Your last thread got somewhat derailed so I thought I would treat you to a lovely shiny new place full of real open fires, fluffy blankets and an aga for baking bread and warming soups and stews. Back on with the job in hand ladies, lets have a round up of who's doing what and when.

Blimey, look at all the returnees! You gluttons for punishment Grin bullets, I won't be coming back to ttc either, but permanently for me. Not because I don't want to, but because my fertility issues mean that it's practically impossible Sad

And also I'm incredibly blessed with having the DDs. Just because I'd always seen myself as having 3 (or 4!) children in my daydreams, doesn't mean that dreams can't change.

Wishing lots of joy and luck to all you lovely brookers, especially for those whose journey is/has been longer and more painful. Thanks

Oh, and go for the job, Cups! Was that you in Rome recently? I saw the pic on that there book of faces Looked like fun!

Why on earth has he got you doing that (or is it best not to ask Wink) Grin

I'd love to say it's best not to ask, but it's just for scones. He thought it would be more fun than getting the electric mixer out Confused

Grin Geek! And may I ask what he was doing whilst you were working up a sweat??!!

Report

ROFL @ hinks

Maybe he was slurping beer and watching DVDs Grin When I handed over the half-finished whipped job, he relented and got the bloody electric mixer out after all grrrr! Lovely scones though. We had bramble jelly to top them off.

Had ourselves a mini beer festival in the garden yesterday, some nice bottles and a ploughmans-style picnic.

MrG really seems to have taken our final IVF shot to heart at last. Yesterday was our last big alcohol blow-out, we now have a definitive list of days on which we are allowed alcohol between now and IVF. He is losing weight nicely on the 5:2 diet, and has suggested getting new undies to let the air circulate more. He's just started with the cold I had last week, unfortunately, and I've warned him it's the last one he's allowed to have before IVF otherwise I'll make him sit on ice packs to keep his swimmers cool.

Oh Geek it sounds like you're both so positive. I have such good feeling about this, I really do. When will they let you know about when you can start?

Report
ControlGeek · 29/09/2013 16:47

maybe I really hope so. I feel like we are back in control a little bit again, making what changes we can. MrG has set himself a massive weightloss target but seems supermotivated and is on course to hit it by christmas. I have to call again in the second week of october to find out whether I can start dring in Nov or Dec.

I made an Apple and last-blackberries-of-the-year pie last night. Ready made pastry though so no way would I hand whip cream!! Glad you're so positive geek! And so are we on your behalf. :)

Hello again everyone. Just spent a while reading back. Sorry I've not commented to everyone, just focused on a few things as I'm on my phone typing one handed while holding a sleeping DS.

Firstly, thank you all for the lovely welcome back. It's great to be back with you all, though I wish it was on the grads thread. xxx

Fox my DS is just over 9 months, born on Christmas Day! It took us 18 months TTC to get him, so as we'd ideally like a small age gap we've decided to TTC #2 now. AF came back for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I think I'm now in the 2ww. I'm feeling quite hopeful it won't take forever again, as my problem before seems to have been blocked tubes. One is still totally blocked, the other was probably opened up by a HSG (procedure injecting dye through the tubes to check for blockages). We also have some male factor issues though, so it might still take a while. Of course brooking will help no end :)
I hope your headaches are better now? Good luck with your dr appointment too, maybe go in and ask for some specific tests for get to do for you, so she doesn't have to think for herself?

Happy MrG passed geek, I hope you enjoyed the celebrations :)

Maybe we're thinking of trying to move soon, though I'm finding it all quite daunting now we have to think about schools and catchment areas etc!

Cups thinking of you and wishing you luck with the appeal. Brooking they're in touch soon with a positive result!
If you like the idea of this new job, I think you should go for the interview at least. It's important to do a job you want to do, so much of your life is spent at work.

It's crazy how soon you have to think about schools isn't it Stacks!

Am brooking very hard that you'll have an easier run of things this time. Is it exciting starting again?!

waves hello all, I'm not sure if people will remember but I was part of the brooking thread about two years ago. I remember generic and maybe and solars and if others were there too and I have forgotten you I'm very sorry!

DH and I were ttc #1 for about 10 months and then we stopped as I got a new job and the career opportunity was just too good to miss but meant that I wasn't able to ttc until my job was more secure. Well we are finally in a place to ttc again and I threw away my pills over the weekend so the obvious next step was rejoining the thread as you all gave me such wonderful support last time, I really wouldn't want to go through it alone this time!

so hello and Cake to all :)

I think I remember you Cake I was stasi back then.. I'm sure we can figure out how to get you on the fb group if you're interested. I think it's a secret group so you need to make friends with someone or get an invite by telling someone your real name in a pm.

Hi cake welcome back. How annoying to have had to take a ttc break, but I'm brooking it'll be swift this time. We don't know each other, but I am still here brooking for everyone, though nearly 32 weeks preggers after ivf, and next to sneeze. You can never have too many people brooking for you :)
