I keep an eye on this thread to see bfps from everyone I remember from the June and August buses and just wanted to weigh in on the anti-pregnacare bandwagon! I took it during my last pregnancy and it exacerbated my (hideous) nausea and vomiting a lot! I stopped taking them and improved very quickly - this time I'm taking the free Healthy Start vits from midwife (fa, vit d and c) plus extra b6 and although suffering, have not vomited nearly as much as I had done by this stage last time around! So I would recommend staying away from pregnacare!

Good luck to all Flowers

internationallove985 · 28/09/2013 15:08

I'm going to have baby. I got my B.F.P earlier on today. I can't put into words how exited I feel. I only tested with a cheap one from the pound shop but it showed 2 lines. I wish I could fast forward to June when I can hold and cuddle my little miracle. I'm seeing my can I say D.P again later on as my D.D is staying in her friends and I've decided to tell him tonight as it's not something I can keep to myself and the longer I wait the harder it will be. I just hope he shares my joy but if not this baby will certainly not lack for anything,so it seems that he has not had the snip after all. I know this might seem very previous but I've been looking at prams today. As well as being over the moon I'm also a bit neveous. I just hope everything is okay.
I'm looking forward to a long weekend as I'm off work till Tuesday. I'm taking D.D out for a meal tomorrow as I've not see her all over the weekend. xxx

Hi again everyone! I've just come back to see all the excitement...congrats to all the BFP's...cupcakes wispa choccy international ....sorry if I have missed anyone
Still 3 more days to go, so I am excited to find out more..
I've stil not managed to get on the october bus...ttc has started to put a lot of strain on me. I constantly feel i think about it obsessively and read paper, journals etc...

Anyway, regarding pregnacare...I've been off the pill for 9 months. I alternated taking pregnacare and not. Had normal 34 cd when not taking pregnacare. But loads of spotting and 3-5 days late when taking. Spoke with a gynacologist friend about it and she confirmed my doubts. So for those of us with long cycles, maybe we should try another brand. My gynae friend has suggested folic acid 400mg alone is sufficient with a healthy diet (save for a few takeaways Grin).

Good luck everyone...I will keep lurking. Gilly you have given me a lot of inspiration to chill. I am going to really try from today.

internationallove985 · 28/09/2013 15:50

Hi coco. Thankyou. I hope everything works out for you as well. I was very chilled ttc I didn't use any opks. xxx

monkette · 28/09/2013 16:19

GillyBillyWilly · 28/09/2013 17:07

Congrats international Thanks
Good luck telling your fella....

PurpleGeekyGirl · 28/09/2013 17:09

Coco thanks for the info from your gynae friend I'll avoid them in future I think!

m33r · 28/09/2013 17:18

Congrats international!

Choccywoccydodah · 28/09/2013 17:19

Congrats international. Would love to be a fly on the wall........!

Polkadot1 · 28/09/2013 17:38

Congrats international- looking forward to hearing how the conversation goes! ??- good luck- hopefully he'll be happy- even if it takes a few days to get used to the idea.

Coco- thanks for the pregnacare info- I'll save it for if/when lucky enough to have bfp- presumably it's ok then? I've bought a Boots combined folic acid/ Vit D, so will start that tomorrow!

NeuroticSweetTalk · 28/09/2013 18:05

Evening ladies, I went out today and got a FRER and a CB digi today for when I eventually get my BFP.

Congrats International :)

ThoraNomiki · 28/09/2013 18:17

Congratulations International. Good Luck telling your friend. I do believe it takes 2 to tango so even if you were hoping to get pregnant and he wasn't it is still 50% his baby

GillyBillyWilly · 28/09/2013 18:53

I need advice ladies!

I'm 12dpo so obviously hoping for a bfp next week/in the next few days.

If I don't get a bfp and AF comes, the next time I'm in my 2ww will be whilst I'm in disneyland! (Unless I ovulate early next month but I don't think that's likely...)

So what do I do?! Should we keep trying or stop for a month?
I don't really want to stop... Want to carry on and get my bfp!

If we keep trying then there will be a chance I am pregnant (1-2 weeks) whilst in disneyland.... so does that mean I shouldn't go on any rides?

We are going with family so people will be suspicious if I don't go on rides... Infact it will look totally weird because I love roller coasters!

Arrgghhhhhhhh what to dooooo?

If I get a bfp next week I will tell my DH (obviously) and my sister (she's almost 7 months pregnant at the moment so won't be going on rides anyway and it can be our secret... And if her DH or anyone else asks I can say I'm not going on rides and hanging out with her and she can back me up!).

What do I do?!

Fingers crossed for a bfp next week.

I really be fucking pissed off if I go to disneyland and don't go on any rides because i think I MIGHT be pregnant only for AF to turn up. Gaahhhh.

mama31 · 28/09/2013 18:54

Congrats International and good luck telling him....let us know how it goes, I hope things work out ok....

lucyfluff · 28/09/2013 19:02

Love that post gilly!!! The 'i'll be fucking pissed off' bit made me laugh. If I was you I would carry on going for it, and even if you were preggers in Disneyland it would be so early and rides would be fine. Obviously Im willing your bfp for next week so you dont have that problem :)

Writerwannabe83 · 28/09/2013 19:03

I wouldn't have thought there were risks Gilly in terms of going on the rides at 1-2 weeks pregnant? It depends what reasons they give for why pregnant women shouldn't go on specific rides?

I always imagined the guidelines were there for more established pregnancies and for the faster rides, I.e roller coasters or waltzers I.e because the baby bumps would prevent the women from being able to be strapped in securely as opposed to there actually being a direct danger to the baby?

lucyfluff · 28/09/2013 19:03

Oh and AF pains are still here, bloody awful stupid things just want it to arrive now!!!!!!

GillyBillyWilly · 28/09/2013 19:04

Is it ok to go on roller coasters when you're like 1-2 weeks pregnant though? Is that a stupid question?! I really don't know the answer! Grin
Surely the little bean is still settling in!?!

Polkadot1 · 28/09/2013 19:09

gilly I think if I were you I'd take a stash of preg testts, and maybe do them each day/ other day, then if it's a bfn, you don't need to be worried on going on the rides, but if it's a bfp, hopefully you can make up a suitable excuse with the help of your sister (if she's going?) Maybe she could pretend she was feeling ill, so wanted help looking after her baby or something? I think (I'd hope!) most people, whilst they may suspect you maybe pregnant, probably wouldn't say anything, esp if they knew you were ttc.

I was 7 weeks pregnant at a good friends he do last year, and didn't know what to do, as I am a wine- monster, but didn't want to tell folks that early, so I just told my best mate, and swapped glasses all weekend. I thought it went really well! But when announced the pregnancy at 13 weeks, turns out hey had all guessed, but knew why I hadn't said, so just kept quiet. Maybe you could drop something into conversation now like "if we did get pregnant, we wouldn't tell anyone for quite a few weeks", then hopefully you could avoid tricky questions!?
X

Polkadot1 · 28/09/2013 19:11

But like the others said, I'm sure there would be no risk at 1-2 weeks anyway!!

Writerwannabe83 · 28/09/2013 19:11

But it is very deep inside your body. I imagine that if it is safe to have sex in very early pregnancy then it's safe to go on a roller coaster if strapped in securely Grin

Maybe google and see if there is any info regarding safety in early pregnancy at theme parks?

Polkadot1 · 28/09/2013 19:13

It's like saunas /jacuzzis/ hot baths etc- they say not to do it (so I didn't), but loads of people do and are fine! I'd just enjoy your holiday xx ( but hopefully you'll have bfp by then anyway! ) (grin)

Polkadot1 · 28/09/2013 19:15

I think the risk of roller coasters in early pregnancy is more of causing a surge of stress hormones due to fear ..which (in theory) could induce m/c.

lucyfluff · 28/09/2013 19:17

Yeah Im pretty sure a few rides will be fine. Its further along in pregnancy when you cant do things like that. Some women dont even know they are pregnant until six weeks so dont worry. Enjoy your holiday :)
