Grrr bugs FX it gets sorted one way or another. We've also sold ours to a buyer who wants to be in before Xmas, however the vendor of the house we have put an offer on has gone awol and the agents cant get hold of her.
Not silk shoes. But now i come to think of it she was also on here as the pope for a very brief moment!

Didn't really think that - I remember the mn HQ smackdown was pretty rapid and complete!

Sorry about the house bugs. Sounds like you're getting advice on t'other place. Similar happened to us when we moved from Scotland to England. We pulled out, but the markets were falling hard then- it's a different picture these days I think.

Brief diffed BESH chat - really shitty mw appt today culminating in her (after reading through my notes as if its a bloody "That's life" article) telling me I probably got a win when I relaxed. I responded "I think that's unlikely". But I wanted to poke her in the eye with the pissy dipstick she was waving a me.

Am fascinated by the silk shoes poster...any more info??

(Doffs cap to winks) hello Smile

MW - don't you just love those comments? Well done on not spitting at her!

Fabuluce · 03/10/2013 14:50

Argh - sinks not winks!!

JethroTull · 03/10/2013 14:55

Eeek Sinky I would have twatted her full in the face.

Bugs - that is shit news about the house. Moving house is SO stressful.

Hello New BESH. I am JethroTull, formerly of this parish. Just laid my miracle IVF IOTO baybee GrinGrin after 4 years of struggling & lots of tears. The BESH saw me through it all. It's a good place.

evilgiraffe · 03/10/2013 14:56

Holy shit, sinks. I am imagining your voice dripping with derision and a slightly raised eyebrow. Honestly, some people. Getting diffed is supposed to be the good part, not full of barren-stress Angry

SinkyMalinks · 03/10/2013 15:02

Don't worry- the sinks/winks mix up is pretty constant! Hello btw. I'm the same as frank, 3 yrs TTC, still hanging around.

Would have loved to pull her up bugs, but I suspect she is one of those people who just don't listen. And I wasn't going to waste energy on her.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 03/10/2013 15:03

Afternoon hags! I can't believe how much you lot chat when I am in a meeting all morning and then I came home to do some work and might have dozed for an hour on the sofa

Right sinky I would have actually hit her. What a cow. Nuff said.

Fingers crossed for resolving the house issue bugs. That is really horrible. But the sofa and Bridget and pets sound good.

On the topic of fantastic or absent pets, welcome llw with the cool pets and fab. I know you from the buddies, but this is one of my real home s.

Background story, btw I agree draf I find it helpful to get reminded now and again where everyone is:
Both 34, TTC since June 2010, unexplained IF by summer 2011, then 3x IUI, completely clear lap&dye and successful IUI+SO=> mc at 7+4 in Sept 2012, another 4 SO+IUI; LP IVF June/July, chem diffment, FET in Sept, BFP last Monday.

Keeping everything crossed for our testers. And on talking to embies. I felt really guilty with the mc, as I hadn't talked/loved etc enough and thought it went wrong for that reason yeah, I am insane too. So with Lembie I and Lembie II, I've been giving them encouragement. I am having a bit alot of insomnia right now so I explain to Lembie every night that he/she/it should stick around to meet their amazing father and make me very happy.

SinkyMalinks · 03/10/2013 15:04

And the rest of you! Nice to know I'm not being totally unreasonable. 2/3 mw so far have said this to me (perhaps not coincidentally, I've only liked 1/3 mw so far). But this one got my hackles raised the most so far. Good job she did my bp first.

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/10/2013 15:37

Sorry forgot the intro. Merkin, besh-lurker extraordinaire! 15 weeks diffed so even more of a lurker than I was in the first place. Besh will keep you sane!

Fabuluce · 03/10/2013 16:38

Wowsers so how many of you are now diffed? Merk, Sinks, Lemon, Frank - is that correct? This is clearly the fred to stay on then (settles into the sofa and contemplates whether tis to early to gin up) and Hello to Jethro - massive congratulations - how amazing for you Grin. Lems, lovely to see you here too - I can see why you like it!

Jethro whats IOTO? Soz for being an imbecile if it's a really obvious one!

FrankelInFoal · 03/10/2013 16:49

IOTO is our IVF motto - It Only Takes One (egg)

JethroTull · 03/10/2013 16:56

Fab IOTO was my mantra when I was having IVF - It Only Takes One. And it did for me, we only had one viable embryo to put back and right now he is lying right on me snoozing. Here isn't the place to go on about it tho so I will be quiet now SmileSmile

Fabuluce · 03/10/2013 17:05

How utterly utterly fabulous :)

HadALittleFaith · 03/10/2013 17:18

I iz Faith or variations of...I too have laid a baybee. 2 years 8 months TTC, male factor ishoos in our case found from a barrage of tests. 8 months after starting treatment I got diffed and now have DD aka Faithlet who is coming up for 6 months old (and currently rolling her way across the living room!). I still lurk and get my nipple tassels out for a win :)

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 03/10/2013 17:23

I am not diffed, not really until after the scan! That looked too scary!

Faith is our collective conscience no swearing ande general niceness but still fun!

HadALittleFaith · 03/10/2013 17:31

Diffed until proven otherwise drizz! :)

HadALittleFaith · 03/10/2013 17:32

Actually I meant/prefer unless.

MyNameIsWinkly · 03/10/2013 17:34

Yup faify keeps us on the straight and narrow :)

I'm winks, 32, ttc just over 2 years, bfp unassisted in July after a pcos diagnosis and seeing the fertility consultant. Mmc and erpc at 10 weeks, back to square 1 with the hospital - appointment end of November. Married to HWCA (Husband without a cool acronym), who has pulled a muscle in his back and is unfit for sechsing despite the epic quantities of pant snot suggesting this is my fertile time Angry

Hags I read an interesting article in Zest about fertility today. Apparently the belief that it plummets post-35 is from an ancient study, and newer ones show that 35 - 40 year olds are only around 10% less likely to conceive than a 20 year old! so its not cos we're Selfish, just Barren

MyNameIsWinkly · 03/10/2013 17:36

Oh sinks and I are often confused, which I don't mind cos she is awesome. And has fabulous taste in tv shows Grin but we have made a tv date for next year she will clearly be far too busy with her baybee to make!

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/10/2013 17:54

Winks I've got the research stats for that, it's true. Will dig them out and post...

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/10/2013 18:02

The main research on this uses data from the 19th century (it’s old, but the technology hasn’t changed much!). Here is the idea: prior to the modern era, couples would pretty much get down to business right after the wedding and there were limited birth control options. So you can figure out how fertility varies with age by looking at the chance of having children at all for women getting married at different ages. Researchers found that the chance of having any children was very similar for women who got married at any age between 20 and 35. Then it began to decline: women who got married between 35 and 39 were about 90 percent as likely to have a child as those who got married younger than 35; women who got married between 40 and 44 were only about 62 percent as likely; and women who got married between 45 and 49 were only 14 percent as likely. You may or may not like to draw from such old data. People live longer now and are healthier longer. It is certainly possible that as longevity and health increase, women will remain fertile longer. Even if you do take this data at face value, the reduction in fertility is not as dramatic as you might have feared. The 35- to 39-year-old group is only slightly less likely to have children; the major drop in fertility is not until after 40 and at least some women over 45 in this data did conceive – this in an era well before in vitro fertilisation (IVF)! Contemporary data looks fairly similar, perhaps even somewhat more encouraging. Researchers in France studied a group of around 2,000 women who were undergoing insemination with donor sperm. One nice aspect of this study is that they didn’t have to worry that older people had sex less frequently because everyone in the study was trying to get knocked up at the right time of the month in a controlled environment. After twelve cycles, the pregnancy rate was around 75 percent for women under 30, 62 percent for women 31 to 35 and 54 percent for women over 35. In this oldest group were similar for women 36 to 40 and over 40. More than half of the over-40 women in the sample got pregnant within a year.
