Wow, wim that is a load of stuff you're on, makes my drugs look like nothing! Was the prontogest injection ok, I remember the 1st time DH had to do the gestone he was all shaky and sweaty at the thought of it. Look forward to hearing your embie news.

twinks good plan re work and glad that you are feeling more positive Smile

Have a fab holiday tame and hope you can come back rejuvenated Smile we will miss you though Crown

beetle mr whippy, yum! I think you and maybe are right about the progesterone side effects, but I didn't write anything down last time about how I was feeling so I have nothing to compare it to. How are the jabs going?

fab hope your scan goes well today

brooker how are you doing? Are you still uncomfortable?

nobeer · 25/07/2013 08:56

Beetle I've got a scan tomorrow to see how my ovaries are doing and to see if I'm ready for FET. I'm going to ask them about the dates, as I don't want it to interfere with our holiday(!) and to explain the figures they sent us re the EC and then embryo development before freezing them.
Btw I can't remember the last time I had a Mr Whippy. Jealous!

Fabuluce · 25/07/2013 09:10

Mr whippy - wow!! I'm thinking dairy is good though :)

So would it be fair to say you have a bit of a thing about beetles then Beetle??

I think diet is mucho important for this game - protein is the big one of course along with lots of green leafy stuff and multicoloured veg. I'm trying to get as much protein as I can from non meat items (beans pulses nuts seeds etc) as it's healthier plus DH has high cholesterol and I don't like fish (apart from tuna - I know I'm a weirdo!) so our main animal sources are chicken, turkey, eggs and dairy. I have porridge with a nana, seeds, Brazil nuts and pecans for breaky followed by either a hummus & salad wrap or an omelette with some veg and beans on the side and then I try to be as creative as possible for dinner and if all else fails I'll just chuck in some lentils to whatever I'm cooking! Downside is that it is rubbish for maintaining my weight as I'd need to be doing insane amounts of exercise to counter all this protein but I figure I'm trying to grow a human so I need as much of the building blocks in there as possible to give the follicles the ability to grow, then for an embie to grow and morph into a baby. It's all good stuff!

I'm currently in a health food gaff having done my bloods and now killing time til my scan. I'm drinking something that quite frankly looks disgusting but has mixed berries, apple, mango, mint and spirulina which has basically turned it black!!! Surprisingly tasty for something that looks like darkly dark green sludge!

Fabuluce · 25/07/2013 09:12

Oh and progesterone vag tabs were my worst thing last time. The side effects are the same symptoms of AF and pregnancy so they're a real mind fuck plus they're just icky and slimy and no matter what you do they always ooze out Hmm a necessary evil unfortunately.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 25/07/2013 09:14

Morning all!

Nobeer, I'll be there in a couple of hours Wink

How'd the injection go Wim? Any news yet?

I never knew that Beetle!

Have an amazing holibobs Tame

How are you doing today Twinks? When is OTD?

Wimwom · 25/07/2013 10:49

Hello!

I now have cravings for mr whippy ice cream beetle - it's dairy protein though which is how I justify everything at the moment!

So.... Injection last night was done with a steady hand - and was fine at the time, but OMG does my ass hurt now!!! My cons said I would have one everyday if I get preg till 10-12 weeks.... There's no way my ass can take it. There's nothing to see but bugger me it's sore.

In the far more important and exciting news.... 8 embies still going, 7 are 2-4 cells, 1 is 1 cell but she said they would keep it going today as it was showing signs it might catch up (that one clearly has my slower genes!) and then decide tomorrow. She did say though that as my FSH is quite high I need to think about assisted hatching as the outer shell could be quite hard and whether we want that done before transfer (sun or mon she thinks) apparently the main risk is 2-3% chance of identical twins. Any thoughts?! Am now going to google it extensively no doubt. Thank you all so much for being here - I've no one else to tell today as DH is out of reach in a meeting and I needed to tell someone. X

chocolocodowninacapulco · 25/07/2013 10:58

Well done wim that's great news about your embros Grin. I don't know anything about assisted hatching, sorry.

Fabuluce · 25/07/2013 11:05

Fabulous news Wim - c'mon little one Smile

I'm afraid I know now't in the assisted hatching world but will have a peruse of google too. 2-3% is pretty small fry tho in terms of the twins thing - I don't think id be bothered by that but then I've got my head around the idea of twins already anyway Smile

My scan went well - have 11 follies - largest is 15 with 5 of them almost the same size and the rest more around the 9 mark. Next scan Saturday. Bring on the protein - c'mon my beauties!!

nobeer · 25/07/2013 11:26

wim that's great! Good luck investigating assisted hatching. no idea what that means, but I have an image of someone gently tapping a bird's egg shell to let out the little chick!

fab I'm liking the sound of your follies! Well done you! I recommend home made smoothies with yogurt or milk in them. Oh, and hardboiled eggs and tuna in salad!

chocolocodowninacapulco · 25/07/2013 11:27

Well done fab, great news about the follies. Your diet does sound super healthy, have you thought of bringing out a recipe book for healthy IVF eating? I reckon you'd be on to a winner Wink

twinklestar2 · 25/07/2013 11:50

well done wim! I'd for the assisted hatching if you need it. It means they crack the outer layer of the egg first so the sperm has more chance of getting in. Is it ICSI or IVF you're having?

fab - eggs are an amazing food for us IVFers. they are full of protein, zinc and loads of other stuff I read about in my Zita West book!

I'm doing better today, thanks for asking. Got some FRERs coming in the post so will test when they arrive.

Wimwom · 25/07/2013 11:56

fab that sounds like a great scan result! Well done you! Keep going with the protein.

Wimwom · 25/07/2013 11:58

twink not long till testing then....
I think you're right, if they're suggesting hatching then I should do it. Twins would be ok!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 25/07/2013 12:03

Great news Wim. The assisted hatching means theyremovethe outer layer of the egg so that the blastocyst can escape easier. I'd def go for it as it will aid implantation.

Glad you're doing better Twinks.

Great scan news Fab

Fabuluce · 25/07/2013 12:36

Ooh now that's an idea! I must admit to having got a lot of influence from Emma cannon's baby making bible but there's nothing really around what to do during the cycle is there....hmmmm....

Fabuluce · 25/07/2013 12:36

Fabuluce · 25/07/2013 12:38

Fab foods to help buns bake??

twinklestar2 · 25/07/2013 13:08

I'm such a dickhead! I am finding it extremely hard not to test all morning. I have some tests in the house (not FRERs). I keep weeing quickly so that I cant do it.

I just thought sod it, I'm gonna test so went upstairs and weed in the first thing I could find - the lid of OHs shaving foam. Put it on the side, go to get a test, come back and all the wee has run out of a hole in the lid!!!!! That'll teach me hey!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 25/07/2013 13:12

Oh Twinks you poor thing, but that has made me Grin. How many days post transfer are you? It really is better to wait for FMU. It avoids unnecessary stress x

nobeer · 25/07/2013 13:29

so so sorry to laugh twinks! Are you going to give the lid a quick rinse or 'fess up to DH? Grin Grin]

PramelaAndherson · 25/07/2013 13:33

Twinks, I tested at 7 days past 5 day transfer in the afternoon after an impulsive panic like yours. I almost, almost threw the stick in my jungle of a garden in order to not know the results. It is worse than ripping open your 'A' level results. But, you know in your heart of hearts it is time to test. If you're pregnant you will get a very faint line from this afternoon's wee, but it will be there. Go and do it x

PramelaAndherson · 25/07/2013 13:34

[waves to all t'other slags] You are all doing brilliantly. I love you xxx

Hi Beetle I've got my baseline appointment tomorrow. So I guess I'll find out then. They have given my a full schedule of the cycle and according to that I should start stimming at the beginning of next week. All this depends on the appointment tomorrow though.

Right now I'm trying to avoid eating as I have to be weighed tomorrow!

Twinks when is your OTD?

Wim that sounds close to the odds of getting twins from a 'regular' conception anyway.
