Wow Happy I am impressed! What did you have for breakfast, we need some of it in the Goose household!

Don't know if I should risk this rather controversial opinion but a really good friend of mine who smoked heavily all her life really struggled with giving up when pregnant. She did really well cutting right down to about one a week straight away and then giving up completely - even her doctor said that was best as the stress physically and emotionally of giving up when so addicted is huge. Obviously giving up if any chance of pg would be better but then there are so many reasons to give up and yet people struggle. If shed been a stranger I would have felt Angry but knowing her and how hard it was I was proud of her.

gilster my friend is in same boat as you and getting her polyp removed next month (they found it about 3 weeks ago). She's been getting really painful periods so not sure if it had something to do with it. Had my Hsg few months back, was all fine and nothing to worry about x

goosey have you seen the mn article about midwives testing women for carbon monoxide? Hate seeing pg people smoking but can't see it working

Report
Gillster · 19/05/2013 17:31

Hi barking, received letter yesterday from original consultant saying that I was being referred to an infertility consultant in the same hospital and that I would receive an appointment in due course. Incidentally, the HSG test on Tuesday is with the same person so I'm going to ask then. At least I can confirm I'm definitely not preggers -DH has been away with work for last 2 weeks and returns on Sat. So at least it has been good timing on that front. Good luck with your test on Thurs, I'll keep you posted.

you mean testing women to see if they've been smoking? I know it's a bad idea, but big brother or what? that's taking it too far!!

GooseyD · 19/05/2013 17:48

Ah-ha, now no longer on my phone and can type properly! Thunder I almost reported a comment of yours by accident, and failed to get on the train I should have done, I think I should ban myself from mn when out and about! Smile

Hi Tally - hope next week is better at work than last!

Bunny where are you on hols by the way? Is this the holiday in small apartment with lots of people?

Hi gil and welcome.

I agree- too big brothery testing pg to see if they're lying about smoking. Altho I know they say it is also to monitor if they're being exposed to carbon monoxide in any form.

goosey please don't report me!

I am so fed up. Honestly completely sick of this whole f*ing ttc game. Have lost all perspective and positivity.

Hi Gil and welcome. Make yourself at home!
Bunny I think it was Thunder who's been had by AF. Nobody got me apart from DP who can't seem to leave me alone today!!
So sorry you're feeling rubbish Thunder. Have some Wine

Report
GooseyD · 19/05/2013 18:32

Ah Thunder it's just awful when it gets on top of you like that. First day of AF I avoid thinking about pretty much ANYTHING and retreat to the bath or some innocuous film with a Brew or a Wine. I don't know much about thyroid issues, how easy is it to fix blood levels?

Report
GooseyD · 19/05/2013 18:34

Bunny you asked who is approaching AF/POAS... I am (prob Tues) but I don't expect anything as I don't think the HSG miracle works when you have a short LP

I'm surrounded!!! New couple just moved in two doors down, she has a huge bump. So that's two neighbours with bumps, one on either side, a colleague who squeals every time she feels a kick, a pg SiL and 2 pg friends close by, one pg with twins.

And that doesn't count the ones on facebook or those I know but don't have to see all the time.

My turn next, yes? Grin

Thunder come with me down the yellow brick road of positivity!!!

And I thought it couldn't get more in your face than the family next door you described earlier! Did they literally move in this weekend? How ridiculous.

Report
barkingtreefrog · 19/05/2013 18:56

I think they moved in a couple of weeks ago but I only saw them both (and the bump) today. I was coming back from the corner shop with a box of tampons in hand as they were coming out of the house. Kinda rubbed it in a little!!

Thanks for the Wine girls.

goose it's pretty easily treated- it's just a matter of working out how much synthetic hormone to take to get the levels right- and every change takes 6 weeks to monitor. So it's just more waiting around- like we all are doing here pretty much. It sucks. And it doesn't help that I should be having the baby that wasn't to be this month either.

barking they have sent you over the edge. It's a conspiracy to make you go la la I reckon. You keep skipping my friend- skip for your life....SKIP FOR YOUR LIFE!!

Re reportibg people, I think I might have done it the other day so sorry in advance!!!

thanks for the positivity goosey. I'm hoping my job doesn't change right out from under me this week, so it could go either way. they are destroying my room in a bid to make better toilets for the pupils and instead of finding me another room or even creating another one using the extra large unused staff room they want to surreptitiously turn me from a repro tech into an office admin bunny. I wrote an email explaining why it was a bad idea and that I wanted more money if they couldn't be bothered to find me my own room and then promptly went home with food poisoning. So please keep your fingers crossed for me! What I would dearly love is to get myself sorted, bfp and mat leave out of there if they fuck with the job too much. Probably too much to ask for though.Sad

Goose - I'm in Spain, with friends so no chance to DTD, not in the mood either, why should do it when DH wants to, he won't do it when we need to!!!
Oops yes I meant Thunder, damn typing on this stoopid tiny phone!
Barking-yuck you are surrounded. My colleagues wife had her baby last week and my friend will have her fourth on weds!!!

Think I have started spotting so AF will be here in a few days, that will make it 12 months of TTC! What a big pile of *%#

Thanks for all the welcome messages ladies, I'm pleased to have joined the group. There does seem to be a lot of babies/bumps about which is hard. I guess we probably notice it a bit more because it's something we want so badly. Have a couple of friends who tried for over two years and have either just had a baby or are pregnant so that gives me hope. We moved house last October and the previous owners left the children's slide and swings in the garden. I'm hoping to be able to put them to good use at some point in the non too distant future!!! Sleep well ladies. Let's have a positive week.
