Your last thread got somewhat derailed so I thought I would treat you to a lovely shiny new place full of real open fires, fluffy blankets and an aga for baking bread and warming soups and stews. Back on with the job in hand ladies, lets have a round up of who's doing what and when.

Well done on taking the relaxed approach and not weeing on anything cake Grin

Let us know how it goes telling your family too! Bet they'll be so excited! We're only going to tell parents and siblings now, then might end up telling close friends before the 12 week mark due to Xmas and New Years.

How's everyone else?

musicalmrs · 18/11/2013 21:40

Cake - nope! None of them like me! I was going to temp this time round, but have decided it's pointless - if I remember correctly you need to take your temperature after something like 5hrs uninterrupted sleep? I seem to remember struggling to do it last time, let alone now with a teething DD waking me up! So I'm just using them for a few notes at the moment.. and will pay more attention to them once AF has paid a visit and I have some idea what's going on inside my body. I've also been good and not bought any sticks - I have one in the house Grin. I am on a mission to see if I can find any CBD on offer at some point though, to add a couple to my rather pathetic collection...

Would be quite nice to know what my body's doing mind. Have felt quite crampy on and off for the last couple of days - ovulating? AF imminent? No clue..

Aww telling them will be exciting Too! I haven't imagined how we'll do it yet. DH today was using foam letters to spell things on the bath today - he spelt out Mummy and Daddy, DD's name, the cats' names, and then put "Bump" - which I thought would make a rather good photo! Told him it was a bit preemptive though. Bless him, he's very into it this time round, which is very sweet but I worry about him getting his hopes up too quickly!

Getting PG around this time must be tricky - all the Christmas and NY events to negotiate while alcohol free!

Should stop having fun on MN and get back to my huge amount of work..

ControlGeek · 19/11/2013 15:06

fox ahhh that's so lovely! You must have a will of steel to not tell him before he asked about the stick though, and very wd on not telling your mum when she asked about the next steps, too!

good luck with your announcement too :)

musical I have very disturbed sleep due to insomnia. I find as long as I take my temp at the same time each day (give or take 10 mins or so) it gives me a pretty accurate overview. This only works if you haven't eaten/drunk anything/brushed your teeth/spoken in the last five minutes or so though, so still may be impractical for you with your lo.

My CBFM auction ended today. I just had to share that it was won by someone with the surname of 'Cumming'. I know, I know, we are all adults and are above being amused by names. But still.

farfallarocks · 19/11/2013 15:28

Just popping in with some Champagne to congratulate all the brooker BFPs, yay!!!

Joins in with sniggers. I once temped for a guy called Barry Mycock, middle name John. So the cheque book said BJ Mycock. Kept me sniggering all through the summer holidays every time we did a cheque run Grin

My body has gone skitz again, cd33 today, BFN this mourning though brookers so don't go getting your hopes up, I'm not. In fact just the opposite, i have been drinking red wine with gay abandon to keep out the cold donchaknow

Pretty sure longer cycles mean onset of the dreaded change ffs I'm only 36 Sad

musicalmrs · 19/11/2013 19:18

Oooh that's good to know Geek, thanks! I should be able to manage that. Grin at that name!

Far how wonderful to see you! Hope all is going well with you?

Scarlett, I'm sure the longer cycles are nothing to worry about. Brooking that you find out what your body's up to soon though.
Very crampy here this afternoon/evening. AF? Ovulating? Only time will tell I guess.. would be happy with either. Would just be nice to know something's going on in there Grin

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/11/2013 13:40

Surely not, Scarlett! My cycles were ranging from 30-37 days in the last few months and I'm only just 30. Mum's 47 and hasn't been through the menopause yet so I don't think there can be any connection.

Grin at Geek and Scarlett and the names. I knew a girl at school whose surname was Wanklin. Unsurprisingly she changed it by deedpoll when she turned 18!

Brooking that Musical's crampiness has a reason! implantation

ScarlettInSpace · 20/11/2013 18:58

The thing is too before IVF all my cycles were textbook 27/28 days. Between the 2 IVF cycles they all dropped to 26, then since the 2nd one earlier this year they have been 30/25/36/37/28/24 & now this one I'm cd34 and counting.

There are days I wish I'd never tried IVF, all it's done is fuk me up mentally and physically with nothing to show for it At the end Sad

Anyway the plus side is I must be due on any day if I'm this grumpy! I'm so bad OH is buying me Nandos takeaway for tea!

Sorry am very mememe at the moment, I think I need wine with my nandos Wink

Hope you are all ok and in better moods than me

CakePigeon · 20/11/2013 19:09

I'm sorry to hear you are feeling so down scarlett I hope your wine and nandos helps... I bloody love nandos :)
if you hadn't tried ivf at all I guess you might wondering 'what if'? Might your cycles settle back down eventually?

Hope the cramping is something positive happening musical!

AF has buggered off so time to get dtd-ing soon, hope my lurgy gets better before I have to subject DH to all the snot Grin bit of an over share...!

ControlGeek · 20/11/2013 19:29

(((Massive hugs))) to scarlett my cycles went a bid mad after IVF too. I hope they settle down for you soon, it might just need a little more time after the mega-high hormone doses you had on your last round xxx

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/11/2013 19:44

Oh Scarlett lovely. I'm sorry you're feeling shite. Hope that wine and chicken hits the spot x

Good news that AF has gone Cake. Get thee to the bedroom or kitchen, lounge

Musical how are those cramps?

How you feeling now Geek lovely?

musicalmrs · 20/11/2013 21:02

Scarlett I hope the Nandos has helped. And the wine. Lots of hugs your way. So many hormones in your body, as Geek says :(

Too early for implantation Too I'm sure!

They're a bit better, but still feel rather odd Maybe. Wish I had some sort of way of knowing what's going on in there..

Feeling rather AF-y, but no sign as of yet. Perhaps ovulation? So clueless..

ControlGeek · 20/11/2013 21:12

Cold, maybe, but that's because I have a knackered boiler Grin Bit nervous about tomorrow tbh but I'll get over it. Mostly scared for if/when the side effects hit me. I've heard it can take at least a month with prostap though.

too Hope you are not reading this because you and MrT are far too busy doing other things

musical I hope you and MrM are also getting acquainted with each other Wink my first twinges each month are around ovulation time.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/11/2013 21:22

I will be thinking of you lovely Geek. Brooking like billio that the side effects steer clear of GeekTowers. That sucks about the boiler. It's so bloody cold.

I also wish we could have a window into our insides Musical! Brooking things return to normal soon

musicalmrs · 20/11/2013 21:30

Geek Brooking like mad for you tomorrow. Rubbish indeed about your boiler. Are lots of jumpers in force there at the moment? :)

Good to know about ovulation twinges. I don't think I've experienced them before - or not noticed them. I'm feeling a bit odd generally - think it's my body going "She's giving us a chance! GO GO GO!". I hope so at least.

Maybe think the window would be even more interesting during pregnancy!

Fox82 · 20/11/2013 21:53

scarlett I hope you enjoyed your nandos and it's made you feel a little better. I can only imagine how draining ivf is, and hope your cycles settle down

musical I hope the cramping is something positive for you

cake get dtd!! Grin

geek what is going on for you tomorrow? Sorry if I've missed something Blush but hope all goes smoothly tomorrow and hope your get the boiler sorted! It's so cold!!

ControlGeek · 21/11/2013 07:39

Morning brookers!

Well, today's the day round 2 starts for me, though it will be a bloody long round. They hope to start me on stims early to mid January, I may know more after today's appointment.

fox I have my first injection of down regulators (drs or down regs) today, to shut my system down and put me in a false menopause before they start giving me drugs to stimulate my ovaries to produce eggs.

Had to test this morning, BFN obvs. No sign of AF though - trust her to decided to screw me over one last time. Did a CBFM stick, too, like I used to do when I was due, and the oestrogen line is pretty high. It's normally quite dark for a couple of days before AF is due to land.

Boiler repair guy is coming back at midday today (just hope I'm back from the clinic in time!) and reckons it will take at least 5 hours to fix, but that it is fixable. Yes, very very cold here though nowhere near as bad as it could have been. Lots of jumpers, socks and slippers being brought into play by me. MrG hasn't actually noticed that it's cold because he's a hardy northerner with a constitution of an ox and is still wandering around in shirt sleeves (and sometimes even shirtless!!!)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 21/11/2013 08:51

Brrr Geek. Good luck today lovely. Hope the appointment goes well and that give you a better idea of when you can start stimming. 2014 is going to be a good year for the brookers. I can feel it in my waters Wink

musicalmrs · 21/11/2013 10:58

Good luck today Geek- hope it's going well. Good luck for your poorly boiler too- hope it gets fixed nice and quickly!

ControlGeek · 21/11/2013 12:37

musical I've now got images of a whole army of follicles growing in regimented rows, with a drill sergeant at the front Grin

scarlett hope you are feeling better now, and that you enjoyed your Nandos treat. I had MrG take me for a McD's after my injection this morning because I was brave and didn't cry

Thank you for all the good luck wishes, it all went very smoothly via a bloody mahoosive needle, into my bum! It has to be administered by the clinic or a GP, so once I've collected my next injections I can book a local appointment rather than having to go all the way to the clinic again.

There seems to be a little confusion over the drugs charges though - when I asked the clinic pharmacist if I could pay there and then or would they invoice, she said her system had told her there was zero balance to pay! I'm going to give it a couple of weeks to see if I get an invoice, but I may not have to pay for my down regs Grin [hopeful]

Boiler engineer is here, and will be here for some time! I'm holed up in the kitchen diner with the heater and my laptop so I am confident I will survive Grin

ControlGeek · 21/11/2013 13:45

Meant to also say that MrG is such a trooper, he takes everything in his stride and is unphaseable. He didn't even bat an eyelid when the nurse asked me if I minded if she did a pregnancy test, since AF hasn't arrived yet and I replied 'Oh, no need, here's one I did earler...' and whipped a ready-peed-on FRER out of my handbag Grin Blush

NoMaybeAboutIt · 21/11/2013 14:25

Oh Geek glad it went well. How do these injections work? I'm guessing they're different to buserilin?

ControlGeek · 21/11/2013 15:04

Yes maybe they're quite long term, each injection lasts a month so thankfully I only need three in total. They're pretty pokey though. The nurse said it was possible I might start to feel side effects as early as one week from the first jab. I'd read it could take a month or two, so will steal MrG's desk fan at work to cope with any sudden hot flushes I may get. I have also been warned off about sudden bouts of anger and mood swings!!! Thankfully MrG was in the room and heard that from the nurse, so he won't think I'm making it up Grin

ControlGeek · 21/11/2013 15:12

Ooooh also completely forgot to say the scan went really well - no cysts have recurred on the ovary that had the endometrioma, and my fibroid hasn't grown any further from what it was during my last IVF round. Lining looked thick but that's to be expected as AF's late due. Uterine cavity and cervix are clear, nothing visible that could cause an issue with ET. Good ovary is perched on top of my womble again, but no cause for concern because it bounced around a lot last time and dropped nicely in time for EC.

Sorry for the IVF abbreviations, fingers too cold to type more than I have to!
