Still here, still ttc, still POAS, still symptom spotting, still counting days, still temping, still shagging and still absolutely nutty!!!

OP posts:
MrsLadyL · 23/09/2013 15:15

Thank you! Hubby wants to wait a couple more days and test again with a CB digital to be sure. He doesn't want me to be disappointed. Bless

MrsLadyL · 24/09/2013 07:02

Morning ladies, so we couldn't wait, just took CB digital and BFP!!!! Over the moon :) :) :)

SoMuchFruit · 24/09/2013 08:13

Congratulations on the BFP's ladies! That's fab!

Liquidambar · 24/09/2013 08:19

Congratulations MrsL Grin well done! Flowers

MrsLadyL · 24/09/2013 08:24

Thank you very much! Waited a long time for this moment :)

Liquidambar · 24/09/2013 08:28

can i just say that I'm only 4dpo and already spotting symptoms... I'm completely nuts!
yesterday was lower back pain = need a new chair at work;

today is heartburn and upset stomach = had too much pizza last night.

clearly i know this is not related to a possible pregnancy but it's so easy to be irrational about it.

I hope everyone will have a good day

getagoldtoof · 24/09/2013 23:01

Hey MrsL - congrats! That was super quick!

Fedup, I can completely get where you're coming from. It's so hard to hear of bfp after bfp. I know you've had it really tough over the last two years. I hope all goes well for you even if you're not checking back in X

Liquid, 4dpo sounds about normal for a nutjob! That was me this month.

Af was due today but no sign yet. At the gym my workout nearly killed me and I have lots of pregnant symptoms still - but still bfn :( well - I've managed to see a line on pretty much every test I've done. Dh can't see them. So in the name of research I put beer on an ic hpt. An evap came up! A proper grey line! I'm chucking all of my ic's in the bin!

Feeling rather disheartened by the whole thing. I am desperate to go for a new job but feel stuck in my present job waiting to take advantage of a maternity leave period I may never have. It's so frustrating!

getagoldtoof · 24/09/2013 23:03

Sorry MrsL - I hope that wasn't insensitive - I meant you hadn't been on this thread for a long time before getting a bfp, not that it had happened for you super quick (sorry!). Bet you're over the moon!

MrsLadyL · 24/09/2013 23:35

No no it understand how you feel. It's all changed so much since my daughter, got my scan date and everything already! Too quick

getagoldtoof · 25/09/2013 06:51

Wow, that is so exciting! What is your edd?

I am now 15 dpo, temps still up. Going to poas. Can't help but be hopeful/scared. I'm nervous after what happened in June.

getagoldtoof · 25/09/2013 07:28

Nope. Af just arrived. Feeling very low.

MrsLadyL · 25/09/2013 07:46

Edd is 2nd June :)

MrsLadyL · 25/09/2013 07:47

Sorry to hear that geta, how long have you been trying?

Liquidambar · 25/09/2013 07:58

geta sorry about AF. I hope you are okay ( hugs and Flowers )

I'm in the same position as you. I would like to look for something new, but it seems a bit of waste because of the maternity leave. my suggestion is keep your eyes open and if there's anything you really want go for it.

getagoldtoof · 25/09/2013 08:59

That's lovely MrsL - you'll be in the nice middle bit for christmas, and shouldn't get too hot at the end bit!

Thanks liquid. I'm not that upset now, we've only been trying since June. I'm so hopeful it will happen by the end of the year. Sorry to hear you're in the same position job wise. It really is frustrating because I could walk into a less less stressful part time job tomorrow, but wouldn't get the maternity package etc.

I think period pains are just cruel, though - rub salt into the wound or what?!

AntoinetteCosway · 25/09/2013 08:59

Hello, may I join you? We've just started ttc no. 2 but it took almost a year last time and I was charting etc so I practically feel nuts about this time round already. I have a long and not very regular cycle so it's hard to guess at ovulation. Starting next month I'm going to start temping again. Yey.

getagoldtoof · 25/09/2013 09:13

Hi Antoinette - took us a yr last time too. I thought I'd be much calmer with ttc 2, but havw been nuts from day one as a throwback to ttc the first time. Temping is your only way of knowing what's going on - a necessary evil. The only good thing about af is not having to temp for 5 days! I really hope you get a quick and easy bfp, should be easier the second time!

PunkyBubba · 25/09/2013 10:03

Hi all, you don't know me but I have been lurking here since June. Firstly want to say how much brilliant advice and tips I picked up from reading this thread. I wasn't going to write as I never felt I had anything to add, but today feel I might.

I started using OPK's thanks to this thread (worked brilliantly for me, and made things much less stressful on the whole, though I know it is to each their own!), and end of August got my positive OPK so did some BD after convincing DH to give the SMEP plan a go. 2 weeks later on holiday I took a PT and got a BFN, and the next day AF arrived... 4 days worth, very heavy as usual. End of last week ov symptoms came bang on time (EWCM and ovary pain) but DH has been quite ill this month so hadn't even bothered with OPKs.. Monday he felt better so thought I would just PIAJ and try the OPK.. and as I was doing it thought I might just try a PT too.. no other reason than my boobs had been feeling a bit weird... didnt even pay attention to it first, was more surprised OPK was still positive, anyway PT was a BFP! I want to make clear I am not looking for congrats, and certainly don't want to rub salt into the wounds of those who are sick of hearing about BFPs. I just want to say even if AF does arrive, it does not necessarily count you out. I am now paranoid as after AF started I was still on hols so was drinking a fair amount, been taking aspirin for headaches (which I now know the reason for), and various other things as I was so certain I was not pregnant.

Anyway, just hoping I make the 12 weeks. If not will be back lurking here again with a vengeance. Good luck guys, and I guess from this experience I also recommend the SMEP plan for those that haven't tried it! Lots of love.xx

MrsLadyL · 25/09/2013 10:15

It just shows you! My opk have always been spot on expected o day. But last month got nothing but neg till almost one week last predicted O. So I thought I had completely messed up and was out. Since I got the (+) opk we only managed to DTD once I think and look BFP! It's goes to show every month is different. Good luck everyone sending lots of baby dust. Just hoping I have a sticker

StillWearingOddSocks · 25/09/2013 11:06

Hello all - I'm sort of new around this forum- I'm TTC2 and feel like I have been for over a year but desperately need a proper action plan- checking for egg white and DTD then, but really need some tips, desperately. Should I get a thermometer?

I feel so naive - in that you all seem to know exactly when you're ovulating etc - I don't even understand all the acronyms yet Blush

MrsLadyL · 25/09/2013 11:22

Iv been off birth control for around 1 year plus myself now. I started off with some cheapie strips off eBay ovulation strips that is. Got an app on my phone and started chatting my period. Used them to see if it was in sync varied a bit over the past year but worked out an average of a 28 day cylce since December. Then checked out all these forums joined a few got excellent tips from these lovely ladies. Did become obsessed so beware!! Gave up with it for two months or so..... Me and husband decided nothing was happening so sept was our month. Been taken multivitamins and folic acid too. Last cycle was off surpringly ovulated way later that was expected, done the whole DTD before O and day off and after .bit muddled and confused due to late O. And yes I just got my BFP yesterday!!!! It worked!! Good luck X

KeepTheCarRunning · 25/09/2013 11:26

Sorry about AF geta that sucks Sad
mrsL my edd is 3rd of June! Had check-in with my gp today and writing notes etc. It's beginning to dawn on me that it's really real. And I'm wiped out by nausea Envy euuugh

getagoldtoof · 25/09/2013 11:42

Hi punky - were opk and hpt touching when you tested? If so I would recommend retesting with a hpt alone. Otherwise, many congrats!

MrsLadyL · 25/09/2013 11:49

It's so exciting! Yes am plagued with nusea and head aches
[ confused ]

MrsLadyL · 25/09/2013 11:57

I am booked in nov with midwife. I'm terrified this time round to be honest. My daughter was born at 29weeks. Hoping and praying I go full term this time. That's why we have waited 5 years for #2 both a little scared it will happen again. Iv hear they can monitor you more or even stitch you're cervix? Anyone got any experience of this or know anything?
