Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share and with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

The link to Part 17 is here

Happy shagging shaggers!

no grad thread link sorry, can someone else add this please?

That's a bit flippin' exciting Minion! That's how I found my BFP - an hours old faint line! Don't wait days, FMU tomorrow should do it... All fx for you! Grin
I am now officially no longer pregnant, so back in the JSing game as soon as a real ERTD has been and gone. Lots of tinsel-covered Xmas Cape action planned!

cookielove · 03/11/2013 20:50

Dh has said we may have to put off trying for a few years, cause we are looking to buy a flat/house and it may not be the right time Shock

AuntieMaggie · 03/11/2013 22:04

Sounds exciting minion - fx for you!

Um well I decided to poas as its day 36 or 37 and it was positive Confused I am very shocked and don't have a fecking clue what to do next other than test again tomorrow (help?).

I have so many questions about what I should and shouldn't be doing though still not completely convinced its true!

DulcetMoans · 03/11/2013 22:49

OMG, are we about to have two BFPs here?! Thank god the drought is over.

Good luck auntie, get a digi! Help you convince yourself.

Why has he decided that then cookie? Put your foot down!

Like the sound of your cape nessa, think you could start a fashion!

ZingWantsCake · 03/11/2013 23:07

auntie

yay!
what questions? I can hopefully help

OP posts:
Nessalina · 03/11/2013 23:21

Auntie too!! Grin Congratulations !!
So excited to see a flood of BFPs, and for the old hands too (old Fred-attendance wise rather than age wise I mean!!).
That sucks Cookie Sad Maybe he's just feeling disheartened by your recent experience, I know my DH gave me a bit of a face when I said I wanted to try again straight away, but what's changed in 6 months that you can't keep at it? Maybe go for a softly softly 'not trying not preventing' line. Then make sure he doesn't catch on that you're jumping him at quite specific times of the month! Wink

fifi669 · 04/11/2013 00:18

Congratulations auntie! (A quietly positive congratulations to minion too! It may be outside the time range but I've checked many a pee stick the next day and had nowt).

Minion · 04/11/2013 04:34

auntie woweee congratulations!
Fantastic news!
Yes, it's 4:30 and for the 6th day in a row and I'm wide a bloody wake.
Fuming.
Right, I've got me cheer leading outfit on ready for a flutter of more sperm cheering on!
C'mon BFPs, let it rain!

Redshoes56 · 04/11/2013 05:05

auntie - that's exciting!!!!

AuntieMaggie · 04/11/2013 06:35

Thank you ladies :)

Questions:
Wtf do I do now?
What do I need to start/stop doing?
Can I still do zumba? Low carb?
What damage will the 5 pints I had on Friday have done? And the tooth xray I had the first week?
How do I and DP keep this a secret?
How did I lose 5lbs this week?

Those are the ones I can remember... Apart from whats going to happen to my xmas pudding rum?!

ZingWantsCake · 04/11/2013 07:19
  • you get yourself down to gp's to announce you are pg (yay!!) to start the ball rolling.
you will get two appointments in the post, one for your 12 week scan and one for your booking in app with midwife. do read about what foods/drinks and other things you should avoid
  • tooth x-ray was very localized so don't worry about that

-5 pints - don't worry about that either.
my POV is that a little alcohol every now and then is not a problem, but do not smoke.
I was craving beer with two of mine (I don't even like beer!) so I bought alcohol free beer.

Having not been pregnant I am not the expert on all those questions but I can help with the exercise questions as I have researched all of this and my gym buddy just has her baby.

Basically my understanding is you can keep doing whatever you were doing. Don't take on any new exercises and don't go crazy in terms of impact but overall there is no reason to stop.

And losing 5lb when preggers is totally possible! Doesn't mean anything bad. Just think how tiny it is at the moment, barely weighs anything. If you have been working out enough to lose weight then being pregnant at this stage wouldn't stop it.

Not sure about low carb but I guess the general advice is going to be eat healthily. If low carb is still healthy and gives you/baby what you need then keep going. Be prepared to make changes though in case it means you are missing something.

DulcetMoans · 04/11/2013 07:25

Oh cross posted with zing!

On the five pints, I'm sure I read that baby doesn't share blood supply until 5 weeks so wouldn't even know you has 5 pints!

ZingWantsCake · 04/11/2013 07:27

-you can do zumba if you like, but after 12 weeks it is recommended that you do no high impact nor body contact exercises (so no jumping, running, trampolining, kickboxing, skiing, horse riding etc.)
and if you do yoga do not do upside down positions

recommended things are walking, swimming, cycling (if you can/want to), any kind of approved anti-natal excersice

  • low carbing - that's up to you.
I think it is better to listen to your body. if/when you have cravings, nausea and are physically sick you should eat/drink whatever makes you feel better. see what happens, no need to decide yet.
  • how to keep it a secret -
tape your mouths shut? disconnect from internet and live in a cave? pfft Grin
OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 04/11/2013 07:34

-weight loss
that is due to faster metabolism while pg and if you have morning sickness/vomiting you will loose weight anyway

between week 6 - week 13 I lost a stone and a half due to being sick 2-3 times a day and not being able to eat anything sweet!

it was even worse with DS3, I was sick for 6.5 months combined and although he was 9lb 6 I my pre-pregnancy weight was the same as when he was born! (lost loads and took ages to slowly put it back on!)

anything else?

OP posts:
AuntieMaggie · 04/11/2013 07:43

Aww thanks Grin

I'm confused about due dates as I know the exact date we dtd but they will take the day of my last period won't they which is 2 weeks earlier. (This makes a difference as to how due I'm going to be when dp is supposed to be abroad doing a sport event the first week of July!)

There is a womaan in my zumba class who is on pg no 3 and did zumba til the end with the last two!

ZingWantsCake · 04/11/2013 07:52
  • that's why you need your 12 week scan, otherwise known as dating scan, which is offered to be done between 11-13 weeks based on first day of your last period.
whatever baby's size is at that point your due date might change by as much as 10 days either way! or it might be exactly right

so wait until then to actually set your sights on a particular day.

OP posts:
ZingWantsCake · 04/11/2013 08:03

oh and that's why a pg is 40 weeks(+) despite gestation being 38 weeks (+) - periods are easier to pinpoint then exact time of ovulation and/or conception

Waggamamma · 04/11/2013 08:24

Yey!! Congratulations auntie and I hope that wee line comes up straight away on your next test minion woohoo.

My af would usually be due tomorrow but I think I ov'd late this month so I'm only about 9dpo so thinking I'll probably be late. Waiting game! if I am late when can I poas?

Minion · 04/11/2013 08:37

Just back from gp myself, had to have stitches out so thought I would pick his brains whilst I had an app.
He asked me if I 'felt' pregnant, wasn't sure having never had the chance, but he said most women wee a lot more...
CHECK, can't get off the loo, even the husband has noticed that.
He also said women feel more 'busty'...
DOUBLE CHECK though I had to stifle a giggle at busty. Thought I'd been transported back to the 50s, think I've prob gone up a bra size, so he said can test in a few days time and call midwife when ready.

Loads of very useful questions answered above, but I have one more.
What the frig shall I do with the block of unopened pate in the fridge? Shall I pretend I never saw a line and snarf it anyways?
What about the bottle of baileys tantalising me?

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 04/11/2013 09:27

The baileys will keep won't it? Not sure about the pate. Think its to do with Vit E overload in liver, which is why you aren't meant to eat it?

WOOOHOOO for all the BFPS viroids. Thank goodness the dry spell is over! This is all fab news and exactly what I needed on a Monday morning. Congrats Maggie. Minion have you done a digi yet?

Pie isn't really an official recipe, I just made it up, but it was yum. I browned some chicken, sauted some leeks, mushroom and a bit of ham. Made a white sauce, mixed it all together. Then made shortcrust and lined a pie dish, bunged it all in, more pastry on the top. I even made little pastry leaves to go on top. It was so good. Could have done with some brownies with salted caramel sauce to finish though. Bloody hell they sound amazing!

EssiesInvisibleLlama · 04/11/2013 09:27

Ha! Busty! Brilliant. Grin

Nessalina · 04/11/2013 10:15

Ooh, drooling at that pie Essie!! Envy
All sounds very positive Minion, though I'm surprised that you were AT the doctors and he didn't get you to POAofficialdoctoryS while you were there!
The pâté is bad because of listeria & vitamin A overdose I believe. Even though you won't share food with the babe for a few weeks, listeria is an infection YOU can get that causes harm, so even early on I'd maybe avoid.
The baileys - I reckon a cheeky glass or two this week and next will do no harm whatsoever, 1-2units per week is fine according to NHS. Try watering it down with some milk & ice, that way less units, more baileys taste Grin

Minion · 04/11/2013 10:30

Haha brilliant nessa! I like your thinking. Think I should pour it over cheesecake for added calcium intake too.

essie not done a digi yet. Going to do other dipstick tomorrow I think, just to be sure it wasn't an evap line, then try and persuade other half to fork out for one.

Think doc was on a busy day, so it was stitches out, nod and smile and showed me the exit. Bless him. He looks like lembit opik and when he was beavering away shutter itching, all I could think of was the cheeky girls song.

AuntieMaggie · 04/11/2013 11:20

minion one of the things dp said last night was "ha you can't drink any of the booze in the cupboard" - cheeky bugger seems to think i can't object to him drinking it now that I won't be able to drink at xmas!

I haven't noticed those symptoms but then I have lost over a stone so my boobs are smaller anyway.

Now is it worth me buying a xmas jumper?
