No, I didn't take placebo tablets, I was on Microgynon...

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 15:53

I had a seven day break every month rather than placebos but I assume it's the same thing?

Tea1Sugar · 21/09/2013 16:08

Vjones - may I suggest you stop b6 altogether? It can be helpful to those whose cycles have regulated for many months after contraception and want to lengthen their Lp. It isn't advised for women who've been off the pill merely 2months, you need to let your body sort itself naturally rather than confuse it. Good luck for next month. As writer says, may be worth considering having a break from ttc until your cycles have normalised to prevent you from going through emotional stress each month.

lucyfluff · 21/09/2013 16:17

Hugs VJ :( sorry AF got you early but hoping next mnth is good for you.

@ mama - I know we shouldnt say this but DH and I would love a little girl! Love my boys but it would be fab to share my nail varnish with someone ;)

Anyway enjoy your saturday night ladies. I have a relaxing one with junk food/xfactor/sofa!!!! Oh and DH later lol

Spirael · 21/09/2013 16:46

Aww, sorry to hear AF arrived VJ. :( It's still early days yet after stopping taking the pill, give your body another month or two to recover before worrying unduly about it. It will get better, it just needs time!

Congratulations Cupcake! And, er... Would someone mind moving me up in the list to join you at some point? :) I've been too ill to post much over the last day or two.

All the early testers with BFNs and AF cramps... Don't give up yet! I was getting BFNs and AF cramps earlier in the week too. It's not over until AF actually arrives, and some times not even then.

Not much to report here... Still full of cold and sulking as the only thing I can take for it is paracetamol. Normally I use the nasal sprays, but it's not certain whether they're safe. So I have no nasal breathing ability anymore!

Had some dark discharge earlier. Not brown like blood, but darker than normal. I vaguely seem to remember having this last time as well and it freaked me out at the time (after having had a chemical preg a couple of months before) but it never turned brown and was all ok.

So trying to remain calm at present! Unless I start getting proper spotting, everything is probably still fine. [chews nails] If I do get spotting... Well, then I guess I'll see you all on the next bus, so keep me a seat just in case!

On the plus side, I used a CB Digi this morning which was Pregnant 1-2 weeks and DH finally conceded that he couldn't argue with that. Wink I'm saving the other one for next weekend, when hopefully it'll be 2-3 and put my mind at ease a bit more.

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 16:58

Thank you all for not thinking I'm a total numpty. I think the plan for this month is to stop using opks and all the other bits and bobs and just carry on dtd regularly. That way I will hopefully see my cycle continue to improve but will be a bit more relaxed.

So glad I've just been for a run because it helped improve my mood. And dh is taking me out for dinner tonight :-)

lucyfluff · 21/09/2013 17:07

If that post had a 'like' button VJ, I would have pressed it!!

Have a great evening :)

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 17:23

:-) Thank god dh isn't a worrier like me. He just got home, gave me a cuddle and said, it's still early days, your luteal phase is already one day longer (although obviously didn't use the actual phrase "luteal phase"...)

Refoca · 21/09/2013 18:03

How have I only just found this thread and we're already on 709 posts?!?

Sorry to hear AF got you VJones...I was so hopeful we'd both have BFPs this month too :-(

I've not got any symptoms yet, but have got some 10mu tests in the house from t'internet so am pondering testing early this cycle...though as I'm only (at a guess) about 7dpo I should really not waste one quite so soon...oh, where has my patience gone already? So much for testing no earlier than a week after AF is due...

ThoraNomiki · 21/09/2013 18:31

OK just read from the beginning of this thread. Had a giggle over the cat babies and spastical pregnancies haha. How did I miss talk-like-a-pirate day?!
Writer It was lovely to read about your scan story Smile I'm so glad things are progressing well for you!

mama31 · 21/09/2013 18:54

VJ hugs to you! Enjoy your dinner out tonight with DH and allow yourself some wine you deserve it! :) oh and a run was a great idea...always clears the head! :)

ELR · 21/09/2013 18:55

Gosh that's good thora don't think I could of read through 711 messages!! What was writers scan story??

ELR · 21/09/2013 18:57

vj enjoy your night out and try not to worry too much. Although I know that's easier said than done.

Cupcake1985 · 21/09/2013 19:02

VJ if it makes you feel better i was on the same pill for 12 years. Came off in April, didn't track anything until this month as we weren't trying to concieve until after our holiday. But my cycle lengths changed by a day or two. Your body probably just needs a few months like mine did.

Sparrowlegs248 · 21/09/2013 19:58

VJ I hope you have a good night. Your plan sounds like a good one - really try to relax about the whole thing!! I was on the depo jab for 7 years and had my last one in sept 2012. I got my first period this June. Luckily my cycles seem fairly regular so far at 25 days so i am just pleased that things are relatively 'normal' again. It was a long old wait though!! I decided that i wouldn't even think of ttc until af was back and was really chuffed when my second af arrived 25 days after the first. Good luck to you. X

PurpleGeekyGirl · 21/09/2013 20:07

Congrats to the BFPs and hugs to those who need it.

Had a really good chat with dp about the whole ttc process whilst we were driving to a wedding earlier. His take on it was that the baby will come to us when it/we are ready, not before. That it's fun trying and we have years for it to happen in. He was so sweet and pragmatic about it all it really cheered me up.

Sparrowlegs248 · 21/09/2013 20:24

Thats lovely purple bless him. I feel pretty calm about it mostly, the only thing niggling at me is that i am 36. I wonder if i should be taking a more 'scientific' approach given my age? If no luck after 6 months ttc then i will i think.

Soooooo ....just resisted poas!! I am determined to hold off til af is due - tuesday. But am home alone and it occurred to me that i needed a wee amd hadn't been for a while.....'ooooh! I could poas!!' but no, i resisted.

However, just had the most bizarre discharge. Quite 'snotty' looking. Sorry for tmi. And the sort that kind of half came out then just hung there dangling. Eew. Wtf is that about??

mama31 · 21/09/2013 20:29

Purple that's so sweet :)

Notta, I had a lot of creamy lotion type discharge today at 5dpo, don't remember it being so abundant before! Who knows maybe we just never noticed these things before ttc! Do you have any children notta? (Too lazy to check stats lol) what cycle are u on? And dpo?

Sparrowlegs248 · 21/09/2013 20:38

No children mama , cycle 3 and 9dpo (i think - only working on an average for my length of cycle)

Its very odd isn't it but like you say we are taking more notice. (what i really want is for someone to say 'i got that two days before my bfp!!)

PurpleGeekyGirl · 21/09/2013 20:58

Notta mama it was indeed, chilled me right out Smile

I've been very wet this cycle - had ewcm for at least 9 days and lots of wet/creamy cm on other days. Af pains getting gradually worse over the day today Hmm I think my increased cm is down to pregnacare. Did a google on it last week and whilst it can be a sign of pg it's also common when taking that vit in particular.

PurpleGeekyGirl · 21/09/2013 20:59

Oh and meant to say I am 40 in Jan so feel the clock is ticking v loudly for me. I had ds when I was 29...

jessieagain · 21/09/2013 21:13

vjone hope you feel better about it soon Flowers enjoy your night and I think your plan is a good one.

purple that is really sweet!

About the cm, I usually only get it over the few days of ov but when I was pregnant I do remember it also happened, not sure when it started though.

Mistyautumn · 21/09/2013 23:01

Sorry for not posting for a few days. Had a virtually unseeable line on hpt yesterday. Talked myself out of believing it. Same thing on another IC at 4 am this morning. After not being able to get back to sleep gave in and poas on cb digi, just wanted to put mind at ease that I wasn't really upduffed and was just imagining it........and got flipping BFP.

Sorry for not updating this morning spent the day getting to grips with the idea!

funkymonk · 21/09/2013 23:08

vjones please don't worry. I was on microgynon for 14 years. There's no point at all in seeing a gp as they will tell you it takes up to 6months to get proper cycles back. If only they told us over the years of prescribing it the problems it can cause when stopping taking it and wanting to conceive. I would have stopped years ago. I had a 8 or 9 day luteal phase for 5 cycles and now it's 10 or 11 days. After a miscarriage in July I now take b6. 60mg before ovulation and 110mg after. So far this has added 1 day onto my luteal phase. So its now 12 or 13 (i don't temp to confirm). Be careful with b6 as it can cause delayed ovulation meaning much longer cycles (frustrating when ttc!) or inhibit ovulation completely in some cases. That's why its best to start off with a lower dose. I would however strongly recommend that you let your body find its own natural rhythm first before playing around with these vitamins. Not much point in taking them until you know what your body is really up to. Taking high doses of b6 over prolonged times can cause peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage) so you don't want to be in a situation where you find you do need it but have already been taking it for a long time and find that you are having some side effects. In a couple of cycles time you might find things are naturally improved and you get your bfp!

funkymonk · 21/09/2013 23:09

Congrats to new bfps!
