · 27/10/2013 18:10

Ooh lots of people waiting for BFPs in November. I'm temping and should be entering my most fertile period in the next few days (due to ov Wed).

Will have all the candles ready tonight for power loss and romance Grin

mama31 · 27/10/2013 18:13

Halfpint yes doing smep so not dtd until tomorrow as we dtd yesterday. Will be keeping a close eye on opks though as think ill get a pos opk tomorrow so prob dtd Mon, tue, wed skip thurs then will do Fri (and sat and sun just for fun since DH is off all next wkend:))

Keepswimming I know what you mean about short cycles but it is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster getting straight back in to it all again but I suppose better than waiting around. It's also a bit annoying coz I fear that I do not have long enough for implantation with a 23 day cycle but it seems I'm ovulating earlier this time so perhaps I will have a longer LP :) I hope!!

Hibou sounds like your on the right bus then :) any reason why you want to conceive nov-feb?? I've wanted to conceive a summer baby, I have another 2 shots at it so hoping for my bfp this time or next time (preferably this time!) but we will get what we get!!!! And will be very happy regardless!

Choccywoccydodah · 27/10/2013 18:38

So, I've just calculated my due date if I catch this month as 21st July Grin
I've got 3 more tries up til new year if I don't catch this month of cycles are similar, will be so gutted if I don't :(

Choccywoccydodah · 27/10/2013 18:39

Hibou, stick with us, you've caught the right bus Smile

coco808 · 27/10/2013 18:49

Sorry Choccy I'm rubbish at updating the lists! What will we do when you you, mama and disney join the antenatal thread Smile
Don't worry Choccy as someone pointed out earlier, statistically speaking your chances of conceiving this month are very high Smile fingers crossed

Choccywoccydodah · 27/10/2013 18:53

Thanks coco Grin

Hibou7688 · 27/10/2013 19:02

Yipee! Well i'm a teacher, and we generally like to carefully time maternity leave!! So i'm hoping for a late aug/sept/oct baby.. But if it doesn't happen i'll probably just keep trying anyways cos i'm expecting to become obsessed with it all!

skybluegirl33 · 27/10/2013 19:21

Hi all, hope I'm not too late to join this already packed bus???It seems that this a very fun filled bus with lots of lovely ladies on it. Also, it will be my first bus too! (ttc#1 cycle 4 BFP due 27th November)

mama31 · 27/10/2013 19:24

Welcome sky and good luck!!! :) prepare to get crazy....we tend to influence that here! haha!

Missvaughan85 · 27/10/2013 19:29

Oh ladies, I'm missing you all over on the oct bus, feels like the driver had left us and were waiting for a new one. Af has still not arrived, but had bfn this morning, I'm just hoping its bit another af from hell like last month, are you expecting any early bfp's this month?? Fx to you all x

barmybunting · 27/10/2013 19:41

Lots of new faces, it looks like the seats are filling up as we move towards Nov properly Smile.

I'm having a debate - to poas before AF is due or not poas before AF is due?

This is the first cycle I have been in with a chance, so I'm half curious to give it a go but reading about bfn, I'm not sure it sounds like much fun or a habit to get started on!

I'm dpo7 or so today, AF is due sometime between thurs (wed possibly but I doubt it) & sun I reckon dependant on LP. DH is away until Friday eve so I should probably wait but there again... It's too early at this stage, but won't be later in the week.

mama31 · 27/10/2013 19:49

Barmy I'm usually up for testing early but after 4 cycles of disappointing bfn's I'm changing my tactics and will not be testing early anymore! So I think wait it out at least a few more days!

Choccywoccydodah · 27/10/2013 19:51

Barmy I'd wait til at least 12dpo. I'm not testing til at least then from now on (if the spotting and af stay away!)

barmybunting · 27/10/2013 19:58

I think that's exactly it mama and choccy - there is enough stressing in this ttc business anyway without adding unnecessary bfn to it anyway!

Friday should be 12dpo, so a good day to stick it out to - hopefully DH coming home will distract me from that as well so I can string it out to the weekend or later.

I'm a teacher on half term... in some ways, thank god I go back to work tomorrow because there is way to much time to debate these things when on holiday without actually being away!

skybluegirl33 · 27/10/2013 19:59

I'm thinking crazy already mama, my DH and I are both off work when I'm due to ovulate this month so are preparing for quite a session of dtd plenty of times at my most fertile time!!!!

Barmy, are you temping as well? I've found that this helps me prepare for AF arriving as my temp drops so I don't send myself mad of thinking could I be/maybe I'm not pregnant. It's so hard to decide whether to pee or not to pee though!

barmybunting · 27/10/2013 20:09

sky, I'm not temping for this cycle. I was for a couple of cycles when I came off the pill, but haven't this cycle (our first valid chance at ttc). To be honest, I would prefer to be temping as I find it makes me feel better knowing more about what is going on, but DH was away when I was temping before although he knew I was, and I stopped when he got back from deployment as at this stage, we have the theory that we would rather not be adding that in as it feels like more stress.

That isn't really working for me though. I think if this isn't the month, I need to chat to him about starting again as my cycle is pretty irregular still since coming off the pill in July, so I would be better temping to know what is going on.

You have given me an idea though, I am just going to temp this week whilst he is away and that would show me the dip pre AF if she's on her way(which previous cycles did) although it won't show any previous details for the cycle - saves me POAS too early as I'd really like to string it out until after dpo13 or 14.

Thanks!

skybluegirl33 · 27/10/2013 20:18

This is my second cycle of temping and have now got into the habit if doing it now finally, it is difficult to start doing at first.

I've decided that I will only POAS if my temps stay elevated and don't drop before AF is due around 13/14 dpo. That way I'm not wasting money and emotions on HPTs!

Good luck and fx for you too!

barmybunting · 27/10/2013 20:35

Yes, it took me a good while to get any sense out of it for the first cycle. My second cycle then took 50+ days for AF to show, so I had plenty of time to get into the habit and work out the charting a bit more Smile.

Thanks, I'll see where this month gets me to and then probably continue temping for next cycle. Although I'm hoping it won't be necessary, but a plan is good!

Good luck!

Howly · 27/10/2013 20:49

Hi, this is really scary actually typing in one of these forums instead of lurking!!!

This is our first time ttc, so completely new and now a little bewildered by ovulation and dates!

I, like Hibou, am a teacher and would like to have a September / October baby - I know this kind of planning is not always realistic but that's what we would like!

So wondered if someone could help- We were planning to start ttc in December going on the notion that the ladies in my family catch easily which would make my due date sept - but should I start trying sooner?
What other things should I be doing? I'm already at a healthy weight, active and in good health (apart from a recently removed appendix)!

mama31 · 27/10/2013 21:02

Howly I thought coming off the pill in July that I'd be pregnant in August or September! It has not happened! I would say get cracking as it does not always go as we would hope or think it might! All the ladies in our family seem to catch quickly too and I did first time around but I'm on to my 5th cycle now and wish I'd started sooner!

LH1981 · 27/10/2013 21:45

Hi Howly, I agree with mama - just go for it! You never know how it's going to go. If it's really important to you, then no harm in waiting a few months just to give it your best effort for a Sept baby, but just bear in mind that it may take a little longer.

Think I'm going to do another IC in the morning, seeing as I still have about 20 left! I'll be 10dpo. FX!
