I'm on Pregnacare too (as well as prescription folic acid because I'm diabetic). I'm excited but also pretty anxious - partly because I don't know what to expect and also because I'm a control freak so find it hard to deal with something being beyond my control.

VJONES1985 · 30/07/2013 16:06

Sorry, didn't mean to post twice!

Empriscillavoss · 31/07/2013 09:36

Yea I was on microgynon for 6 years and had no side effects when I stopped the first time and my periods and cycle went back to normal straight away! Got put on cerezette?? And got pregnant almost straight away! After giving birth thought I'd go back on microgynon but this time when I came off I've had all the side effects and around 42 days cycles which is making TTC rather difficult lol

Hi, I'm also 28 and looking forward to TTC #1 in Aug Smile Had Nexplanon removed 26Jul and was informed by GP that most people ovulate within a month of removal, and some can take up to 6mths, reading some of the threads on Mumsnet some are reporting up to a year, so who knows?! I'm the impatient sort so hopefully it won't take that long, but it'll be what it'll be I suppose...
Has anyone else had any issues with nausea/insomnia/low mood immediately after having Nexplanon removed? Been feeling awful for the past few days (although it may be down to me having cut right back on NRT this pas week in prep for TTC?)

Good luck everyone xxx Grin

VJONES1985 · 31/07/2013 10:12

Hi crownjewels - we're both 28 and trying for baby #1 so lots of luck to you!

I'm afraid I'm already obsessing and can't stop reading baby books. They make me sad that I'm not pregnant and that I don't know what the future holds but they also make me feel more in control. Can't believe I'm like this in week 1 of TTC!!

VJONES1985 · 31/07/2013 10:13

Empricillavoss - what is Cerezette?

Tea1Sugar · 31/07/2013 10:26

Im 26, dp is 32 we're ttc no 2, our dd is 3. I came off mercilon in June, my period returned after 25days and then we started straight away. We are now officially in our two week wait, roll on 11th August so I can test! We'll be abroad then and I've already packed four tests! Oh and an April baby would be preferable please spermies as I'm a teacher and it would be helpful to leave at the end of term!

VJONES1985 · 31/07/2013 10:28

Ha ha, I'm a teacher too!

I hope I don't sound silly here but why do lots of you talk about testing on a certain date? I thought I would just wait to see if my period arrives or not..?

Crownjewel · 31/07/2013 10:31

Thanks vjones1985 - good luck to you too hun Smile
Not letting myself read any pregnancy/baby books yet as they' only make me more impatient... but I must admit I do get a bit excited when I think about the nausea/hot flashes etc and wonder whether they just might be early pregnancy symptoms, but I have to tell myself it's more than likely the hormones leaving my system (Nexplanon for 15mths, Depo for 6mths immediately before, so there's probably a lot of hormones to come out before I'm back to normal!) or the bloody NRT playing havoc with my mind (stopped smoking 15mths ago when implant first went in, been on about 20mg/day ever since, decided to knock it right down to 6mg last week so my body's probably in shock!)
Going to see when things start to settle down and test 23Aug if AF doesn't make an appearance first...
BTW Pregnacare - is it just me or does it make anyone else's wee bright green?! Sorry if TMI, berocca did the same and just wondered whether it was some sort of vitamin thing that causes it?! xxx

Tea1Sugar · 31/07/2013 10:34

Vjones - your test date is the same as your period due date.

Ha I've heard of it going bright yellow but not green! I'm on Seven Seas Trying for a Baby but my wee is regular coloured I'm afraid Grin

VJONES1985 · 31/07/2013 10:37

I see. Well, I'm not sure when to test because, as I said, I haven't had a 'natural' period yet after coming off the pill, so perhaps I'll leave it about four weeks if AF doesn't appear first.

As for green wee, I haven't noticed to be honest! But will definitely have a look next time!

Empriscillavoss · 31/07/2013 10:55

It's just a different brand of pill :)

OP posts:
VJONES1985 · 31/07/2013 11:03

Ah right. Well, I'm feeling a lot better about coming off the pill after reading accounts on here - of course some women's cycles took a long time to return but it doesn't seem to necessarily matter that I've been on microgynon/ovranette for 12 years :)

Keden · 31/07/2013 19:54

We've just attempted a trial run* TTC# this month. I ovulate tomorrow and have DTD Sun, Mon, Tue & will try again tonight for good measure.

VJONES, I stopped taking the pill in Dec-12 after 7yrs on. I was on OrthoTricyclen Lo. It took 2months for my periods to become "regular".

*I say Trial Run because I just can't get myself to believe it will happen right away. I figure I've spent my entire adult life trying NOT to get pregnant, that it'd be crazy if it happens just like that! Silly, I know :-?

VJONES1985 · 31/07/2013 20:20

Keden - that is exactly how I feel. I can't quite believe it's finally happening, after twelve years on the pill and no pregnancy scares whatsoever, I kind of wonder if something's going to go wrong!

ItalianWiking84 · 31/07/2013 20:26

Hi all, is it possible for me to join in?

I am 29 years old, and came off the pill in end April and had my first normal period end may. We have first now started proper to trying to get me pregnant, and this is my first month where I have bought conception tests and tried figuring out the dates online
I hope this month will be the month
By the way I am not native English so not so familiar with all the activation yet
Hope I can join in?

VJONES1985 · 31/07/2013 20:32

If you're trying for a baby this month, then I think you're a member of the club :)

ItalianWiking84 · 31/07/2013 20:38

Vjones1985, I am defn trying for a baby this month...

Looking in to pregnacare now, never heard about it before. I take folic acid, vitamin a and iron
But perhaps I should try pregnacare

Thanks :)

VJONES1985 · 31/07/2013 20:42

If you take pregnacare, you won't need to take vit A and iron as well, as pregnacare contains those.

ItalianWiking84 · 31/07/2013 20:44

Aha perhaps I should pop down to my tesco and get some

Can see they are also made for the men, any who has experience with them? :)

Kirstoll · 31/07/2013 21:36

Hello! Can I join your club :) we've had 'the talk' for A while now and we are now officially TTC as of yesterday!
DD is 3 in October and I'm 25 in dec.... Fingers crossed for strong swimmers!!

coco808 · 31/07/2013 21:37

Such a lovely bunch of people! I don't feel so alone in my anxiety now. Yeah jaykay987, first month trying and already the pressure is on. Most of my friends have children and none of them seemed to have been worried or anxious when they were trying.
Quick question- should I take the pregnacare everyday or only when I think I am ovulating? Thank you

VJONES1985 · 31/07/2013 21:43

Pregnacare everyday.

coco808 · 31/07/2013 21:44

thank you!

ELR · 31/07/2013 22:08

Hi italian I have just checked on NHS direct and it says that you should not take vitamin A if pregnant as it could be harmful to your baby. If I was you I would check with your doctor. Obviously I don't know your medical history so there ay be a perfectly good reason why you take it, in which case ignore me! Good luck this month to everyone I have just started my period today so in a week or so I will be officially trying!!
