Come one, come all and join our rollicking new thread with slightly updated brand new rules

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Happy Birthday Sal Thanks Wine x

Good luck today Bezza, stay strong and try to block out your previous bad experiences. x

High reading on my cbfm this morning (cd15) so more dtd for me for a few more days...trying to muster up some enthusiasm!

x

Sapphireday · 10/09/2013 07:30

Good luck today Bezza, I hope the scan shows there is nothing to worry about.

alyant79 · 10/09/2013 07:45

Good luck bezza

Thanks girls.

Good luck today Bezza. Take a book or magazine with you to distract yourself a bit and just think that there may be ladies waiting who will go through what you did last time. Xx

OneLittleToddleTerror · 10/09/2013 09:19

Good luck Bezza with the scan. Maybe bring some black lace or fifty shades with you so you have something to read when waiting at the hosital?

Nothing is happening at chez terror as I'm on the 2ww. It will be 11dpo on Friday, so it's not too late to join in the friday poas, is it?

cosmickitten · 10/09/2013 09:57

Hope you had a lovely birthday sal.

bezza hope scan goes well and that your not in waiting room to long x

Bezza2508 · 10/09/2013 12:20

Thanks, ladies. Ridiculously, I haven't given a moments thoughts to whether or not there could actually be something wrong with my kidneys! I'm more concerned about getting upset because of the bad memories!

I think you should poas on Friday OLTT. Anyone else doing the same?

CD16 here and no positive OPK as yet. Before miscarriage positives were always CD15 and 16 without fail.

triplespin · 10/09/2013 13:41

bezza good luck - hope it goes well. I hope you get a positive on opk soon - hopefully its just round the corner. Its so worrying this nagging doubt that something has changed post mc.

aly thanks for looking at the chart. I will wait for the next cycle and see what happens and then go with my charts to my GP. She has been nice to me on previous occasions and agreeing to have my blood tests done for other concerns - so lets see.

penguin - hope its your turn this month then !! I sometimes think all these gadgets and opks are adding more to the stress and worries (e.g. me worrying about not ovulating). I am thinking not to panic right away and will wait for one more month's cycle and then go to GP and/or private.

Sal1977 · 10/09/2013 15:28

Same here Bezza, day 15 and no positive OPK yet and I nearly always OV on day 16! Here's hoping its just around the corner!

Sal1977 · 10/09/2013 16:29

Scrap that, just got a smiley on a digi. Grin

SeasideLily · 10/09/2013 17:42

There you are Sal, right on time - lucky that syringe is nice and clean! And happy birthday - mine was the 8th. Hoping for a nice present in 3 weeks!

I hope your test went ok bezza?

We're doing the shagathon now - which basically means trying not to get annoyed with each other every other night so we can have sex. We always seem to fall out at this time, it must be linked!

Sal1977 · 10/09/2013 18:57

Happy birthday for the 8th Seaside!

We're off out to a posh Gary Rhodes restaurant with a nice £100 voucher to spend! Defo gonna have a bottle of fizz! Yum!

Off topic: I saw a really good saying today that made me chuckle:
Marriage is like a deck of cards, at the beginning all you need are two hearts. At the end you wish you had a club and a spade! Grin

Bezza2508 · 10/09/2013 19:01

Scan was fine thanks ladies. She said the consultant would write to me with the results but she couldn't see anything to worry about. I had a little weep when I left the hospital but I feel much better now its done. Off to the cinema for some distraction tonight.

Yay for the smiley face sal. Here's hoping a birthday shag does the trick Wink.

Penguinita · 10/09/2013 21:20

I reckon you can POAS on Friday OLTT, the 14 day rule is optional, waiting until 18 dpo would require extreme willpower (and we would all like some good news)

Good quote sal, sounds like the sort of advice to give to a hen Smile. Hope your birthday brings an extra visit from the fertility fairy.

You're right triple, I have far too many gadgets, it's an addiction. My kitchen is exactly the same!

Great news on the scan bezza.

Seaside, your post made me smile, trying not to get annoyed with each other so you can have sex - how true! I have to make a conscious effort not to nag and ignore his pants left on the floor, etc Grin

Sal1977 · 10/09/2013 22:19

If DH is wavering on DTD, I say "well the longer it takes me to get knocked up, the more miserable I'll be, so the more miserable you'll be!". That seems to do the trick pretty pronto! Grin

ArkadyRose · 10/09/2013 23:54

I'm on 12dpo now and still haven't poas since Friday! Grin Not sure if I can keep it up till Friday, but the past couple of days have been very hectic & kept me too busy for po any s! Smile Today I was visiting Beavertoqn Brewery in Islington to talk mead with their head brewer. Took 4 of my meada with me and they went wild for them. So next month we're going to collaborate on a couple of brews, and we're planning to launch them at Big Red in Islington when they're ready. Exciting stuff - and a good distraction from the 2ww! I did sample a little of my mead with them just to be polite, but only a couple of sips. They gave me 7 bottles of their beer to take home with me, and DP has swooped on thwm, gallantly rescuing me from the alcohol! Grin

OneLittleToddleTerror · 11/09/2013 09:07

seaside love your quote too. I do wonder if it's because DH is in his late 30s that he isn't as energetic as Christian Grey.Grin

arkady is all this brewery visits for your new job? It sounds so awesome!

I just looked at our local fertility clinic's prices on my phone. (At work here and don't want people to see what I'm browsing). Wow it's £475 for a 'rapid fertility assessment'. It's a lot more expensive than I thought it would be Sad.

cosmickitten · 11/09/2013 09:29

arkI have never tried me but yours is sounding really tempting. Very very impressed with your poas will power!

toddler I did spend that much for a similar test because as a 'fertility assessment' it does count as fertility treatment and I could go onto have nhs help (not sure if its that same for all pct's). If you do decide to go for it check includes progesteron tests as mine didnt and was a bit was of money.

They are scarily expensive, you gp should help you. Mine was a blank wall until I cried. IT SHOULD NOT be that way but pester power and tears are unlikely to save you half a grand!

cosmickitten · 11/09/2013 09:30

bezza I'm glad yesterday went as well as it could x

cosmickitten · 11/09/2013 13:06

Sorry toddler just noticed typo on last post. I wanted say pester power and tears are LIKELY to lead to tests and save you half a grand. Sorry I think I may have more rage about the subject than I realised!

triplespin · 11/09/2013 17:41

oltt that sounds v. pricey! Are you based in London?
ark amazed with your will power.
So who else is poas on Friday?

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 11/09/2013 19:14

I was hoping I might be POAS on Friday, but it looks like AF is on her way. Didn't really expect anything else, this is cycle 0 after all, but its hard not to hope. Gah! I hate TTC. I wish I didn't want another baby so much.

omama · 11/09/2013 20:42

Hi ladies, not been on for a few weeks, hope you're all doing ok?

Yorkshire so sorry to see you on here, I remember you from a secondary infertility thread a few months ago & know you'd been ttc for a long time - mc completely sucks. Hope you are doing ok.

We are now on cycle 2 post mmc, & have been ttc #2 for 18 months now. Last month I don't think I ovulated - I got a +ve opk then af 2 days later, this month its cd18 & am getting high fertility readings so think my cycle is finally back on track. Am expecting +ve opk tomorrow so bring on the 2ww!

Emki · 11/09/2013 21:20

Hi ladies - just checking in. Everyone is sounding quite productive.

OLLT I'll be 9 DPO on Friday .... eek! I might POAS.

Good luck to you and anyone else POAS this Friday - and happy DTD to all in shagathon week! And hoping for lots of distractions to those in the 2WW. Smile

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/09/2013 21:24

Hey guys. In the interest of paying forward some good deeds done for me, I have 28 IC OPKs. Anyone want them?
