Me for baby number 2! Should be ovulating any day now Smile

Sarahmains40 · 28/07/2013 20:29

I started this month so hope AF won't come in August. I was really excited when deciding to TTC I just hope it doesn't take too long because I'm obsessed already I hope you get a BFP Real soon xx

VJONES1985 · 29/07/2013 13:59

I stopped taking the pill last week so August will be our first proper month of TTC. I am 28 and have been on the pill for 12 years solid so I'm very worried about problems conceiving (this will be our first baby). I've heard that a hormone surge coming off the pill can mean conception happens quickly but have also heard it can take one to two years for the cycle to settle down properly. As a control freak and a worrier, I'm already obsessing over this and scared that we will encounter problems! As a type one diabetic, I am already on vitamins and a high dose of folic acid.

Any TTC tips or words of encouragement? Am glad I have others going through this with me. Am I right in thinking that sex every two days is a good aim for conception? Thanks, Vicky

Me!

We decided back at the end of June to ttc, but due to the timing of my AF and an unfortunate hospital visit putting me out of action during this months fertile period, we will be cycle 1 ttc #1 in August.

Although I'm a bit disappointed we have "wasted" 5/6 weeks - I seem to have learnt a lot. Reading this forum, and doing the FF course has taught me loads plus I started temping, so I feel a bit more in tune with my body.

Fingers crossed everyone!

Vicky - every other day should be a good approach (I think). There's no way DH and I could commit to that all month with our hectic work schedules (!) but if you can - go for it.
I've decided to temp to try and establish my fertile week each month and we will just try to make more of an effort that week of the month!

jaykay987 · 29/07/2013 14:50

Ooh...forgot to add. I still have awhile to wait for AF, so won't be due a BFP til around 10th September.

VJONES1985 · 29/07/2013 15:43

Good luck!

Yes, I am also planning to work out when I am ovulating by looking at changes in discharge (sorry about TMI!) but I don't know when I will actually ovulate, if at all, because I have literally only just come off the pill. I may not have a period for a long time but am trying to stay positive and hope that I have that fertility surge people talk about when stopping the pill.

Empriscillavoss · 29/07/2013 18:47

Hey I came off the pill in April and have had 3 periods since then. I was on it for about 10 years and the changes I noticed is that your periods are much lighter and shorter and my cycle was around 42 days so don't panic if AF takes longer to arrive! I thought I was pregnant straight away lol! We aren't waiting for ovulation week we are just doing the deed as much as possible all month lol :) good luck everyone! Come on baby #2 :D x

Oh, that's good to know :) Yes, we're going to do it every two days where possible but it'd be nice to increase this when I think I'm ovulating too!

Empriscillavoss · 29/07/2013 22:24

Yeah we probably will do the same that week too! :) what pill were you using? X

Microgynon for years, then Ovranette. Does the pill brand make a difference?

VJONES1985 · 30/07/2013 07:17

And what were you taking?

coco808 · 30/07/2013 12:44

Started TTC for our first! Looking forward to taking the test on the 17th of August I hope. I'm 32 and already getting desperate for a BFP!!

jaykay987 · 30/07/2013 13:41

I'm 32 as well.

Will this be your first?

jaykay987 · 30/07/2013 13:42

Sorry! Just re-read your message!

Are you excited? 32 on paper seems so old, yet I don't feel I'm late to starting a family. I only just feel I have everything else in life sorted out!

Do many of your friends already have children?

Tea1Sugar · 30/07/2013 14:56

I'm ttc no 2 Smile have been dtd every other day and I think today is ovulation day so will jump dp tonight then sit back and wait to test on the 11th!

ELR · 30/07/2013 15:02

Wow there is quite a few of us. Am I the only mad one trying for a 3rd?
Just bought some frolic acid has anyone started taking it yet?

jaykay987 · 30/07/2013 15:04

I'm taking pregnacare which includes my elevated folic acid. I've nearly done a month. Though think you're officially supposed to have three months in your system first.

KittyKK · 30/07/2013 15:09

Yes, me too. I'll be POAS lots of times on 7/8/9/10/11th August! Thankfully I bought 30 very cheap tests online :)

Good luck all x

VJONES1985 · 30/07/2013 15:13

I don't know when I ovulate as I've only just come off the pill but am planning on doing a pregnancy test only if I think I'm pregnant. Otherwise it could get rather expensive! Sounds like there's a lot of us in it together this month then!

internationallove985 · 30/07/2013 15:27

I will be if I don't get my B.F.P this month. I've been ttc since April. My period is due on Thursday if it hasn't arrived I will test on around Friday. I'm tempted to test now but I'll try and be a bit more patient. xxx

bellagiulietta · 30/07/2013 15:29

I stopped taking the pill last week too I am 30 and my husband is 29 and have been on the pill (microgynon) for just shy of 7 years. We'll have been married for two years in November (and a couple for 7) and we are soooooo excited to start trying. I've been taking regular multi-vitermines and an extra folic acid supplement four about six months, and I will start on the pregnacare pre-conception his and hers pack this week. I've also come off my medication for ADD, so it all feels real now!

VJONES1985 · 30/07/2013 15:40

Like you, I'm on the Pregnacare supplements (and prescription dose of folic acid because I'm diabetic). I'm excited but also quite anxious about it all.
