Your last thread got somewhat derailed so I thought I would treat you to a lovely shiny new place full of real open fires, fluffy blankets and an aga for baking bread and warming soups and stews. Back on with the job in hand ladies, lets have a round up of who's doing what and when.

Welcome back cake! Must have been a hard decision to put ttc on hold, but great that you're ready again now! Brooking for you that your bfp is just around the corner! And waves to too! What a stressful and devastating time you had. Brooking for a smooth journey this time.

stacks that's so lovely your ds was born on Christmas Day! What a wonderful Christmas present! I was speaking to a lady at work who has 2 dc's, and she said she took 15 months to conceive dc 1 and so ttc dc 2 fairly quickly after for the same reasons as you, and got her bfp after 2 months! So you never know, could be quick for you this time around!

Would you suggest I just ask my gp for day 3 and 21 bloods to begin with? Or is there anything else? I had a blighted ovum miscarriage years ago and it's occurred to me recently that I wasn't checked to make sure everything had returned back to normal after. Does anyone think it's worth asking for some sort of scan??

Pie sounds yummy keep. I really should diet, but there's so much nice food waiting to be eaten!

Sounds like your DH is very positive and thoughtful geek. And great news about his job! Woohoo! Luckily my DH is willing to do whatever it takes to ttc too. I bought him some vitamins which he takes when he remembers and he is overly interested in the opk's and constantly asks how dark is the line today etc Confused Better than having to do them in secret/arguing about doing them I guess. And he's willing to do a sa test if the gp recommends it. Oh and geek kit kat chunky peanut butter are amazing! DH once bought me a whole box full when they were difficult to get hold of

I think you should go for the interview cups. An interview doesn't mean you need to decide on anything definite, and gives you longer to think what to do. If you don't go you may regret it.

Good luck with the house hunting maybe!

Thanks for the warm welcome fox lovely to meet you :) It was a really hard decision which I regretted at times but I'm glad to be back to it now! Glad to hear your dh is fully invested in the ttc - asking to see the lines your urine has made on an opk certainly qualifies! we are trying to be a bit calmer about the whole thing this time har har I went a bit crazy with temping, opks etc last time, trying to hold off that for at least the first couple of months!

Cake!!! Welcome back, I remember you well and have wondered how you were getting on. Glad to hear your back to ttc. I'm brooking for a super quick BFP Smile

Fox I would expect the GP to sort you out a scan as basic tests anyway so I would definitely mention it.

Geek it sounds like you and MrG have a foolproof plan Grin

Stacks I'm brooking you will be one of those that gets pg really quick second time around x

Smegs good to see you. Yep that was me in Rome. It was awesome Smile
The food and drink was so good I put on half a stone!

Thanks for all the reassurance about going for the interview. I've gone from feeling guilty to being desperate to get the job. I need lots of brooking please! I've had the day off today after working all weekend. I've been busy reading lots of policies and updating my portfolio.

Yes cake, it's definitely good to be relaxed about it if you can. I've not tried temping, but the opk's have been good for the past 2 or 3 months just to check when I ovulate. And I find them kind of fun, something to wee on do to while away the month! Grin

Exciting about the interview cups! Glad to hear you're going for it and brooking for you that you're successful (although I'm sure you don't need it). And thanks for the advice. Do you think I should I request a scan when I go for my first appointment anyway then?

CakePigeon · 30/09/2013 18:35

cupcakes hello! That is so lovely of you to think of me Thanks I hope you're doing ok? Your interview sounds really exciting best of luck! What is it for? You shouldn't have any guilt about going for a job you want, I'm a complete believer in being happy at work - we spend so much blinking time there!

fox I'm totally not the expert but if you think a scan would put your mind at rest then you might as well ask I reckon.

Cake! How lovely to have you back! I'm not TTC, I finally got my brooking baby 9 months ago, so with DD as well, that's me done! Best of brooking to you!

Cups, the new job possibility sounds ace and I agree you should go for it Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/09/2013 19:48

Sounds like you e had a busy day of researching Cups. When's the interview?

Fox it really depends what your PCTs policy is. Mine would only do day 3 and day 21 bloods along with MrMs sperm sample. They wouldn't do anything else until they had these results back. But that's enough to be getting on with in the meantime. The positive OPKs suggest you're ovulating nicely though!

Cake it's good to hear about your relaxed approach Wink. But we brookers are here to keep you sane ish Grin

You're right Cake I was. Very long story, but I quit as my boss was a twat. But I've left with an mPhil so that's ok. I'm a medical writer now, though I'm currently signed off due to hyperemesis!

Tell us what's new with you Smile

Sorry for being absent, I'm just feeling very pessimistic about this IVF attempt. Getting pregnant normally and even succeeding with IVF just seems like something that happens to other people. I'm off to the gym soon so I hope that will make me feel a bit happier. I'm not sure if its just teh DRing drugs affecting my mood, but I was OK last time (but then I had hope thta it might work then!)

Sorry for being all me me me.

Report
NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/10/2013 14:58

Beedle don't you dare apologise. It's completely normal to feel like you are. And your hormones are taking such a battering, and you will be feeling more vulnerable. I don't care what people say, it is impossible to feel positive during an IVF cycle, and I think indulging in your worries and dealing with them can be more beneficial than just putting a brave face on it. We are all here as your sounding boards.

Now, go and beat the gym up and have a relaxing evening x

It might work, beedle. There's no reason why not. Just keep chugging on with it all. Any news on starting stimms?

Just cos you can't imagine it doesn't mean it won't happen. The gym sounds like a great plan x

Report
Fox82 · 01/10/2013 21:16

beedle there's no reason why it won't happen for you. You're having a tough time, and it's completely understandable you're feeling the way you do, but brooking so hard for you Thanks

Report
BeedlesPineNeedles · 02/10/2013 07:11

Thanks maybe, keep & fox I do feel a bit better today. DRing will continue for another week or so, they're going to call me on Monday to tell me when to start stimming, but I don't think I'll start before Wednesday. I suppose I just feel so helpless, I want to do something that will improve our chances but there isn't really anything I can do.

ControlGeek · 02/10/2013 08:04

beedle lovely you are completely normal to feel the way you do. Your comment about it only happening to other people really struck a chord when I read it. It's exactly how I feel too. You are already doing everything you can to make this succeed - it's just the sniffer dogs making you feel that you aren't. My clinic told me they'd had people in the past who had reacted badly to the dr drugs, to the point they didn't feel it was worth carrying on, and gave up on their ivf cycle at that point but then regretted it once the drugs were out of their system and the feelings passed. Brooking that this just means that the sniffer dogs are doing their work, because we all believe this is your cycle.

too I'm so sorry to hear your history, and am brooking for a quick and highly uneventful pregnancy for you this time round.

cake I remember you - I was geeklette back then, but I think our times may only have overlapped slightly and possibly it was when I was still lurking, prior to posting Lovely to have you back, and brooking for you too.

I'm so useless, I can't remember a thing anyone else has said Blush 'Tis early in the morning though. No news here, other than MrG has lost 10lb in 4.5 weeks

Glad to hear your feeling a bit better today Beedle. It's hard to know if it's the DR that's causing you to feel a bit low seeing as it didn't seem to affect you last time. I know how hard it is to think positive after a failed cycle. Just keeping telling yourself the first cycle is like a rehearsal. The odds of it working first time are not great. There is no reason why it won't work this time x

Maybe my interview is on Tuesday, hopefully it won't take too long as I'm working the late shift. Cake it's for a job in a health visiting team.

Kitty have you had your scan yet?

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better Beedle. You will get your brooking baby... and in the meantime we'll all be here helping boost your spirits during the darker days.

Cups, the interview sounds very exciting! Good luck (in case I forget to say it before Tues! ).

Cake, I remember you! Welcome back. Once a brooker, always a brooker... :-)

Rubber, you say you can't TTC until the summer.. but is there any reason why you couldn't be pregnant on your course? Wink I realise I'm playing devil's advocate here and you probably have many reasons. My project commits me until July, but there's no reason why I couldn't do it while pregnant, hence TTCing later this year..

Hurrah, it's October! Smile

After the sickness I had with dd there is no way I could risk it. I could barely leave the bathroom for 9 weeks and if the same happened again I would probably end up failing the course as I would either miss the exams or the lessons learning what is needed for the exams. Fingers crossed we can take the exams a bit earlier if the class is ready as they are online and the course tutor decides when you take them.
