Come and join us elderly TTCers on the Sofa of Pity (SoP), Rug of Rage (RoR), the Pouffe of Possibility (PoP) or the Chaise Lounge of Limbo (CLoL) whilst trying to avoid the BubbleBath of Gloom(BoG)!

The smallprint - Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooh we are strict...please note your house may be at risk if you do not keep up repayments lol

Just heading off for a BBQ, lovely weather here in South West!

Gorgeous, gorgeous weather. Just back from a bike ride.
Tally I like scrappy top, I think that's going to stick Smile

How is Spud Boom?????!?! Grin

CharmingCats · 06/07/2013 20:43

Hello all,
Enjoyed the sunshine at gunwharfquays outlet village in Portsmouth, now sitting in garden listening to neighbours who never speak to us having a party. They sound like us! Shame they don't ever respond to our hellos, think we'd get on.
Hope you're all feeling better today. gill so pleased that your consultant was so proactive. Yay!
Cd23, ewcm and first pos ic opk! That should give me a 37 ish day cycle! I am sooo excited, I don't even care about shagging! Although, we did dtd earlier, as it's our usual weekend afternoon thing....
Had an annoying email chain from friends I've been trying to escape. It started with an invite to one of their hen dos and they all started emailing back and forth from work, in amongst it all there was a date they're all meeting up, but not invited me to and a pg announcement (dc#2). Couldn't sleep after such slaps in the face. Hd just been out with mate who is 36 weeks pg with #2, but completely understands as it took 2 years and IVF to have #1. It's so nice to talk to her, actually. But the bump is a reminder, ifyswim.
boom both spud and boomdoggy look gorgeous. The snow running is adorable. Hope it goes well.
merk really nice to have you back.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Boomgoestheweasel · 06/07/2013 22:48

Hi charming that's amazing!! 37 days Grin! Really hope you get your clomid BFP this cycle. I'm waiting to start my first cycle on the sweeties, hope my cycle responds similarly!

So far so good with Spud (now that he's actually ours I suppose I should give him an alias....hmmm...suggestions?) Boomdog is a bit put out but Spud doesn't seem to care, he appears to be a big friendly giant. He's ENORMOUS for a springer. Also he's amazing at frisbee! Just trying to decide on sleeping arrangements for tonight - I'm not totally happy about them being in the same room without supervision tonight so Boomdog is in with us and Spud is downstairs. Hope this works out!

I appear to have scrappy top marks burnt into me! Grin

CharmingCats · 06/07/2013 22:58

Sleep tight boomdoggy & spud!

Thanks for your wishes boom I'm only taking metformin at the moment, no clomid prescribed yet.

Bunnygirlie · 06/07/2013 23:22

Yay charming

boo hope the doggies behave!

Ugh just spotted a 'look at my 38week bump' photo on bitchbook Sad

Bunny I went to GP at start of Jan, had blood tests and jizz test done by beginning of March when GP referred me to gynae consultant at hospital. I had a letter through for this within a week of seeing GP. I then had the choice of three hospitals and could choose appointment date. The earliest waiting time was 4 weeks however I chose the hospital that was nearest to work and home so it was a 5 week wait. Saw one of the consultant's junior docs in middle of April and he ordered the ultrasound scan and hycosy tests. These were done in May and that was when they discovered the endometrial polyp. Because of the polyp, I was then referred to a different consultant. I could have had an appointment with her on 18 June but was on holiday so went last week and that's when I got my accelerated action plan.

On the whole I think things have happened fairly quickly but 6 months have now passed since my first trip to GP.

I don't use any of the fertility apps and just jot OV and AF dates down in a diary (I'm so old school). I do have a nice spreadsheet and graph though which I update every month because I'm such an accountant!

So I have a small dilemma today. I've just got a positive OPK (CD21). DH left an hour ago to do a 100 mile bike ride in 25 degree heat and leaves for London early doors tomorrow until Friday. Feel bad about asking him to DTD this evening but knowing DH he will probably oblige! We also DTD on Friday night so quite good timing there at least. However my operation is booked on 17th which will be 10DPO. Would you berries do a preg test on morning of op on the minuscule chance it might be positive? In my head I'd kind of disregarded this cycle because of impending op but also don't feel I should waste any chances however small.

Gosh, I do go on a bit!!

Boom how was Spud's first night in his lovely new home?

DH and I would love a dog but given we're out the house from 8am until 7pm most days it just wouldn't be fair. Maybe in our retirement...

Tallyra · 07/07/2013 08:37

Gil you have had an amazingly easy time from what I can see, no mess-ups and a choice of hospitals! Good luck with the sweeties!!!
And yes, def test on 10dpo just in case....

CatsCantFlyFast · 07/07/2013 10:02

gil test on 10dpo, for sure
boom hope you had an ok night with spud, im still jealous!
cats that email trail is one you need to extract from to save your sanity
In my world I'm at the airport waiting for my flight for work trip. Am a little excited as my OPK this morn was almost positive... After 4 days of flat negatives. I may have packed a lot of preg tests in my suitcase this morn!!

Thundercatsarego · 07/07/2013 11:17

Ooo merk Smile !

Boomgoestheweasel · 07/07/2013 11:35

Eeeek Merk.... Grin!

Gil yeps I'd def test, it'll put your mind at rest.

Charming of course you're on Metformin, I did know that. Sweeties are sweeties though!

In canine news this morning, we ended up with both dogs in the bedroom which I know is the worst thing we could do but I felt so bad that poor ol' Spud was locked out. They were fine apart from Spud panting like a steamtrain all night! had to lock them both out this morning for our Sunday morning boink though, I can't have an audience They've had a couple of little spats this morning which I hope is nothing worse than Boomdog asserting her authority. We're going to have our work cut out with Spud, I've played frisbee with them for a solid hour and a half today in boiling sunshine and Boomdog is collapsed in a heap while Spud is begging for more. He's such a lovely dog though, I think he'll fit in nicely Grin

CharmingCats · 07/07/2013 11:57

Ooh, merk, sounding good. Fx for a sticky one.
boom glad spud is happy and that boomdog is doing her best.
I have extracted myself from that email chain by just replying to original sender rather than everyone. Planning to delete any further shit.
gil I'd also test on the morning of your op and mention it when you get there regardless of the hpt result.

Been for a swim, so going to do some ironing by the open window.

BlindKitty · 07/07/2013 13:46

Well guys just arrived home from what should have been an all day drinking binge yet I was reasonably well behaved and went to bed at 9.00pm whilst everyone else carried on til about 4.00am. Only think that made me smile was them playing boom boom boom, as made me think of boom although did get somewhat annoying as our bedroom was over the room with the speakers!

boom I don't know how you can walk past them without wanting what selfish inconsiderate bitches they are!

gil defo check. I'm surprised the hospital haven't drilled it into you not to have sex. When I had my Hsg I lost count of how many times they told me.

BlindKitty · 07/07/2013 14:56

Oh and it's our wedding anniversary today! Although did only remember when dh's phone reminder went off (such a bad wife!)

Bunnygirlie · 07/07/2013 16:18

Happy Anniversary kitty how many years?

boom glad the dogs seem to be getting on ok

Crikey gill you have been lucky, I hope I don't have to wait long! DH didn't ask how long for letter or appt so i may call after a week!

OP posts:
Boomgoestheweasel · 07/07/2013 16:24

Yay Kitty I have a theme choon! And happy nearly forgotten anniversary Grin

Charming well done getting out of the chain. Hate those things!

Well, am sweltering. Too hot to contemplate taking the mutts out, so we're waiting for an hour or two before braving it - and watching Djokovic losing his cool at tennis! Boomdog is outside with the husband, Boomdog II is chillaxing on the sofa with me, cats are hiding in protest at the new interloper. Happy days!

BlindKitty · 07/07/2013 19:26

bunny 2 years Grin, although also a reminder that we've been ttc for 2 years Sad

boom yeh I kinda wanted it to stop after about the 4th time (FYI it was so loud I could hear it through my ear plugs!

Why I'm admitting this I don't know but I'm sat here watching 'the chipmunks' ...I'm sooooo ready for kids!!! Oh and I spent hours looking after other people's kids yesterday at the football tournament. Turns out kids NEVER tire of playing 'poo sticks'!!!!

barkingtreefrog · 07/07/2013 19:46

Apologies, I'm just dropping in to winge as otherwise I'll start crying. Two new adverts on my hated list. VW (babies in cars) and Halifax (big bumped wife). I just got one then the other. Having one of those fed-up-now-why-hasn't-it-happened-yet days. Had the company of both pg friends today, lots of baby talk that I avoided but couldn't help hearing. Why couldn't I have been pg with them?
Tired and grumpy Sad .

Bunnygirlie · 07/07/2013 20:39

kitty ooh it's our 2year anniv later this year too! We didn't start trying straight away though, waited 9 months (ironically)!

Oh barking hugs, that vw one is driving me nuts too, my fertile friend even posted it on Facebook as it was so funny to her?!?!?

OP posts:
BlindKitty · 07/07/2013 21:04

Haven't seen either advert but I'm bound to despise them just as much!

Finally went to see my pg friend last week. She was massively sensitive to me, which made me feel sad that she ft she had to. Guess she must have clicked when I didn't congratulate her immediately (she announced it on FB so I childishly pretended I'd not seen it)

Boomgoestheweasel · 07/07/2013 21:15

Oh barking, I know the feeling. I also hate the VW advert, how DARE they look annoyed about having a baby? Haven't seen the Halifax one but sure it's vile. They do kick you when they're down, don't they? You're entitled to feel utterly fed up, because when it comes down to it, it's just NOT FAIR.

kitty does anyone ever tire of playing poo sticks? Hope you managed to have a lovely day despite 2 yrs ttc xxx

BlindKitty · 07/07/2013 21:42

No it's not fair is it...for any of us? Sad

boom well I kinda did ... but then the kids found the bottom half of a disembowelled mole in the same water in which we'd been paddling

Bunnygirlie · 07/07/2013 21:47

Ewwwwwwwwww poor Mole!

OP posts:
Thundercatsarego · 08/07/2013 07:39

Morning all

boom sounds like the dogs are settling down together now. So is he staying?

blind happy anniversary for yesterday. Did you do anything spesh for it other than paddling with half a mole ?

barking sorry to read you were having a low moment. I really understand that and it sucks.

What's happening this week then? Anyone got any appointments or anything fun coming up? I'm just waiting waiting waiting and trying not to think about how slow the days are passing in the 2ww.
