It's time for some more grads!!

The smallprint - Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months NO instadiffers, must have a special pot)

Oh dear, I'm really not keen on Maths. Unless it's algebra - letters are more my thing :)

happylass · 30/05/2013 08:40

Morning Berries and welcome englishteacher (ladies I've been out recruiting again Smile). Yes I would definitely advise just DTD lots and having a bit of fun initially. You may want to track your cycles though so you know how long they are and also look out for any signs of OV like EWCM and OV pain. Lots of us use OPKs and chart our BBT too but all that can be a bit overwhelming at the start. Hard as it is I would just say to try to relax. Hopefully you'll fall pg pretty quickly (or get instadiffed as we like to call it round these parts) but be aware that it could take a while. I naively thought it would happen for me straight away as both myself and DP are fit and healthy and my cycles are regular as clockwork but 10 months on here I am!! Think I'm right in saying the average TTC time for the over 35s is a year so not even there yet. Sorry realised I've used loads of acronyms. If your not sure of anything ask - I forgot how confusing it all is at the start!!

Thanks for the sauna advice Blind. I have a facial and massage booked so will try to limit my use of the other facilities as much as I can without arousing suspicion! Just PIMPed on the off chance (just to check for the purpose of the spa of course!) but as I'm only 7dpo it was obviously BFN and a big fat waste of a hpg!
Have a good day all.

happylass · 30/05/2013 08:42

Another cross post. Morning Aquarius and sorry she got you. Glad to see its pain free so far, long may it stay that way!

MrsB00Mbastic · 30/05/2013 08:45

Ah shucks Aquarius, I was just getting used to all the lovely company on the CLoL! Sorry she turned up but at least not as vicious as usual. Hardly gloating, still sounds worse than the mild tummy grumblings I get or would do if AF ever bloody turned up chunter chunter

Hi english - another teacher! Any chance that you live in Yorkshire and have a dog? Grin What do you mean by not seriously ttc, have you already been trying? And is there a reason why you're paranoid? We do have a rule that you have to have been trying for over 3 months to join the Berries - only because people who instadiff the minute they join tend to cause a lot of ranting and pulling out of Berry hair Smile

MrsB00Mbastic · 30/05/2013 08:49

Sorry English didn't mean to sound unwelcoming! Must have got the wrong end of the stick with your first post if Happy's rounded you up!

Don't worry about the maths. A lot of the berries are cycle-charting whizzes. I don't use OPKs or temp, because my cycles are too long and pointless to make it worthwhile until I get some sort of a helping hand.

englishteacher78 · 30/05/2013 08:54

Might be a bit TMI but I've had menstrual issues for years. It affected My a level results. Was on the pill after that for years. Anyway, I lost 6 stone recently and when I got to my lowest weight everything went crazy. 1 week on; 1 week off. Ended up on iron tablets and everything. As a result, I'm a little worried that things aren't working properly. Confused

MrsB00Mbastic · 30/05/2013 09:00

There's no such thing as TMI on here english! Sorry you've been having issues. Has the doctor given you any idea of what might be going on and whether it will affect fertility?

Oh and massive congrats on losing 6 stone! Amazing!

englishteacher78 · 30/05/2013 09:02

No diagnosis. Seems I'm just weird. So no idea whether fertility will be affected.

MrsB00Mbastic · 30/05/2013 09:14

Huh, your doctor doesn't sound particularly helpful. No investigations of any sort? I would have thought that checking you for endometriosis and fibroids would be a minimum Hmm. Have you told the doc about plans to have a baby?

englishteacher78 · 30/05/2013 09:17

Did have investigations. I'm just weird

Gillster · 30/05/2013 09:27

Welcome englishteacher, hope things settle down for you soon. Try not to worry too much.

I hope there's space on the CLoL [flings herself on it regardless of the screams from the squashed berries]. Well it's CD22 and no smiley face on the OPKs yet (usually happens around CD19/20). Not sure if the HSG has affected things as no other indicators of OV yet either. Also rang hospital yesterday to chase for polyp removal appointment. Think they are sending out some dates to meet other consultant at a different hospital but can see the process dragging on. I got the impression if I hadn't called it would have taken ages even to get appointment options. Feeling very much in limbo at the moment. Sad

On top of that , DH's step mum was very forward about asking for grandchildren on Sunday night when she was a bit drunk. I just replied that it wasn't that easy!

Frogcatcher · 30/05/2013 09:51

Morning berries. Just popping out of lurkdom to advise happy that I went in a jacuzzi, sauna & steam in the 2ww before I knew I was diffed & as far as I know (got an 8 wk scan booked next week - fx & eeek!) there were no ill effects. I've obviously avoided them since.

I spent almost £100 this week (& the same last month) on DP's cat with behavioural cystitis (basically doing little pees round the house) so can sympathise with the vets bills tally.

MrsB00Mbastic · 30/05/2013 10:12

Hi frog! Glad your tadpole's still firmly in position, obviously likes the spa! We miss you around here, glad you're still lurking. Hope scan next week goes well!

The waiting around is rubbish isn't it! I'm sort of waiting for a phone call from the doc today to talk about what the plan is re: hycosy and not being able to have it in time for next clinic appt because of stupid cycles. Ten to one she doesn't phone... Do you think maybe you've already ov'd and just missed it?

Gillster · 30/05/2013 11:17

I suppose could have missed OV as there were potential signs in the few days after HSG but just put it down to after effects of that. We couldn't have DTD anyway due to DH being away. Most cycles are about 33 days but did have one in Feb that was 42 days long which incidentally was when DH was away for 2 weeks. Maybe my ovaries were pining for him and shut down whilst he was away! Grin I'm going to test until CD30 in case of a late OV. I don't know if I actually OV'd in Feb as didn't bother using OPKs then due to DH's absence.

barkingtreefrog · 30/05/2013 11:33

I'm in a proper fed up mood, and not good company, so I've brought my own seating and will stay in the corner where my mood can't spread. Angry Angry

I'm on holiday but I've spent the morning doing boring things like emptying bins and doing washing. Given the horrible weather I have dog towels to wash but I don't like drying them inside the house and the weather is still foul. The dog towels and dog bed I washed on Monday I just had to bring back inside and put back in the washing machine to spin as I was just watching them get wetter and wetter on the line. Now I'm out of washing powder but can't be arsed going to the shop. And that feeling of sh1t I've got lesson planning to do and reports to write and action plans and uni work to do for the stupid senco course and it's depressing and I just want to win the lottery and quit teaching and have babies......

OP posts:
Aquarius1 · 30/05/2013 11:48

We've all been there Gill. You get your grump on gf.

I'm on the sick bed of af-ness- too zoned out on painkillers to be grumpy but I am pretty miffed that a) my cheap Internet hpt's just arrived in the post today (as if to rub it in) and b) that I turned on the tv to a scene of TOWIE where they were gossiping about someone having found out they were pg Hmm

Just had a call from Gp saying I need to go for another day 21 test this mth- didn't say what results were from last one- what does that mean??

happylass · 30/05/2013 14:23

Thanks Frog. Spent a little time in the steam room and pool but managed to avoid the sauna. Very relaxing though.
Lol at Barking ' I've brought my own seating' Smile. Hope you're feeling better soon hun.
Aquarius could you ring back and ask why the test needs to be redone? Are you sure that cd21 is the right day for you to be having it?

Boodle9 · 30/05/2013 14:33

Aquarius, remind me, have you had CD21 tests before or is this your first time? Calling you in for more means one of two things, in my experience;

1: They've lost/cocked up your test in some way.
2: Something has come back a bit out of the 'norm' range and they want to repeat.

Now you can be retrospective, were your last tests done on the correct cycle day? (I.e. 7 days before AF turned up?)

I'd just call back and ask if I were you - my surgery has a dedicated line for blood test results - does yours?

Barking, I'm with you on the shitty day thing. I've got loads of 'outdoor' jobs that need doing and instead of being able to do them, I've moped around inside looking at the rain. I think it's the bad weather that is making me so glum at the moment. I know there were two beautiful days at the weekend, but AF synchronised with them perfectly so I just spent the whole time hot flushing and stressing about where the nearest public loos were.

Boodle9 · 30/05/2013 14:34

Good x-post with Happy there! Great minds and all that!

Aquarius1 · 30/05/2013 15:21

Thanks ladies- my cycle is anywhere between 23-35 days so heaven knows if day 21 is right. I'll see if I can get another appointment. It'll be my second day 21 test- the other one was done on the same day as my ultrasound which indicated I hadn't ovulated yet...

Happy glad you had a nice time at the spa - sounds lovely

Aquarius1 · 30/05/2013 15:23

Oops I just realized I meant barking not gill in my previous post. Too much ibuprofen / paracetomol / codeine

GooseyD · 30/05/2013 16:19

I'm still with the Berries who are a bit emotional and all over the place unfort. I got my IVF referral form through but instead of feeling pleased things are on track I'm just scared the timings going to go all wrong if me and DP don't get our act together properly with dtd and emotional security so I can crack on with the Clomid.

We're talking about booking a holiday during supposedly Clomid time but I've always been a bit worried that flying affects my OV. It could just be though that I chart and use monitor more erratically with time change. Anyone else had probs with travelling?

Kitty and Boodle, you feeling any cheerier?

Sorry you've hit the 50 mark Boom, hope AF gets her act together and turns up soon.

Glad to hear you've got a bit of relief from vomiting etc Aquarius . Re the progesterone testing - they gave me three in one cycle because mine are irregular - you could ask for that?

Gill hope that your apt comes through soon

GooseyD · 30/05/2013 16:48

What happened to the yellow brick road and the cycle of positivity? Hope the weather and holiday activities improve Barking and you can haul yourself up from the beanbag of grumpiness, that one sounds quite hard to get out of! Smile Are you home holidaying?

Foodylicious · 30/05/2013 17:28

Hi guys,
sad to say I will be joining you on here again after miscarrying on Monday Night at 8+2.
Needless to say we are devastated. Lovely frog mentioned I should maybe check back in here as some of you have sadly been through this too.
Still all pretty surreal at the moment, so just popping on here now and again and taking it day by day.

Pipbin · 30/05/2013 17:42

Hi guys, just popped back to see who was about and what the news was, just to see Food's dreadful news!

So sorry to hear that Food, I've never been pregnant so I have no idea what you must be going through but I know many women here have so will be able to offer support.

News here is that on my next CD1 I will have to call the IVF clinic and start all the drugs and stuff.
