SOL - no there is bding going on. Dh is away from home on weekdays. Just me and my ds, who has come down with a bad headcold and cough, so he is currently using the vaporiser!!! I wish I had one of these when I was growing up - my life would have been much healthier. I am OK at the moment - my sinuses just flare up regularly so I am really watching my diet - full of fruit, vegies and nuts and seeds and avoiding sugar and chocolate. By doing this, my sinuses seem to settle down. I am on CD17, so I am playing the waiting game too. Trying to not think about possible symptoms - just keeping myself busy - like 3 months worth of ironing to get through.

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 12:37

piffle am keeping everything crossed for you - let's hope this turns out to be a positive thread as well.

wb pussycat glad you've decided to come back and join us.

Trace hope your dog's ok. Mine spent best part of a week on a drip in September last year. thought I was going to lose her, or at least have to retire her but she was fine after, just a bit delecate in terms of digestion. when they send him home they'll likely give you some food called ID to feed him, it's in tins and has the consistency of glu. It's horrible. most dogs actually don't like it and I found that mixing it with chicken and rice made it go down a lot better and also saved a lot of money as it's very expensive.

coggy · 12/07/2006 12:41

Yeah!! I'm on the thread again...but not for long as I've just tested and BFN.

Have been feeling sick for nearly a week and got sore boobs - never happens normally so I got excitied and stupidly tested!! Never mind...

Piffle...I do hope this is the time for you.

WannaBe...what breed of dog do you have? Is it a greyhound? Trying to work out the 'retire it' bit!! I've got a retired greyhound but she's rather naughty!!

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 12:51

coggy what cd are you on - could you have tested too early?
dog is a lab, she's a guide dog (well is retired now) hence the retiring bit.

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 12:52

ah have just backtracked and see you're on .. cd27? still ve early to get a bfp - don't give up hope yet

Piffle · 12/07/2006 12:55

I've got 2 jack russell puppies I'd be gutted if they got ill too. I love them to bits!
I'm cautiously optimistic thx ladies

coggy · 12/07/2006 12:55

wannaBe - last month AF came on CD26 and we really haven't BD'ed much at all this month because DH has been away. But you still hope don't you??!!

I have resigned myself to the fact I am not and annoyed that I tested cause I should know better!!!

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 12:55

aw did you get two in the end? I remember when you were getting one.

coggy · 12/07/2006 12:57

On a positive note....the August thread is so much shorter at the moment that I won't have to keep shouting at my computer for not letting me load it properly!!!!

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 12:57

I seriously don't think it can be my month this month - after the way I blew up at ds this morning and ended up crying myself, it's gotta be pmt, lol.

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 12:59

we all know better most of the time though coggy, and in these instances hearts rule heads.

coggy · 12/07/2006 13:01

It's such a waste of money thought isn't it?
I am beginning to justify the expense by classing it as a hobby!!!!! LOL!!!

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 13:03

hahhaa, i think we should all have shares in clearblue. oh how I wish I'd been the one who'd thought of inventing a home pg test, I'd be minted by now.

Piffle · 12/07/2006 13:32

I dig the ebay cheap strips, on lots of them you get awesome evaporation lines to torment yourself with as well - added bonus
More fun than a playground
NOT

Piffle · 12/07/2006 14:34

I'm being such a twit, I tested again due to obsessive paranoia.
It cmae up as anice fat pale pink line
With my chemicals the line was always faint and never showed up before 14dpo.
I am starting to believe I might be given a chance here.
I am going to cry
36 mths of ttc #3 and I could be there...

coggy · 12/07/2006 14:47

Oh I do hope so Piffle...that would be so good.
X

sometimenever · 12/07/2006 15:33

Oooooh Piffle, how exciting for you!. Im keeping everything crossed for you!

I have booked an appt to see GP on mon to see what he says about my very irregular AF. Have got DH coming with me too as I figured that the doc may want to see us both anyway, even if he thinks its me thats got the problem. Does anybody know what they will do at a first appt about poss fertility problems? Not been trying very long but figured as I dont have a clue if Im even OV then would be best to go sooner rather than later!
Sorry for babbling!!!!

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 15:42

piffle I am keeping everything crossed here. and you have to know by Friday because on Saturday I'm going away for a week and the suspense will kill me.

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 15:44

well am spotting slightly again, and there is some cm in there - I think I just have to put it down to being a very light af, like the one I had a couple of months ago. ve irritating. was sure I had ovulated this month.

Does anyone know, if dh turns out to have a low sperm count, is there anything they can actually do about it?

Piffle · 12/07/2006 15:57

wannabe my cousins dh had very low and immobile sperm count with lots of malformed sperm. He had een in the army and had exposure to various chemicals that could affect fertiltiy
He was put on a special diet high in certain things, selenium and zinc being two of the things, it takes 72 days from what I recall her telling em at the time for sperm to be regenerated. so you fix now for sperm in 72 days
Now they had no luck after 6 mths although his count had improved dramatically and were offered IVF which they tried two cycles of before deciding they would adopt.
Booked skiing holiday and came back pregnant - through natural causes
They now have 3 babies. So in some cases it can be helped

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 16:01

ya know, someone really should do some serious research into why it is that if a couple gives up trying, it appears to become easier to get pregnant. there are so many stories of people who have been through IVF cycles/ trying for years/given up and almost as soon as they focus on something else they fall pregnant. Obviously that doesn't happen for everyone, but it does appear to be quite a common finominon.

Piffle · 12/07/2006 16:07

there was that study in Israel mentioned the other week - they put clowns into fertility clinics and the conception rates shot up.
If I am really pregnant I think having that fertility clinic appt last week would not be a coincidence, almost like you're giving up and trying something else. something also I swore I would never do... take fertility drugs.
Life is weird
And it makes me wonder about kids who were just meant to be here, like my ds who appeared as bfp while I was on the pill and had been using condoms!!

trace2 · 12/07/2006 16:21

og this thread is getting very poative i can feel it,
wannbe, dont give up until shes here, and as for dh sperm, wait and see!, my friends dh had a low spern count and she had poco, and they got a ds whos on here, and my dh took zinc, it is surpossed to work

Piffle , i am so hoping its a good +,

coggy, i thought ytou ovulated late, so if you did its too early to test, i remember with ds i was a week over af befor i got the +

sometimenever, good dh is coming with you to gp, they like to see that

wannaBe1974 · 12/07/2006 16:58

I'm not getting my hopes up just on spotting as did that last time and it was a nightmare. as far as im concerned this is just a ve light af and I have no intentions of testing any time.

But I'm really really happy this has been such a positive thread for some, esp trace and piffle, I think it's great that two people who have been trying for so long have both got bfp's in one month. Coggy am not giving up hope for you either yet.

How's the dog now trace?

trace2 · 12/07/2006 17:13

not good the vet said its not looking good, so ive asked if we can see him, he thinks i should wait because being so ill, when we leave can make him worse, so worried about him
