Anyone trying for no 3?

Going to start trying for a third in August, I already have a dd10 and a ds7. I don't mind a boy or a girl but if I could choose I would choose a girl as still have all dd gorgeous little dresses and cardigans don't know what happened to ds clothes!
Anyone else mad enough to try for a third??

Ah, sorry to hear that, three. Better luck this month! :)

I'm happy because got positive OPK a couple of hours before dh had to go away (till Friday) so had time to dtd before he went, and am crossing my fingers that might be enough! Guess I am in for the 2ww this month after all! ;D

ELR · 10/09/2013 14:48

Ooh that was lucky basil fingers crossed.
I informed DH this morning that we had to dtd again tonight so not to be late he actually moaned and said there is only so much sex a man can take!!
Ha ha he better make the most of it as soon as I get my BFP sex will be off the menu!! At least for a while anyway.....

Can I join ladies? Very exciting to be going for a third. Have two DDs, aged 5 and just turned 2.
Bit nerve-racking as took a while to conceive DD2. DD1 unplanned. DD2 13 long months so I think I may be here a while Grin.
Waiting for AF due within the week then will start trying.
Not gonna do any testing with OPK this time. Used CBFM last time and had very regular cycles. Get ovulation pain and EWCM so trying to be laid back about things and accept that I may be in for a long wait.
Good luck all!

Handsfullandlovingit · 11/09/2013 19:19

Hi ladies. Bfp here. Ooh er. Hope it is a sticky one. Good luck to you all.

basilafawlty · 11/09/2013 20:52

Yay, handsfull! Congratulations!

Wow, is this the most successful conception thread ever to grace mumsnet?? 'tis a lucky thread!

LOL at ELR. My dh is still in the all-too-glad-to-have-the-excuse phase, I think.

Welcome, wifeofgru, and good luck to you too! :)

ELR · 11/09/2013 21:03

Well done hands the chilled out approach on holiday must of done the trick or was that last month?
basil let's hope its the most successful!! We didn't manage to dtd lastnight after all DH was truly tired! I was slightly annoyed but tried not to let him know, he's just declared he's up for it tonight though, but I've turned him down! It's too bloody late now!!
Welcome wifeofgru
Good luck all.

Thanks Basil and ELR, less laid back holiday, more rabbits do Brittany! I haven't dared come near the thread for a couple of weeks, delayed testing for ages as have lost a few v early days. So stayed in lala land for as long as possible, until it would have been impossible to write off as a late period. I am wishing you both much luck this month, get those men into line! And wifeofgru, welcome and good luck to you too.

WifeofGru · 13/09/2013 13:56

Congratulations handsful. Wishing you a very healthy pregnancy. Here's to lots more on the thread.

ThreeGoMad · 16/09/2013 16:21

Hello all!

Yaaaaayyy - huge congrats Handsfull, what lovely news. Hope all goes well for you.

Good luck for this month ELR - we're the same here, feast to famine Wink

Welcome Wife! Similar here, we were lucky with DC1 but DC2 took 16 months so I'd reached the crying when other people announced their pregnancies stage/sobbing on the way home from parties etc - dreading that again :( Plus I now teach antenatal classes so can't exactly avoid pregnant women this time!

I'm very excited because I've just got a lovely positive OPK Grin Grin - was beginning to worry that I wasn't actually OVing at all because DC2 is still nursing quite a lot at night, so am delighted to have something to show that I am :)

ELR · 16/09/2013 18:36

Woohoo three lots of happy shagging for you over the next few days! Think I'm about 5/6 dPO my nipples feel abit tingly and I've had belly ache all day.... Trying not to symptom spot after last month! Ad every symptom going and got bfn followed by af so goes to show its all in the head!!

Fingers crossed ELR!

Congratulations hands!

Dh and I in our waiting t ttc are becoming more sure and have more concrete plans now so that's exciting. Roll on 2014 now!

WifeofGru · 17/09/2013 00:43

Hello all,

Almost excited or AF to arrive cos then we can begin TTC!!
Agree three with being anxious about going ack to all those horrible emotions when it takes a while to get PG. Am just going to focus on enjoying my 2 wonderful DDs, wine, pâté, soft cheese, non PG wardrobe and not be so obsessed this time around.
Should have AF in next day or two so will be DTD soon!
Hope all surviving 2 week wait, DTD etc.

charleslingus · 17/09/2013 09:41

Congrats handsful, hope you are feeling ok? Wishing you a healthy pregnancy! Hi everyone else and welcome anyone joining us. Haven't been on in ages!

I'm on month 4 now, which feels like added pressure as dc 1 took no time at all and #2 took 4 months, so I'm scared I will expect it as a given that it will happen this month, which obviously will build up to major disappointment if I'm not.

Need to remember I'm 10 yrs older now though and to chill out as it might be a long haul this time.

Anyway, not thinking about it too much atm, just in the early bit of smep armed with opks and last month's knowledge that I can ov earlier than I thought. Only did it once before ov last month (lots on ov and day after, but now know that before is way more important)

Going to just give it our all and hope!

RoseHoney · 17/09/2013 10:35

Can I join the madness?

I'm 21 and have 2 boys, an almost 4 year old and a 21 month old! We've been ttc for 2 months, testing day is today! Keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm glad I'm not the only lunatic trying for a 3rd Grin

WifeofGru · 17/09/2013 14:23

Good luck with the testing rose. And welcome.

RoseHoney · 18/09/2013 15:31

Thankyou Gru, haven't tested yet but think its not my month anyway Hmm

ThreeGoMad · 19/09/2013 23:43

Hello and good luck Rose :)

Am on 2WW. Hate 2WW

basilafawlty · 20/09/2013 08:27

Hi all

I'm on 2ww too and feel so nauseous it's almost unbearable, so have got my hopes up a bit. I even confess to testing insanely early - it was, unsurprisingly, negative. Not due till Wednesday.

I know some (most?) people think it's mad to test before you're supposed to, but I find it actually lessens disappoint by letting me down gradually if I start testing about 6 days before AF is due - I can then start "Well it would be negative this early", and move through "It would probably be negative this early", "It might not show positive yet", "Okay, it prob would show positive by now but there's still a chance", to "Nope, not pregnant" as the days roll on. As internet cheapie tests are only about 10p per test, it feels worth it to me - I by far prefer that kind of gradual let down to a build up to testing day and then the anticlimax of a definite negative.

ELR · 20/09/2013 12:04

basil I could have written your post! I tested this morning but got bfn not due on till wed/thurs so there is hope for both of us yet!! I totally get you about the gradual disappointment, it softens the blow somewhat. Also we are all so lucky to already have 2 children each that kind of softens the blow too!
Good luck everyone still on the 2ww!

I'm trying for number 3 and i'm on month 5.DTD 10days ago on last day of normal af,yesterday i had stabby ovary pain, spotted a few ours later and still having a little bleed.I concieved my 2nd lo on last day of AF so hoping my second bleed is a good sign.Won't get my hopes up though. It took 11months to concieve my 1st lo andlonger with my second

basilafawlty · 20/09/2013 20:35

Good luck, ELR and sheldor!

Yeah, believe me, I know how lucky I am to have my two girls. I will never forget the years of trying for dd1 and the terror that it would never happen - horrible! This time there could be disappointment and anticlimax but it will never even begin to the soul shattering experience of trying for my first. I'd never wish that on anyone! This is okay because while a third would be such a wanted blessing, I already had my prayers answered with my two dds and so I'll still feel lucky and blessed even if it doesn't work this time. :)

sheldor · 21/09/2013 10:52

Well i thought my second bleed might be a good sign.Think it's too much to be ovulation bleeding or implantation bleeding.Strange none the less.

basilafawlty · 21/09/2013 11:50

I think it sounds like a good sign, sheldor. Only time will tell though - 2ww is horrible!

sheldor · 21/09/2013 12:00

It is isn't it?It's only the fact that i concieved dd on last day of Af that i thought it fits in with inplantation bleeding timing, but it's a flow but light. It's strange because i had uncomfy stabby pain hours before i bled.I always have period pain and it higher up.

WifeofGru · 22/09/2013 01:33

Hello all, well cd5 here so about to start TTC. It's my birthday today so would be lovely to get pregnant with another LO this year.
Am overseas by the way hence the post late at night. It's evening time here on Saturday.
I know what you all mean about the pressure being off a bit for a third cos they really would be a blessing if it happens.
off to watch Breaking Bad Series 2 on Netflix.
