This is a positive thread for all those diagnosed with High or Very High NK Cells and looking to start TTC or already pregnant on Prednisolone and/or Intralipid treatment.

Newcomers very much welcome!

scooter Welcome back! Crossing fingers that the bleeding is just "one of those things", what a pain that you can't get a scan today. Can't you go to your EPU and say that you're bleeding, they will usually do a scan for you straightaway?

sue So glad you're feeling a bit better, I do know what you mean about the weight off your shoulders. Not sure whether I'll be cycling again in January, because of DD's illness, but rooting for you when you do!

/waves to everyone, hope everyone's doing well (and choccy, progress report please? how are you?)

duggs1976 · 18/10/2013 12:13

Hello ladies -sue I'd love a wine. Scooter good to hear from you, just wish we didn't have to think back 2/ 3 yrs to first meeting up. I've had 2 losses on the pred treatment and a chemical so I'm not very hopeful either. Surrogacy is something I am seriously considering as I'm concerned about my health, physically, mentally and my marriage. If you have any info on it I am a little over whelmed tbh. I have an app 21 nov to see if I can do my NHS IVF cycle and i have been on hydroxy since my last mc in September but after that I think surrogacy has to be my route. Hope bleeding eases up and yes sue the list might be good as we really do need to keep track of these losses and any success is rare these days so let's get them visible. Some one pregnant could kick it off?

duggs1976 · 18/10/2013 12:15

Quick Q for sue - where did u have mid ov scans in bucks/berks? You have told me but I always forget x

suemays · 18/10/2013 14:44

duggs they are called Amersham sonographers based at Amersham hospital. Think it was around £60. There's also a scanning place in Marlow which is a bit more expensive.

scooterchaser · 18/10/2013 16:11

Thanks for good wishes.

I did get a scan with mixed news. Baby has heartbeat and 8weeks 2days which is fine for dates (if my calculations are a few days out which is likely). On the flip side, I have a 16cm cyst which is causing them a bit of concern and has to be checked out. Had blood tests to check it is not something more sinister and they will need to monitor it. Still in intermittent pain but bleeding has eased with homeopathic remedies. Have no idea what to think. Meant to be going for a much needed family holiday in Morocco (a week on Tuesday!) and DH is worried we will have to cancel it.
Why is nothing ever simple??

brownstag · 18/10/2013 18:11

What mixed emotions you must have, Scooter. Great news about the heartbeat and size. Is it an ovarian cyst or in the womb? Did you really mean 16cm?

suemays · 18/10/2013 18:29

Yes didn't you mean 16mm as 16cm would be massive? Its great you have seen a heartbeat though at over 8 weeks!

scooterchaser · 18/10/2013 18:46

16cm, yes it is that big. In the womb, not attached to an ovary. Feel very odd about it, but pleased to have seen the hb. Just another hurdle to overcome!

brownstag · 18/10/2013 20:06

Gosh. When did you last have a scan before today? Was this a natural pregnancy? Probably a fibroid?

scooterchaser · 18/10/2013 20:16

brownstag I had a scan following a miscarriage in June showing nothing. As I say seems very odd. Potentially a fibroid although wouldn't have fluid in it in that case, no?...I don't know much about them. All nine pregnancies and seven miscarriages were natural.

Any cyst/fibroid knowledge much appreciated!!

teamdozie · 19/10/2013 07:35

Morning everyone Village thank you

Scooter what good news about babys heartbeat! I'm afraid I have no knowledge of cysts but I hope its nothing sinister.

When will you find out?

X

BellyD · 19/10/2013 09:56

Hi all, sorry to have been so quiet, work has been flat out.

Sue glad you are getting some good rest after your op. I have all the exact same thoughts as you. How long can you keep on trying, what all the drugs are doing to your body, both short term and long term. Whilst there is still a chance I still feel like I have to try everything.

Free so sorry to hear about your mc. It is just so awful for you and I imagine having had DS you were perhaps a bit more hopeful you had cracked it. Hope you are getting on ok.

Scooter good news about the heartbeat/dates etc. The cyst sounds peculiar, hopefully the blood test will show it's nothing sinister.

team and baking hang on in there. Very impressed with your pma team - can you bottle it for sale by any chance?

Ari thinking if you and your DD.

Sue I think you asked, I am on day 3 stimms of second ivf attempt at ZW. Had 7 antral follicles on each ovary at downreg scan on Thurs so we shall see. Have been doing a month's sabbatical cover at school which has been a good distraction, but glad now to rest and focus on this. Perhaps last chance saloon for us before we look at other ways of having a family. All the success stories on here keep me going though, as it really does seem as that if you keep on trying you achieve your dream in the end.

Waves to everyone I've missed.

VillageMum · 19/10/2013 11:56

Scooter I remember reading once (when I had an ovarian cyst which I was worried about) that cysts in the womb are normally harmless. Fibroids can have a cyst-like appearance while they are growing but the size of yours (and fluid in it) suggests it really is a cyst, not a fibroid. Your doctors will probably want to see if it resolves by itself. Hope you are feeling ok and bleeding settling down.

suemays · 20/10/2013 12:03

Belly good luck with the IVF - I am still undecided on whether to throw money at it seeing as I had the abandoned cycle. Remind me - did you conceive naturally before this or is that why you are trying IVF? Will you try CGH if you get enough eggs?

Scooter I hope its nothing sinister and that the bleeding stops - how will they test the cyst without damage to the baby/womb?

brownstag · 20/10/2013 12:47

Sue, maybe you would respond better to IVF now you've taking DHEA for a few months. Have you restarted it? I am currently taking 12.5mg, a sixth of what I took before, and so far so good. I've still had all the good effects on cervical mucous, etc. but without the men's boils. I've also bought a DHEA saliva test which I really need to get round to doing...
Scooter, I did read that sometimes fibroids are fluid-filled when disintegrating. And also that fibroids have a very low risk of becoming cancerous.

suemays · 20/10/2013 15:08

Brown I have stopped taking everything at the moment (apart from the damned steroids) until I decide what I want to do. I might restart the DHEA. It's also the cost factor as we have spent a near fortune on supplements, scans, appointments and intrallipids over the last 4 years. I don't know if we can afford another round of IVF especially as it is doubtful if they could get enough eggs. If clomid can get 2-3 eggs at a go maybe that would be better for me?? I am sceptical that CGH would work for me.

freelancegirl · 20/10/2013 16:28

Hi all, Hope the cyst proves to be nothing to worry about scooter.

Sorry - just a quickie as finding it hard to concentrate.
I have an ERPC booked for tomorrow and am very much looking forward to it all being done with. I've felt so sick and horrible for weeks and this time really finding the steroids / tapering from 40mg hard work. Feeling very rough. Can't wait to get it all out my system and the thought of going through it all again - the drugs and the horrible firs trimester - is not very appealing.

Bakingtins · 20/10/2013 17:17

Good luck for tomorrow freelance

I feel yuck on the steroids too, though of course prepared for any amount of yuck if it works. We've just spent the afternoon with DH's godmother who is terminally ill. It's probably the last time we'll see her. Certainly puts my troubles into perspective though.

teamdozie · 20/10/2013 18:00

Good luck tomorrow Free hope it all goes well!

X

suemays · 20/10/2013 18:48

Good luck free you will feel much better once its out of the way. I was still getting morning sickness up until a few days ago. I have been tapering faster than normal - went from 40mg to 3 days of 30mg, 3 days of 20mg and will then do 3 days of 10mg and 3 of 5. Want to get off them ASAP.

BellyD · 20/10/2013 21:36

Good luck for tomorrow, Free. Will be thinking of you. x

freelancegirl · 20/10/2013 22:01

Yes im tapering as fast as possible too, did a bit i
Of a jump down to 25 as had no 5s but now got 5s so down to 20.

Buzzybee123 · 20/10/2013 22:34

free thinking of you tomorrow

scooter that is a mahoosive cyst Shock good news about the heartbeat

VillageMum · 21/10/2013 13:04

free hope your ERPC is plain sailing and that the sickness goes soon!

sue or duggs do you know of a clinic that offers CGH? I've had PGS(pre-implantation genetic screening) mentioned to me before at the Oxford Fertility Clinic, but I've read that CGH gives a much better view of all chromosomes and they don't do it here as far as I know.

team have things settled down for you now?

Luna hope all's well with you. Have just been to London to get HS11 test done. Have had to move my follow-up to 6 November, will be sorry not to be able to say hi on 28th!

Waves to everyone.

teamdozie · 21/10/2013 13:26

Hi everyone

village I thought they had but spotting seemed to be heavier today! But she told me to expect that! I just hope baby no2 is still ok!
I've been feeling incredibly nauseous! And I look ENORMOUS! I'm so bloated! I look 5 months pregnant! Is anyone else like that?

I'm also feeling incredibly anxious! Is that normal on the steroids?
