I have absolutely no hope of keeping up with you all. I used to think I was quite sharp (get me, eh) but you've proved otherwise! Anyway, good luck to everyone whatever they are doing next (and esp to Juicy in Prague on whom I am relying very heavily in the persuade-the-reluctant-DH task).

Quick question to those doing DE cycle. I got OE BFN on 20 May (hiss). When do you reckon is the earliest I could feasibly go for DE cycle? Do they make you wait like with OE or is it irrelevant cause you're not producing the eggs yourself? I'd ask my clinic but the earliest you're-a-failure review after 20 May was 27 June!

Also, did you all have normal (or ish) cycles post IVF? I'm waiting to ovulate (idiotically hoping that it might just happen after all these months) but it seems the eggs have gone AWOL.

buzzybee123 · 07/06/2013 16:31

respsa depends on where you want to go for DE, Reprpgensis don't seem to have a waiting list, not sure about Serum in Greece, Reprofit I waited 4 months which I didn't mind, gave me time to get things in place, I think Care in the UK also do DE without a wait, they will need a month or two to find the donor if you are after something in particular and then they will have to line your cycle up with the donor, it seems quite common for cycles to a bit off after IVF

buzzybee123 · 07/06/2013 16:38

ooops sorry posted too early, or are you thinking of egg sharing??? You can PM if you have any questions :)

well i'm off for a nap before Barry gets home

juicy good luck and Enjoy the Czech Republic

fab I hope you get things sorted with your boss

tortie my fingers are crossed for rising HCG

motor and mejust good luck with with your scans and stimming :)

MotorcycleMama · 07/06/2013 17:33

Hi resipsa. Yes, it's hard to keep up on here. When you want to join in its a bit like jumping on to a moving bus!
Anyhoo, in terms of waiting and DE IVF, it really seems to depend on your clinic and the protocol they decide to use. I think that generally once a donor has been identified and agreed it's about 6 to 8 weeks. How long you wait for a suitable donor depends on the clinic's waiting list and how complicated it is to match you. It only took me about 3 weeks from going on the waiting list to being matched, and I know that at Herts and Essex they have more donors than recipients, so that's all good. However, they say that people from ethnic minorities might have to wait longer as there are fewer donors.
They may want to do various tests, if they haven't been done before, but I imagine if you've already had IVF most of those would have been done. Wait and see how juicy and I get on - we may just inspire you and your hubby!

MotorcycleMama · 07/06/2013 17:34

And just look at buzzy! Inspiration indeed!

tametortie · 07/06/2013 18:19

Buzzy- hopefully over the weekend. I have a CB digital for Monday morning too x

buzzybee123 · 07/06/2013 18:31

Good girl tortie best to be prepared but don't get too freaked out if the digi does not go up, that happened to me and I retested in a couple of days, you know this are going in the right direction Grin

tametortie · 07/06/2013 20:14

Mmmm yes, im a bit worried it won't go up and ill have a freak out!! Hmm its hard- wanna know but don't want anything extra to worry about.

How are you feeling buzz? Has today been a good day?

Was there any news on expats eggs??

tametortie · 07/06/2013 20:21

Juicy- love the answer from your clinic. Informative, open and honest.

Nokkie73 · 07/06/2013 21:53

Evening y'all

Shall we have a synchronised dance in aid of joos and her trip ?

I'm going to do a spin and then a forward slide on my knees.

EuroShaggleton · 07/06/2013 22:06

tame that's brilliant!

Expat the mantra I like is IOTO - it only takes one. And I got my BFP with one egg, one embryo.

buzz, no instadiff here. I have absolutely bonkers MENTAL PMT. I ready to kill someone. Anyone. Particularly if they commit the heinous crime of breathing too loudly or just EXISTING. So AF is on the way....

I used to get PMT like this in my late 20s/early 30s but haven't in recent years. The mc seems to have thrown me back a few years - longer cycles, more cm mental PMT. I'm like the me of old. Hmm

fab sorry about the work shyte- that's not what you need.

motor sorry to hear the side effects have finally caught up with you.

juice not long now! I'm glad you got answers from your clinic.

tametortie · 08/06/2013 09:06

Juicy- you all packed and ready?

Is there any news on expat? Hope she has a few lovely embies.

Sorry to see so many miserable druggies on here Grin hope the side effects are all worth it.

Good to see a fellow egg sharer on here mejust. I did it twice but was crap Blush so wasn't allowed again! Hope you have better look than me (I.e. Actually have good eggs to give away rather than shite ones Blush)

I am having a very chilled weekend. Trip to a monastry and a garden party. Need to not think about what is going on. Stop googling low hcg, bleeding, late implantation etc and just BE.

Nokkie73 · 08/06/2013 09:18

Have a lovely day tame . Good to get away fom Dr Google, the little fucker.

Where is joos ?

mejust · 08/06/2013 09:44

hello nokkie nook motor* wish respa euro and everyone else

decided to take it easy today and rest up,anyone got any tips on how to ease any pain injecting menopur? and does anyone know if i can use injection pen with it or not? sorry but iv read few things on bloody google saying it burns pretty bad.

juno74 · 08/06/2013 09:44

Hey folks - new to this forum, just did my first post on FF a few mins ago and then found this one after typing into Google 'the shit that is IVF' and this thread popped up!!

A forum you can rant, swear and dodge babydust - who knew...brilliant. Hope its ok to join you guys here.

mejust · 08/06/2013 09:48

hello juno is it your first ivf ?
you can tell im not with it with my last post all over the place bloody drugs

Nokkie73 · 08/06/2013 09:50

mejust I didn't' have menopur. Is it that which is causing you pain or injecting generally ? Are you really struggling with it lovely ?

juno welcome. Grab a chair and a drink. It is usual to share your storeeeee/journeeeeee with the group if you're able to. It's the ivf equivalent of bum sniffing for dogs. Fertility Fiends is ok but a bit too cheesy dancing fucking emoticons and too damn jolly. Grin. We're not !

mejust · 08/06/2013 09:58

nokkie no im on buserelin at min but will prob start menopur monday but iv read horror stories about it burning and being painfull.the buserelin stings a little sometimes but fine others its not that bad.just thought id ask so im prepared for it as iv got tons of the stuff well seems like that looking at it.

juno74 · 08/06/2013 10:06

Ha thanks mejust and Nokkie! This thread is just what I need, yep the other forums are all far too positive & huggy - it brings out the dark side in the me Hmm.

I'm a total getting preggers forum posting newbie, tend to lurk, but been on the IVF rollercoaster for a couple years now and need to rant. Started on IUI - total wasting of fucking time that was, then did IVF/ICSI twice. Just finished this last cycle of ICSI and a yet another big fat negative.

Will do one more on a private cycle as NHS has bottomed out, third ones the charm!

Live in Glasgow, unexplained infertility. Hubby has great sperm, which he loves to rub in my face - not literally mind, though he'd like to. I respond well to the drugs (but of course Wink) and always end up with great embies - uterus just not havin them....

JuicySteak · 08/06/2013 10:28

[sings: 'Pull Up To My Bumper Baby....(in your long black limousine)]

What's occurring funkmeisters? No, to Tortie: I have not packed yet - it's only Saturday! Just injected my first Cetrotide and bloody loved it; I should have been a smack-head or summat.

JunoICanDoTheSplits?: welcome! Leave your pimp at the door, pull up that leather patchwork ottoman, take off your Afghan floor-length coat and come join the harem of funk. In order to fully initiate yourself with how we operate on this 'ere thread and report back telling us the couple you & your husband (or lesbian wife) most identify with (me & th'usband are 53 seconds in).

Mejust, anyone who tells you menopur stings probably screamed and went crying to mummy when their hymen got broken by a Lil-et. Ignore them, slip some funk on the stereo and think of us xx

[waves to *Resipsa, NookNook, Nokkie, Fish, Buzzy, Euro, Raspberry, Karbea, Choco, my IVF coordinator, the embryologist, the pilot of Jet2.com, the receptionist at Hotal Auschwitz and my long-dead Nan]...and anyone else who lurks so efficiently we can't remember you Smile

JuicySteak · 08/06/2013 10:30

Motor! Darling Motor I always forget to write your name because I have your photo on my fridge and talk to you whenever I'm funking in the kitchen. "Chamone!"

JuicySteak · 08/06/2013 10:38

Lemon, Fabuluce & Twinkle, you get a special mention 'cos an anagram of all three of your names spells 'In Our Future Lies Twins'' (well, almost) Smile

juno74 · 08/06/2013 10:42

Grin Juicy, its gotta be 255 secs in with the bass playing dance - the only dance hubby knows other than the trampling the toes one, couldn't find that option.

Nokkie73 · 08/06/2013 10:44

mejust yeah, the drugs in the fridge look scary mental at times ! Maybe someone else can give you some advice. I had Gonal-F and heard horror stories about the injecting but it was actually ok. Why don't you try it first and then worry about remedies as it may not be as bad as they hype. X

EuroShaggleton · 08/06/2013 10:47

Welcome juno. I'm on the fence about the immunology stuff, but have you looked at NK cells, etc?

juicy have you had too much caffeine this morning?
