My DH would love to have a girl as well but my family is all boys so I think everyone just wants a girl!! Lol

Writer my friend keeps referring to her bump as "he" she's due in a few wks so It will be interesting to see if she was right!

I was convinced I was having a girl first time round, everyone I spoke to also convinced me.....it was such a shock to me and everyone when I had a boy...but it was a really lovely surprise! I wouldn't change it he is an absolute gem!!

NeuroticSweetTalk · 21/09/2013 13:00

Writer I'm the same I only have a vague idea of when IOVd as the day I thought I had OVd I had negative OPKs and with a 26 day cycle I could be either 7 or 9 DPO maybe more. But yeah the snotty nose is really random aha and all the other things I've had throughout the week I put down to a UTI because (TMI!) It kinda stung abit every time I went to the bathroom (which was every 20 minutes or so) but that stopped the day after, the frequent trips to the loo haven't though ha. Curious and curiouser lol Smile

jessieagain · 21/09/2013 13:06

gilly spirael got a bfp a day or two ago! (If my memory is correct) :)

I always thought i would have a son, so ds was no surprise.

I would like ds to have a brother, but I would also like to experience parenting a girl, so it is a win win whatever the gender is.

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 13:08

It's got heavier now, although lighter than my usual period. I'm absolutely gutted. Another short luteal phase and I just want to cry.

jessieagain · 21/09/2013 13:12

So sorry vj Flowers hope you have luck next time

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 13:13

I just want my luteal phase to be normal.

Writerwannabe83 · 21/09/2013 13:13

Oh VJ Flowers x x

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 13:17

It's been two cycles since I stopped the pill so I don't know whether to see a doctor about it or not. The b6 seems to have lengthened my lp by one day so far.

mama31 · 21/09/2013 13:21

Awh VJ I'm sorry!!! I think a tel call to the GP just to ask if there's something else you could try to lengthen you LP would do no harm. I know it may seem impatient so early after coming off the pill but if there's a chance to rectify it sooner then why not ask what else you could do. Can't do any harm! Good luck and hugs!!!

TMI ALERT:

Ladies anyone else had white creamy (like lotion) cm at 5dpo?? Just noticed a lot of this there now! Don't think I had it last cycle!

Writerwannabe83 · 21/09/2013 13:21

To be honest, your GP will probably just tell you that you need to give it more time for your cycles to sort themselves out - I doubt there's anything they could do? I may be wrong though as it isn't something I'm familiar with.

My tip to you : when you do get your baby, don't go back on the Pill, fond another method of contraception. Do you fancy all this stress again when trying to TTC#2? Smile

Things will sort themselves out VJ and you will get your baby and I know 2 months must feel like forever because of how much you want to conceive, but you may just need to be patient.

What does your partner make of it all? Could you put actively TTC'ing on hold for a few months whilst your cycles normalise? It might save you going through this stress and heartbreak each month?

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 13:24

I know this naive but is it possible to talk to a gp on the phone for advice rather than go and see them? I've never done that before so I don't know!

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 13:27

writer I won't go on it ever again and regret taking it for so long. In a way I'm lucky that I ov two weeks after stopping it and even got my period. I'm just scared it'll never be normal. I don't want to stop ttc at the moment but I need to stop wearing my heart on my sleeve. Dh is very pragmatic and laidback and says my body is just sorting itself out.

mama31 · 21/09/2013 13:31

I have an excellent GP who gave me an appointment to discuss ttc before I'd started trying. My gp also advised me to call if I wanted any advice whilst ttc. I guess I'm lucky to have such a supportive gp but you won't know until you ask.

I'm also only on cycle 3 but if my LP is really short and I get spotting again this cycle ill def be making that call to gp for advice and reassurance.

GillyBillyWilly · 21/09/2013 13:37

VJ I came off the pill last December and still don't think my cycles are particularly regular or "normal".

Saw my doctor a few months ago as she said they wouldn't even think about looking into it until after a year of ttc... She said she knows women who have taken a year to have regular cycles let alone get pregnant.

Stick with it and if you aren't using OPKs yet start using them Smile

mama31 · 21/09/2013 13:46

I agree with gilly re opks, I started using them this cycle for the first time and although I was confused at first, I did find out that I ovulated alomst a week later than expected on a shorter cycle so was very useful as got the pos opk just as I thought we had dtd enough over my expected fertile window....so on we went for another week lol was exhausting but hope we've hit the mark!!!

The pill is evil....I only want one more child but won't be going back on the pill...so it will be snip snip for DH!

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 14:00

I've been using opks from day one ans ov on cd18 both cycles so that's not the problem, it's the short lp that bothers me.

Cupcake1985 · 21/09/2013 14:39

VJ I know you've probably googled a lot but I found this site thehealthyelements.com/lengthen-your-luteal-phase/ which suggests vitamin C lots of leafy greens and omega three to heighten progesterone. It mentions b6 that people keep talking about. If your worried ring the docs who cares if they aren't keen on you doing it. Maybe you could call NHL direct and speak to a nurse? Hope it works out soon.

ThoraNomiki · 21/09/2013 14:55

I'd be happy with a healthy baby of either sex but I would prefer another girl. I know my husband would prefer a boy. I think that if we were to have a boy next it would mean DH wouldn't even consider a 3rd child. I'm not sure I'd want a 3rd, but I wouldn't like to feel it was 'case-closed'/ not an option at all.
I also like the sort of relationship two girls could share growing up. I have a sister who I am very close to.
I wouldn't find out the sex next time either. I was the first to find out the sex of my daughter, when she was born. It wasn't planned but it was a lovely moment I will never forget Smile

mama31 · 21/09/2013 14:56

Great advice cupckake! I've also upped my vitc drinking a lot of oj! So will see if that plus the b6 this cycle has helped.

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 15:22

I've just ratjer dramatically burst into tears about it all. Having a low day, I think. Was out with my nan so held it all in until I just walked through the door :-( I know I'm idiot.

ThoraNomiki · 21/09/2013 15:32

Sorry to hear that you're feeling bad VJ. I recommend lots of chocolate, a warm bubble bath and lots of cuddles. I hope you feel better soon.

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 15:34

Yeah, unfortunately there's no one here to cuddle yet! But going for a run soon to clear my head. Hopefully the b6 will lengthen my lp again next month.

NeuroticSweetTalk · 21/09/2013 15:37

Oh VJ you're not an idiot. I realise this is the first time I've spoke up but I've been lurking not really knowing if I should get involved or even what to say, but to go to your doctor there may be something they can do to help even it out, as stupid as it sounds maybe a different type of BCP for a month or two? Since I was originally put on BCP to even my cycle out because I was incredibly irregular, constantly had AF and cramps. It means putting off actively TTC for a bit but it might help sort your cycle for when you do stop again. I'm fairly new to the whole TTC thing so that might be the worst advice ever so ignore me if I'm being dim. I hope it all works out for you Smile

VJONES1985 · 21/09/2013 15:40

Thanks for your advice. I guess that might be an option although I think my short luteal phase has been caused by years on the pill, as that can cause a b6/progesterone deficiency. I hope my body is starting to sort itself out...

NeuroticSweetTalk · 21/09/2013 15:45

Hmm, so I'm guessing you were on the proper pill? The one with the placebo tablet for a week? Maybe if it is an option try going for the Pop pill (progesterone only pill) like cerazette. It only took 6 weeks to sort me out and I had no problems coming off it either.
