...then come and get your flipping baby here. We are a group of utterly priceless loons who are deadly serious about buying our babies at the highest price (or free if you're a lucky NHS bastard). There are no failures here

karbea around £3k a cycle - a little less for natural, a little over that for natural modified because of the drugs and extra blood tests.

nobeer · 27/06/2013 22:02

I'm in a really bad fucking mood and I want to cry. I've just injected and it hurt, and then I noticed in the bag of drugs from the chemist's that the progesterone has got peanut oil in it and I'm fucking allergic to peanuts! I am so upset, after spending a bloody fortune on it and now I can't even take it. Fortunately I don't think I need to take it until next week, but all the same it's a major inconvenience, and bloody lucky that I saw the label before killing myself. Angry
Rant over.

Pipbin · 27/06/2013 22:06

Nobeer Did they not ask if you have any allergies etc at the beginning?

tametortie · 27/06/2013 22:08

nobeer thats bloody awful! Is it gestone?? They really should have checked. Hope you are ok xxxx

nobeer · 27/06/2013 22:13

Thanks Pipbin. I'm ok, just really upset. Allergies was one of the first things we mentioned on our first consultation because I've had really awful reactions to medications before, and I definitely told them about being allergic to nuts. In fact I've mentioned it at several appointments and I've put it on my consent form for the GA (3 times now).
tame it's called utrogestan which is a Spanish one.

I'm going to tell them how annoyed and disappointed I am tomorrow, I've got a ultrasound of my ovaries. Might even look over my glasses at them in cross teacher fashion.

JuicySausage · 27/06/2013 22:14

Nobeer, did your IVF forms not ask you to divulge any allergies?

JuicySausage · 27/06/2013 22:15

X-posted, Nobeer. What utter knobs.

tametortie · 27/06/2013 22:19

That's shocking. You could have been really ill. What twats.

What do you eat instead of snickers?

eurozammo · 27/06/2013 22:22

No beer that is really shit.

My clinic gets through two lots of dildocam covers and gloves every bloody time because they miss that I am sensitive to latex (it's not an allergy, but I get welts on my skin - not what you want on your fanny). Actually, it's been better for the last few appointments - someone found a way to make it flash up on screen as soon as my notes are opened. I still think it's best to check every time though as it still gets missed occasionally.

nobeer · 27/06/2013 22:24

kitkats, tame or anything biscuity. Or cake. Or crisps. Just as long as there are no nuts.

Thanks for hair stroke. Feel calmer. DP working away so will have to face Dr on my own, but will ring him to speak to them if I feel I'm not getting my point across.

nobeer · 27/06/2013 22:28

You're right euro, I'm going to be the really annoying patient from now on reminding them Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/06/2013 22:30

Nobeer I cannot believe that. You poor thing. I'm sorry your injection hurt too. Adding insult to injury isn't it. Hope you give them hell tomorrow.

And I am Shock at the cost of the ARGC!!

Hope everyone's doing ok. Sorry not to name check. I'm in quite a bit of discomfort tonight. I'm hoping this is cos my ovaries are playing ball. If not, then there is something monumental brewing in there...

Karbea · 27/06/2013 22:30

Peanuts and cashews aren't nuts they are legumes ;)

nobeer · 27/06/2013 22:33

haha Karbea I reckon they're ground nuts. God, going to have to google now.

nobeer · 27/06/2013 22:37

You're right Karbea. According to the Peanut Institute they are indeed legumes. But I can eat peas and beans without a problem.

tametortie · 27/06/2013 22:41

maybe didn't you have 40 follies the other day??!! I reckon I would be uncomfortable too!

Somebody said on FF that the price at ARGC can as much as double if you get a bfp as well with loads of extra blood tests, scans, meds. Apparently its crazy money if you are successful. BUT they do get results.

Karbea · 27/06/2013 22:43

Yes a girl I met last time had spent £35k by the time her baby was born.

tametortie · 27/06/2013 22:48

Jesus. Its a lot of money but where do you stop? If I actually got pregnant and the clinic was advising all these extra meds, scans, tests etc you wouldn't dare NOT would you?? You would absolutely do it.

I just would not have 35k to allow me to do it though. That kind of money is not an option. Hmm

Karbea · 27/06/2013 22:50

I think she had pretty bad immune issues and was flying in from Ireland.

tametortie · 27/06/2013 22:52

Its the immune drugs that do it. Bad times.

I know I said it earlier but I hope mejust is ok. Sad I miss her. I hope nothing bad has happened.

Karbea · 27/06/2013 22:59

Ivig is £1500 each time.

I'm sure when she is ready she'll come back.

JuicySausage · 27/06/2013 23:10

What did everyone have for tea tonight?

JuicySausage · 27/06/2013 23:11
