Come and join us elderly TTCers on the Sofa of Pity (SoP), Rug of Rage (RoR), the Pouffe of Possibility (PoP) or the Chaise Lounge of Limbo (CLoL) whilst trying to avoid the BubbleBath of Gloom(BoG)!

The smallprint - Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooh we are strict...please note your house may be at risk if you do not keep up repayments lol

cherry, it's good to see you. I'm so sorry about the diagnosis. sending you hugs and Thanks

Boomgoestheweasel · 29/06/2013 20:49

Cherry so sorry to hear your news, can't imagine how difficult that must be. Sending love Flowers.

Where indeed is Merk?

Just had friends over for dinner, they brought their nearly 2-year-old and I have to say it was quite nice seeing what a pain in the bum he was (he's also sometimes very cute but tonight was being a horror)! I know it isn't all hearts and flowers when you've got kids but sometimes I forget that in my quest for a baby, tonight has lessened my jealousy just a natz although would still walk through fire for a bfp

Tomorrow DH flies to Spain until Friday, so I've got a week all alone with no dtd no bloody change there then and have to face the gynae consultant on my own on Mon Sad. My friend has offered to come with me for moral support, not sure if I should accept or if this is something better done by myself. Just don't want to break down blubbing and fail to get the answers I need.

Can't scroll back at the mo so big to all berries!

Tallyra · 29/06/2013 22:08

Definitely bring someone with you. They can repeat back to you everything you are told after you get home and can't remember specific things - I always forget a vital bit of info and think I've been told different things to what actually happened...

barkingtreefrog · 29/06/2013 22:55

Nice new name boom Grin
I agree with Tally, take someone with you who can repeat what was said, and also who knows what you want to ask and won't let you leave without asking!

I did very well tonight at the restaurant sitting next to pg-with-twins friend who kept stroking her bump. You'd be proud of me berries, I didn't stab her hand with my chopsticks so she'd stop doing it, although it was tempting Shock. Or change the subject too quickly when they were talking about buggies, or parents coming to help when the twins arrived Envy.

Anyway, got a race in the morning so need to be snuggled under the duvet by 11 (that's my mental cut off for being in bed by a reasonable hour, 11.01 is a late night and I'll feel it in the morning.....)

There's a bit of an empty echo in here tonight, but hello to anyone who's passing!! Grin

Bunnygirlie · 29/06/2013 23:00

Hellooooooooo

boom yep take a friend! I wouldn't wanna go alone!

I remember the days when one thread filled up in a week!!! So so quiet these days!

OP posts:
Boomgoestheweasel · 30/06/2013 05:39

Aaah do you like it barking? Got bored of typing the old one in with two zeroes in the middle.

Right, I'll text friend and ask if she can come, thanks for advice. Just wasn't sure if it was a bit personal in nature, but then she knows all the details anyway! As long as they don't decide to do an impromptu speculum exam like last time...Hmm When it's a reasonable hour I'll ask her, up at stupid o'clock to take Mr Boom to the airport. Sun, sea and sand for him - uni work for me [jealous] at least I get to have the girls round for drunken takeaways without the disapproving looks. And watch trashy American telly while eating icecream out of the tub. And take up all the bed. Actually, maybe this isn't so bad

Sun is out here - long may it last! Happy Sunday berries x

Tallyra · 30/06/2013 07:56

morning girls. eventful day so far - the tumble dryer decided to flood the kitchen. or at least dh opened the door to the washer dryer and let the flood out. been mopping for 20 mins! dh gone to work of course!

CharmingCats · 30/06/2013 11:10

cherry hello!, was thinking of you yesterday morning before you posted. So sorry to hear your news. Glad you're getting treatment and being presented the options. Perhaps take some time out to recover from the emotional upheaval? Good luck with everything.

Still waiting with baited breath to see if the metformin is working. Logged onto fb for the first time in months only to see the 25 yo I used to baby sit is diffed. That'll learn me.

Well done to barking for not stabbing the expectant mother. It does get difficult when they drone on and on, as though you're interested. It'd be considered rude if it were any other topic that you didn't have in common, but because it's a baby, it's ok. Grrrrr. Also pleased that you decided not to go to the baby shower, that would have been double whammy.

Get the puppy, boom! I think pets are great. You already have a dog, don't you? Do you think they would get on?

Bunnygirlie · 30/06/2013 11:27

Morning! How are we all today?

I am full of snot, wish I had shares in Kleenex! How we managed to DTD yesterday without dying I do not know lol

Oh no tally that's pants! boom can't believe Mr Boom has left you alone!

Good to see you cats excuse my ignorance, what is metformin?

OP posts:
CharmingCats · 30/06/2013 11:37

No problem, bunny (well done on the snot shag, btw, have done that too). Metformin is a drug for diabetes, which is commonly used for pcos as it stems from an insulin intolerance. The idea is that if your insulin levels are balanced, then the rest of the hormones will balance too and regulate your cycle. Typically, a fc will prescribe it with clomid, but I'm just starting with one, as it does look as though I ov. I'm going back in 2 months to check in and discuss next steps. I've read that it can work really quickly, and can reduce the number of cysts within a couple of weeks. Here's hoping. There's a part of me that just wants to wait and see for this cycle and not get diffed, out of curiosity, you know? Also there hasn't been much dtd action as it was quite sore last week and we've both been too tired this week. Perhaps later today.

Sun is shining, DH is sitting on a deck chair in the garden with a cat sunbathing at his feet. I'm still in my pjs. Bliss.

Thundercatsarego · 30/06/2013 12:03

Hello all

cherry I am so sorry to hear your news. And after all the changes you made with your diet etc. I guess you're carrying on with that now? Your heads must be such a whirlwind at the moment. Sending you lots of positive vibes at this tough time.

boom ouch with the early start! Is he absent in shag week? I think the puppy sounds great! Oooooo a lovely squishy puppy to cuddle!! I love the NC too.

And yes, instadiffers should bloody wait. It should be like the cheese counter or argos. Because it actually is OUR TURN NOW NOT THEIRS Angry

tally not a good start to the weekend. Hope you got it sorted quickly.

goosey, seriously?? Cheater? FFS what a tool. Didn't you just get engaged? His loss- end of. The boozy manicure sounds fab though.

Hi cats . What a bloody lovely day you're having today! Is there any way of knowing if the metformin is working other than getting diffed?

Bunnygirlie · 30/06/2013 14:56

Ah I see cats fingers crossed for you!

Sun shining here in SW too but very windy, I may go out and sit in it for a while, see if some rays will make me feel better! Just been bathroom shopping so that was fun, not!

thunder shags are go!!!!! You just reminded me to test my PIMP from this morning +opk here too (first one in months)! DTD weds and yesterday, will have to try again tomorrow

Lol at Mr foody drunken OHs can be such fun!

OP posts:
CharmingCats · 30/06/2013 16:18

Yay for the OPKs! Thanks for the metformin support. I think I should get a shorter cycle, if it's working. Hey, anything shorter than 73 days would be lovely.

No longer in pjs, been to town & vegging now. Ah. Inset tomorrow. Double ah!

barkingtreefrog · 30/06/2013 16:25

Sitting here with ice on my legs after a lovely day in the sunshine. Race went very well, was very chuffed with myself Grin. I was only intending to do the 4.5k fun run as I only started running again in the last 11 weeks after an enforced 3 year lay off when I couldn't run at all, and the furthest I've run so far is 6.5k. However I couldn't resist going for the full fell race (10.2k plus a lot of up hill) and I did it!!! And I wasn't even last!!! I thought based on the speed I did the 6.5k fell race in it would take me about an hour and twenty minutes at least, probably longer to account for running further, but I did it in less than 1 hour 9 minutes!!

Now have a headache after sitting in the sunshine for too long, and need to get back on the computer to tackle this bloody uni assignment.

Hi foody!

CharmingCats · 30/06/2013 16:29

Well done barking!!!

BlindKitty · 30/06/2013 16:42

Hi berries

CharmingCats · 30/06/2013 16:47

blind. I think it would be a good idea to record you appointment, but I would ask the fc if they minded as a courtesy. You're probably not the first to ask and she will probably be happy for you to do it, but might get a bit funny if you were to go ahead without mentioning it and it came out somehow later.

Boomgoestheweasel · 30/06/2013 17:07

Wow barking that's amazing! Well done!

Charming nice to see you! Hope the metformin works its magic, fingers crossed I get me some tomorrow.. Grin Was it the scans that showed you were ovulating, or something else?

bunny excellent effort on the lurgy shag!

Woooot thunderpants check you out dancing on that yellow brick road! It's technically not shag week here, because it's never shag week. cd 24 today I think!

Ah foody shifts suck...but drunky OHs are always excellent value for money Grin. I do like the slightly psychotic but oh-so-tempting jamjar smashing suggestion. I can also highly recommend the throwing of pizzas at walls - the satisfaction is in the tomato sauce slide Wink

Think I'm grinding DH down about the puppy by making repeated appeals at 5am when he's not really awake enough to make objections. Only problem at the moment is that he doesn't want a lab, he's after another springer! Two springers in one house Hmm!

Boomgoestheweasel · 30/06/2013 17:13

blind, actually that's a really good idea. Hadn't thought of that. I'm sure they couldn't object if I asked, especially as DH is away...

barkingtreefrog · 30/06/2013 17:37

Boom springer x lab? Wink

Or I highly recommend the collie x springer.....

Bunnygirlie · 30/06/2013 20:48

cats a 73+ day cycle is mental, before I came on MN I didn't even know you could have one longer than about 36days

Wow barking you did so well in the race!

Hey kitty sounds like a good party month

Question, +opk this morning but negative tonight, anybody else get this? (this is the first month I have tested morning and night!

OP posts:
BlindKitty · 30/06/2013 21:03

charming completely know what you're saying but Im a health care professional too and i hate it when people ask me so I think I'd rather just do it in secret (and not get caught!)

bunny partied a little too much I'm afraid! I have disco hips! Re opks your hormone surge could be over or maybe your urine was just more dilute later?

BlindKitty · 30/06/2013 21:04

barking well done on the race! Grin
