Just swinging in to say hello Berries, especially Aquarius - nice to see your face, lady! Grin

I've been dodging Mumsnet recently as I'm in a bit of a low patch and I'm finding it helpful to just stay the hell away from the Internet. Couldn't resist having a peek in tonight though, since it's Bank Holiday and all.

Barking - I hope you get your post-HSG BFP. It didn't work for me, unfortunately, but then I wasn't expecting it to. I did have an absolutely horrific AF to follow (and mine are pretty tough anyway) just to rub salt in it for me. Angry

barkingtreefrog · 27/05/2013 22:55

Hi Boodle sorry you're in a low patch Sad. I'm not that hopeful if I'm being honest, DP's operation will probably might throw a spanner into shag week and although the vit b6 seemed to lengthen my LP to 10 days last cycle there's no guarantee it will work again this cycle or that 10 days will be long enough anyway. But I was so desperately pessimistic last cycle that I decided I would be positive this cycle! Against all the odds! We'll definitely be out next cycle as it seems that although recovery rates are up to 4 weeks from a circumcision, it's very painful to get an erection for up to 4-6 weeks afterwards.... So definitely no July BFP, which is all the more reason to put all hopes onto a June one!!

kitty even if you were following all her posts, she's also assuming that you are on fb regularly enough to not miss a single post. I would never assume a friend on fb had read everything I had posted. Definitely don't beat yourself up about that one!

Bunny does he always get that stressed about work? Sounds unhealthy, and not easy for you either Sad.

Boom my mum did the Manchester 10k yesterday!

Hi boodle, nice to see you! Sorry to hear you're having a rough time, hope your interweb avoidance strategy is helping although we do miss you. Pop in whenever if you need a vent, I'll save you a space on the sofa and a nice Brew xx

Aquarius1 · 27/05/2013 23:14

boodle! I've missed the boodle show. Still getting jealous of the moon??Wink

Boodle9 · 28/05/2013 01:04

Aquarius - absolutely! The moon is a bitch, the BFP car can just bugger off already and the sheep with their little baby lambs, just humph!

probably best not to even mention the numerous real life pregnant people who seem to be surrounding me right now

sconeoclock · 28/05/2013 06:54

Morning berries,
I hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend.
Ours was manic, tea rooms were packed!

Went out for a few drinks last night and AF got me this morning so I'm suffering double today!

I was a day early too which is very unlike me.
Oh well, time to book a doctors appointment then...

BlindKitty · 28/05/2013 07:07

Yey I love a list......

barkingtreefrog · 28/05/2013 07:51

Oi! kitty! You've taken me off the list!! Is that because you know I'm going to get a BFP this month so there's no point me being on there? Wink Grin

Morning!

Sorry AF got you Scone Sad, just what you need with a hangover! Hope your doc is sympathetic.

boodle don't forget doggy ultrasound scans on FB and people who aren't actually pregnant but look like they might be! So many things to be jealous of, where to start??

PuppyMummy · 28/05/2013 08:18

morning all.
just posting this to jinx af into arriving.

not due til tomorrow but have been crampy on and off since Sunday. (unusual for me as cramps normally mean af will come within 24hrs)
Woke up this morning with quite strong cramps, expected to see af but no sign.

Anyway she is clearly trying to trick me so I thought a post here expressing my wishful thinking that the cramps might be something burrowing in would be bound to encourage her arrival!

Bunnygirlie · 28/05/2013 08:45

Hey boodle and puppy good to see you!

Grrrrr to AF arriving scone

barking he's a manager and director so he can never leave work at work if you know what I mean, I think I am unintentionally adding pressure which doesn't help either!

My cats are doing well, and the hamster, and our new chickens Grin

Gillster · 28/05/2013 09:09

Great I love a list and was beginning to wonder how many berries were squeezed onto the sofa, rug and chaise lounge!

Gillster 39, cycle 15, had HSG last week, tubes clear but awaiting appoinment to have an endometrial polyp removed (hurry up!!!) Still DTD though and anticipate a busy week ahead in this respect. Smile

Are Mrs B00m and Barking Manchester based (given your/your family's 10km Great Manchester Run exploits?

GooseyD · 28/05/2013 09:22

Morning all, I've just had a good read of the bank holiday goings on.

haha re the best laid plans Smile

A marathon Boom - so impressed!

Bunny and Barking sorry about the bad operation/work trip timing - but might be good to dtd without the pressure when they're around/in fit shape for it! Barking did you find out yet whether you are OK to ttc this month?

Bunny yes I do start to dread shag week most cycles too as often feels like I'm bullying Mr Goose into it, which is v bad for my confidence.

Barking - you mentioned your DP's wife in a post at beginning of weekend. Is he still married or was that a typo and meant to be his brother?

Boodle and Tally sorry to hear you're feeling low (and good on Mr Tally for making things better). I'm also feeling really down and am slightly limiting internet use too to try and lift mood. But also want to see how you're all doing, and get my injection of good vibes from you guys too!

Kitty, Tally and other long term ttcers, I've been round the houses with the moods - I'm over the disbelief and anger at my instadiffing friends for not understanding, which is a big relief. But a new and worrying stage is creeping up on me - I'm not even excited about the idea of having a baby anymore, just worried I'm too old and won't cope. My sister got REALLY bad post natal depression and we do after all share a lot of genes. Sometimes these days I'm more in touch with being gutted about 'being infertile' than I am with being sad that I haven't got a family - and that's just weird.

Kitty have you asked whether NHS would consider putting you forward for ivf straight away without the ivf stage? I guess it's because of your age that they are trying iui first. On other hand - it would be nice to conceive with iui if possible wouldn't it? I'm absolutely dreading ivf.

MrsB00Mbastic · 28/05/2013 09:51

Haha thanks for being impressed guys but I only ran 10k - a marathon is out of my league!!

Gillster no, I'm a Yorkshire lass, came over to the dark side for the day! One of my friends who ran with me is from Didsbury so we all piled over Smile

Puppy hellooo! AF is such a cow, playing games isn't nice. Have you pimped?

Fresh from a fight with not soDH. Told him I was going for acupuncture and he launched into a tirade about how 'it hasn't worked so far and how long are you going to give it before you realise she's stringing you along, she keeps saying she'll stimulate a period and she doesn't'. Am I wrong to think this is unfair? I've only been going for two months or so, and I've reduced it to once a fortnight at his request because of the money. It makes me feel so much better when I go because I feel like I'm doing something rather than just sitting around moping, and I usually come out in a much better mood. Now I feel like he's just basically said she's a charlatan and I'm wasting my time. Surely the fact that it makes me feel better should be enough? Sad He was really encouraging about it at the start but I think he just always wants instant results.

happylass · 28/05/2013 09:57

Morning Berries. Good to see you back Boodle Smile
Sorry AF got you scone. Bit early for the Wine. Brew do??
Definitely been more relaxed/accepting about the whole lack of BFP for the last few cycles. I think for the first 6-7months I constantly got my hopes up and was devastated when AF turned up each month. Now I think I'd be a lot more Shock if I did get a BFP. Still see it happening one way or another but don't think it'll be before we get married next year.
Having said that just come back from GP. Bloods all normal and been referred on. Waiting list is a couple of months but at least things are moving in the right direction and we are in the system - yey!

happylass · 28/05/2013 10:01

Hi Boom cross post. Did my degree in Manchester and LOVE Didsbury Smile
You're completely right about the acupuncture. So what if you haven't seen any results yet? If it makes you feel better then go for it. All the vitamins, Conception Plus, Robitussin, BBT-ing and DTD-ing I've been doing since last August haven't had the required effect yet but that doesn't mean I'm going to give them up Grin

PuppyMummy · 28/05/2013 10:30

boom I did not pimp. I stay away from pots and sticks as a general rule!

my plan worked (or not) and af has arrived so cd1 again here. ill be honest I'm getting sooooooo bored of this month in month out.
we have our follow up fertility appointment in a couple of weeks and she is going to look at all the blood test and hsg results so that's the next step.
I might just forget the whole thing and get another dog...

MrsB00Mbastic · 28/05/2013 12:34

Ah puppy well done for staying away, wish I had your iron willpower. Sorry she rocked up in the end. I like the dog plan - I've been promised a puppy when I finish this degree and it's clearly going to be another pseudobaby!

Happy good to hear things are going your way! How are the wedding plans going?

Went to acupuncture only to find we'd crossed our wires and she thought I was in tomorrow morning instead. BAH. And DOUBLE BAH. Am stomping around the kitchen in a bad mood with DH, acupuncturist and the world. Although have just made tastiest mackerel pate ever so I'm quite smug about that, might eat it all before horrible DH comes home and I have to share! Aubergine in the oven for baba ghanoush and just about to make guacamole - feeling all domesticated Grin

Phoned the gynae clinic to ask if I need to do something about lack of AF and growing unlikelihood of fitting in hycosy before next appt. Doc not even there until Thurs, but apparently there's already a note on the system for her to phone me. Weird. Now I'm going to fret about what she wants until Thursday! Hoping it's not DH's sperm all swimming the wrong way/in circles/not at all..

CharmingCats · 28/05/2013 12:41

It's raining a torrent here...so many things I needed to do, but don't want to get wet! Maybe after lunch...

Boom I understand about the DP vs acupuncture. DH once accused me of enjoying 'throwing money' at things. it wasn't related to ttc - it was at the Back Show when I was looking at special shoes to help back pain. I think he feels I'm some kind of hypochondriac on the hunt for a 'cure'. I have been to nutritionists and osteopaths over the years, but to treat symptoms that were affecting my life. Personally, I haven't found acupuncture helpful in regulating cycles, but I would have continued had I found it beneficial in other ways. I'm having reflexology now, which I much prefer. DH no longer comments, as he knows how hard I'm finding ttc and that these things can help. The money thing is tricky, but if you have already compromised by going less frequently, then I think you're doing all you can. None of these alternative treatments offer quick results, so it is worth persevering, at least until you get to see a consultant who may offer some different treatment/advice.

I think a lot of my cycle issues are down to stress and anxiety (and PCOS). I always wake up with my jaw set and toes tense. Have to concentrate on releasing those muscles.

barkingtreefrog · 28/05/2013 12:47

Gillster - I'm in Yorkshire, but my parents live near Manchester.

Goose - didn't even notice that! Yes, was supposed to be DP's brother. Was obviously thinking 'brother's wife' in my head when thinking SiL to distinguish from my SiL, but then just put wife without realising! DP has never been married as far as I know!!!

puppy - sorry she got you. 'Why don't we just get another dog?' has definitely been a comment heard more than once in this house since ttc became a struggle rather than a thing of excitement!!

It's holiday time, it's raining and we didn't go away as planned because I wasn't feeling up to camping (albeit in a camper van) after my little HSG incident last week. Which means I'm sat inside pretending I'm getting work done to get ahead for next week but actually I'm failing to find van insurance for the camper, putting a couple of things on ebay that probably won't sell anyway, and failing to stay off MN or FB. Grr.

OP posts:
MrsB00Mbastic · 28/05/2013 14:32

I've just made him phone up for his jizz test results - all clear. So I don't have to worry about that I guess. For some reason it's really upset me though, probably because now I know it's me not him. I knew that anyway, but I suddenly feel like rather than 'us' struggling to have a baby it's me stopping him from having kids. Silly Boom. Someone wang me with a sausage, quick!
