Come and join us elderly TTCers on the Sofa of Pity (SoP), Rug of Rage (RoR), the Pouffe of Possibility (PoP) or the Chaise Lounge of Limbo (CLoL) whilst trying to avoid the BubbleBath of Gloom(BoG)!

The smallprint - Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooh we are strict...please note your house may be at risk if you do not keep up repayments lol

bunny sonographer said 11wks 5 days. I know I got first positive OPK on 22 April which was CD14 & the day that FF gave me my crosshairs. Temp went below cover line on 22nd & back up on 23rd. That means that actual conception was 22 or 23 & I should therefore be 11+1 at most.

Oh & just FYI for PIMPing purposes I got my first positive IC at 11DPO & I'd had a negative on 10dpo. I think i kept the sticks & am available for comparison experiments if required!

PuppyMummy · 27/06/2013 07:00

bunny morphology is the shape of the sperm.

'not much sperm' would suggest low count rather than anything wrong with the ones that are there.
Don't worry too much this time though, OH had one test that came back with low morphology then the second one was normal FC is happy with this.

happylass · 27/06/2013 07:28

Morning all. Had a manic few days so just having a little catch up over breakfast. Good news on he IVF Puppy. Hopefully we'll see a few BFPs in here soon, it's been way too long!
Cracked and PIMPed this morning. BFN of course. Starting to get cramps anyway which means she'll be here in a day or two Sad. So much for us getting out of here this week eh Sid?! Had a bit of a blub earlier for the first time in a while and haven't even told DP yet - seeing his disappointment usually sets me off big time! Hate that something that started off so exciting and special for us has turned in to a nightmare! But hey ho there are others far worse off and I'm so grateful for everything that I have got . Sorry to start the day so negatively, have a good one all!

Bunnygirlie · 27/06/2013 08:18

Morning! Thanks for the reassurance puppy

Good to see you happy sorry to hear you aren't happy Sad It really is a horrid experience!

Deffo getting a cold here, now the question is to take drugs/echinacea or not? Do they affect ovulation etc?!? I may have to head to dr google!

OP posts:
Bunnygirlie · 27/06/2013 13:07

not much happening in here today!

OP posts:
barkingtreefrog · 27/06/2013 13:55

I'm not here as I'm working very hard on my stupid uni assignment. Definitely don't have time to be on MN.

Shh...

SidneyBristow · 27/06/2013 14:57

Bunny sorry you're sick; the only thing I remember about cold medicines/TTC is that antihisthamines dry up cervical fluid, so watch out for those. Sorry, not that helpful!

Happy moving over to give you room on the SoP. I really thought you and I both would get lucky this month Sad AF still not here although cramps are horrific. God forbid she shows up tonight during my dance class

Frog my fellow SMother! my FF chart sounds a lot like yours, although obv w/o the pregnancy. I PIMPed yesterday, got a neg and was cheered to see you'd negged on 10DPO but crampiness is making me PIMPing today a little too much to hope for.

very down about it all as this was our cycle 12, so now time to get drs involved, and I'm torn about it. Can't face telling my parents but really sick of the 'anything to tell me?' questions from both Ps & PILs, as though their disappointment is greater than ours.

Has anyone read the new NICE guidelines re: IVF that went into effect April 2013?

SidneyBristow · 27/06/2013 15:04

this is the NICE page I'm looking at

happylass · 27/06/2013 16:20

. Thanks for budging up on the sofa Sid. I was convinced this may be our month too. No actual sign of AF here but not really expected til late tomorrow/early Saturday. This is cycle 11 and cycle 12 is to be our last before taking a break for wedding purposes. DP going away for part of the next shag week though so not holding my breath there Sad. Forget this year, I may well not be getting a baby next year either the way things are goin!?!
How's everyone else doing? Seems these days we're waiting for news of each others appointments rather than PIMPing results. How depressing!

SidneyBristow · 27/06/2013 17:20

Sad happy next month might be out for us too as our whole month is either spent traveling, or getting ready to travel. And not to romantic getaways in the South Seas, either, unfortch. Le sigh.

Seriously though, some of the NiCE stuff might have bearing on when we're eligible for testing/what kind etc so I'm eager to know if anyone else has read it - I didn't even know bout it til I clocked through to it from MN - or if their GP's have mentioned it to them. Anyone?

Frogcatcher · 27/06/2013 19:12

Oh & sid my morning cd11 PIMP result was so pale I could have been making it up but I did it again after work & there was a definite faint line. FMU not always best it seems!

Bunnygirlie · 27/06/2013 19:48

CD10 so should be getting jiggy but don't really feel like it [need an ill face]

sid sorry to hear AF may be coming,May was our cycle 12 so I know how you feel. You kind of just feel like it isn't going to happen without some help don't you!

happy sorry you are blue too, let's all snuggle on the sofa with chocolate and wine!!! Yep funny how all talk of PIMPing has gone and it's all about FC referrals!

MrsB00Mbastic · 27/06/2013 20:34

Evening all!

Oh dear, there is definitely a dismal cloud hovering over the berries at the moment! Sorry that everyone's feeling so down. I'm still feeling hopeful about Monday's appointment and the prospect of clomid/metformin although if I don't get them I dread to think of the monumental breakdown I shall be having. So maybe I'll be back in the pimping game next cycle - this one is a write-off thanks to the hycosy, so no point even pretending there's any immediate hope!

Sid the NICE guidelines are good to know about but unfortunately they're only guidelines, they don't have to follow them. Eg they recommend that infertile couples are offered two rounds of IVF on NHS, but my area doesn't even offer one round and I'm desperately hoping we don't get to that point because we can't afford it. Still worth finding bits that are relevant to you before you go to fight with see the docs though. I'm taking a copy of the guidelines on pcos diagnosis and clomid/metformin with me on Mon and will wave them around under their noses if they dare argue with me!

Anyone seen barking? She certainly isn't hanging round here at the moment Wink

Bunnygirlie · 27/06/2013 21:03

I am picturing berry HQ with a rain cloud over it like the cloud over the sad carebear like when we little!

BlindKitty · 27/06/2013 21:03

Hi guys!!!

Well you'll be pleased to know I've been to see my pregnant friend tonight (who I've been avoiding), although she was super sensitive with me (only talked about the baby when I asked, didn't shove the scan photo in my face and didn't once ask the dreaded question about how ttc is going! Feel a bit sad she didn't speak freely with me but glad I've seen her and didn't feel like i'd died inside!

Rookie question (should really know the answer after 24 months of ttc) but when is the earliest point you could get a bfp on a hpt? Know you don't get implantation until 10 dpo bit could it happen sooner?

Bunny throws tissues and hot lemon from other side of room for fear of contracting said illness

sid wish you'd said re antihistamines before I practically od'd on them on hol! Had no idea!

boom no cloud of doom here, nor am I especially hopeful. This month off is defo helping!

MrsB00Mbastic · 27/06/2013 21:09

Glad you survived kitty! My BFP was about 8dpo according to my scan dates, although don't know if that was accurate because it was back in the day when I thought having a baby was easy and had never heard of an OPK..

Pipbin · 27/06/2013 21:24

Will everyone on the telly stop with the fecking babies already. Even the sodding Argos poxy aliens are updiffed.

Well I got the dates through from the clinic today. I have my first scan in a month and I get weighed then too. My BMI is 29.5 and if it's above 30 when i get weighed then i get sent home!

Kitty As I understand it you can't get a BFP before implantation as your body doesn't know you're pregnant before then. Not that I've ever had a BFP.........................

Bunnygirlie · 27/06/2013 21:45

Glad your visit with pg friend wasn't too bad kitty! Luckily all my close friends have had their babies now (3 since we've been TTC) so unless there are any surprises coming I should be ok apart from the royal baby and various school friends on good old bookface!

Ooh pip not long then! Guess you'll be having a salad month, I won't offer Biscuit have some Flowers instead

Apparently paracetamol can affect ovulation so I'm screwed (not in a good way)! Angry

OP posts:
BlindKitty · 27/06/2013 21:48

Yeh thought you'd say that! Got this festival thing on sat and really want to go mad! Prob is I'll only be 9dpo. Will be Sod's law that this is the one time in 24 months I get diffed!

MrsB00Mbastic · 27/06/2013 22:08

Random grumble! I always listen to our local radio station when I'm driving to/from work - it's mindless, but I like the cheesy music. Irritatingly, all the DJs seem to have decided to become first-time parents in synchrony within the last 8 weeks. So driving to work this morning - boring baby anecdotes on breakfast show! Driving home again - boring baby anecdotes about different baby on drive time! Just had late show on in kitchen - AAARGH, third DJ prattling about his bloody boring baby anecdotes!!

Time to start listening to Radio Childless...

SidneyBristow · 27/06/2013 22:14

bunny where did you see that about paracetamol? I've had a neurologist & GP both tell me it's fine to take while ttc, and even when pg. they'd better have been correct as I usually have several a week!!

Thanks for the info boom. My area has had major changes lately and i thought about calling the Trust to ask what their new policy is (if any). My hope at the moment is that my gp will authorize an HSG bc in our case thus far, our tests results don't indicate anything other than 'unexplained'. If they won't, then we're going straight to private. I'm 38 and could scrabble the money together (although it would hurt), but I can't make myself any younger. I don't want to jump the gun and am to really emotionally prepared for giving up natural conception just yet, but at my age I just feel like things need to start happening soon-ish if there's even a prayer for 2 Baby Bristows. Sometimes 1 seems like a pipe dream. How different my entire life would be if DH and I had actually spoken to each other the first time we met when we were 25...

blind the antihistamine thing only affects cervical mucus, which I suppose you could replace by using pre-seed - all is not lost!

pip I will known you on the Dieting Divan. My bmi is higher than I'd like and the prospect of being weighed is enough to make me get DH to hide my Green & Black's stash Blush

BlindKitty · 27/06/2013 22:15

Ah but boom you'll be preggers soon and you'll be chuckling along to them in no time!

MrsB00Mbastic · 27/06/2013 22:35

kitty not sure even getting diffed would induce me to find 'my baby wee'd/puked/pooed on me' stories chuckleworthy! Oh and for what it's worth, I say go and enjoy yourself at the festival...worth splashing out on a frer maybe, that might show up at 9dpo..

sid I think it's fair to ask for HSG, no idea on the actual guidelines though.

Right, bedtime for this tired berry! Night all x

Frogcatcher · 27/06/2013 23:06

kitty I used the uber sensitive ICs & didn't get a positive till 11DPO. At 10DPO it was definitely still a BFN. However, if implantation hasn't happened yet its my understanding that nothing can cross from you to fetus. I say just go for it. I had wine & a couple of DP's menthol cigarettes Blush in the week before I knew as I was so convinced it wasn't going to happen. Bean has stuck so far. Sounds like you need a good blow-out to me!

Bunnygirlie · 28/06/2013 08:48

sid I saw it on a few sites but if a doc has told you it's ok maybe it is!

Still feeling crap here Sad gosh I hate summer colds! Him upstairs must really hate me to make me I'll during shag week! Guess that's cycle 14 down the toilet (sob)

I really shouldn't listen to the local radio station, for weeks now they have been going on and on about adoption, it's like they are shouting at me GIVE UP, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN FOR YOU, YOU SHOULD ADOPT!!!
