Wim brilliant news on the fertilisation x

Nobeer I second talking to the clinic in case they can tweak things for you. It's crap having to constantly calculate and guess when you need to be free. It's our friends wedding this Saturday (a bloody 5 hour drive away), we won't know until Friday if there is any chance we can go. I'm gutted about missing it.

Twinks glad to hear you have been reading some positive stories. I've yet to hear that anyone in there 2ww from IVF thought it had worked. There is no way to know its too early. Keep telling yourself there is no reason why it won't work, you have got a well developed emby on board xxx

I was totally surprised when the nurse said trigger could be Saturday. Especially seeing as I've not had any blood results or scan yet. I really doubt it will be that early.

nobeer · 24/07/2013 14:40

Thanks brooker and cups. We've got an appointment on Friday for a scan, so we'll tell them which dates we'd rather not do. We've already missed a weekend away as I was stimming and they wanted to do scans and bloods every day. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you cups that you can get to your friends' wedding.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/07/2013 15:28

Sorry you're feeling stressed Nobeer. I second what others have said and just have a chat with the clinic. After all, what matters the most is that you are relaxed and happy going into FET.

Twinks I was convinced things hadn't worked. Getting a BFP was the biggest surprise ever. Twinges are completely normal x

resipsa · 24/07/2013 15:32

Wim 8 is great (and I'm a poet etc). It's likely to mean choices which can be hard to make but better, IMO, than having no choice. That's my profundity for today.

Fabuluce · 24/07/2013 18:39

Dinner tonight - avocado pesto pasta with garlic chilli chicken. Just saying.

Wimwom · 24/07/2013 19:02

Ooooh sounds fab fab!

Quick question - today when the embryologist rang she literally just said 8 fertilised, did I have any questions? What should I be asking? I presume tomorrow there will be more to know - but anything I should be checking? What would you want to know?

Start the new injections tonight - more nervous about these than the last ones!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/07/2013 19:09

Ooh, that sounds immense Fab! We've got a steak salad!

Wim just ask how many cells they are and whether there is any fragmentation. Luckily my injections stopped after EC!

twinklestar2 · 24/07/2013 19:33

Wim, perhaps ask if they are thinking of taking them to 3 day or 5 day?

OP posts:
twinklestar2 · 24/07/2013 19:33

What are the new injections for, wim?

OP posts:
nobeer · 24/07/2013 19:39

I've invited some friends over and we're having red pepper hummus, Iberian ham, mozarella, tomato and basil, potato, tuna and rocket salad, and stuffed courgette.

nobeer · 24/07/2013 19:40

ooh, I have a question. What does fragmentation mean?

nobeer · 24/07/2013 19:44

posted too soon. Got a report re my treatment from the clinic and it said %frag in one of the columns - either 5 or 0. Another says Cél/Estadio which I guess means state of cells, they vary from 6 to 8 to 10. More questions for the clinic on Friday!

chocolocodowninacapulco · 24/07/2013 19:47

Have just had lush M and S pizza Blush but with lots of lovely homegrown salad Those dinners sound gorgeous

wim nothing to add about questions for the embryologist really, the girls have already given you some very good advice. How are you feeling today?

twinks how was your trip out today?

Does anyone have any insights into the side effects of various drugs please? I am on gestone, prednisolone and clexane and trying to work out which is most likely to be making me feel so tired and generally a bit bleurgh and, please, someone slap me and tell me I can't possibly be having symptoms as 'I'm going slightly mad' Confused

chocolocodowninacapulco · 24/07/2013 19:49

nobeer that all sounds gorgeous too. Fragmentation is to do with how many bits fragment or break off as the embryos divide and increase in cells, I think ...

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/07/2013 20:01

I have no idea Chocco, I wasn't on any of them!! Put I was and still am excruciatingly tired at times!! Your pizza sounds yummy!

Nobeer can I come to yours for dinner too?! Fragmentation is as Chocco says, I think it's as the cells divide, they sometimes don't do it 'cleanly' if that makes sense. I don't know how they score it though

Wimwom · 24/07/2013 20:11

Thanks for the questions - I have written them by the phone to make sure I ask in the morning. I felt fab up till lunch time, then felt bit crampy and tired this pm. Not done the work I should be doing from home (but omitted to tell my boss I am already well ahead!)
choci think it would be either the steroids or the progesterone making you feel bleugh. My money would be on progesterone...
twink new injections are heparin to keep me blood thin and prontogest to make me a warm snugly place for an embie. Am also on crinone and progynova as my cons thinks I have a low progesterone issue. Add in some aspirin and vitamins and that's my lot. I'm scared of the prontogest as it's into a muscle therefore I think DH will have to do it - and he's needle phobic. He's currently out playing football - am hoping he will come back with a steady hand (having not had a beer!) - eeeek!

twinklestar2 · 24/07/2013 20:27

Choco - we went out to choose lights for the living room!! Not fun but passes the time! Dare I say it, but I'm feeling positive today. I'm going to ring my boss tomorrow and say I'm going to work from home for the rest of the week.
