We laugh in the face of OPKS and stomp on our thermometers! Don your customised shag capes, ladies; it's Just Shagging Thread 15

Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share and with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo;

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce in other posters).

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Happy shagging shaggers!

oooh Essie I've just been doing a general Dr Goofle and I read a post somewhere with someone saying they got lots of spots b4 their bfp. that + pooey wine + cramps could be good signs. im sorry if I'm fuelling obsessing here but I am a TTC addict now lol when r u going to TEEESSSSTT!?

DulcetMoans · 20/06/2013 23:09

Someone's gotta test, we are just symptom spotting for each other! We deserve at least one BFP soon!

Nessalina · 20/06/2013 23:26

Woah, I'm offline 24hrs and there's epic activity!! Essie, Cookie, Stroke, and especially Rock - it sounds like there's some excellent BFP potential going on there! Grin
Fingers and toes crossed for everyone!

Nessalina · 20/06/2013 23:27

I poured away two bottles of red wine tonite because they tasted sour, but then proceeded to drink 2 beers, so I guess that cancels out the symptom spot, right? Shock

Bearfacedchic · 20/06/2013 23:28

I'm just waiting for Ertd to exit the building more so I can go back to feeling normal and not bloated and sore rather than for Ttc. As our referral appointment nears I'm starting to feel like I'm giving up a bit. It really should have happened by now if it was going to happen naturally. It's been 22 months FFS.

Anyway, blah blah.

Hope you guys all have more luck than we're having int the Bear household.

Bearfacedchic · 20/06/2013 23:31

Pooey wine huh? Sounds promising. Grin never written that as a statement before!

Strokethefurrywall · 21/06/2013 01:53

Nessa you poured two bottles of wine away??? I don't think we can be friends any more... Grin

Well I totally go with the theory that my body knew, however I've just necked half a bottle of wine and I definitely enjoyed it. And now I'm just sad that I don't have any more.

Also, I drank beer pretty much all the way through pregnancy and it didn't trouble me so maybe it was just wine! You've still in there!

Oh Bear I'm so sorry it's taking so long for you - it must be really hard but I have to say, I really admire your spirit on this thread. I'm not in the UK so I don't really know about referral appointments etc, but how long do things take once referred in terms of additional steps? I will keep everything crossed for you.

AndieDisestablishment · 21/06/2013 06:59

Bear Of the three people I know IRL that have been referred for fertility treatment, two arrived for tests to discover they were already upduffed. So fx for you.

Big hooyas for the symptom spotters but fx for you also. Grin

Got some JSing in last night to open my fertile window with a bang (so to speak) and (TMI alert) I didn't notice any 'leftovers' or a damp patch when I got up this morning so I'm hopeful that I retained a good amount of swimmers which I am willing towards my Fallopian tubes as I type.

What a miserable day for summer solstice! Ick.

ChocChaffinch · 21/06/2013 11:42

go swimmers!

EssieSaysRelax · 21/06/2013 11:47

Got boob pain this morning. Trying not to get my hopes up as it could just be ERTD preparing my body for the assault.

Will test tomorrow morning though I promise as thats official ERTD day according to my app and we're going to a wedding and I obviously need to know how hard I can party!

Bear yeah, pooey was the best way to describe it, it smelled like a manure heap! How much longer til your referral date? Same as Andie though, girl I work with was 2 days away from starting IVF and kept going to the loo every 5 seconds. I made her do a test, she was convinced she wasn't upduff as had been ttc for 2 years and had numerous problems, but she got a bfp and we both cried in the loos at work! Her DS is now 1 and we still laugh about it!

Fx for all symptom spotters! x

cookielove · 21/06/2013 12:05

22 months Sad for you. One day it will be your turn I can feel it in my bones.

So I did two tests this morning internet cheapie came up negative and a digital. It came up as a see leaflet Confused so I pulled the test out and had a look at the window and it had 2 lines albeit a very faint 2nd line. I threw away the leaflet a while ago so I am off to the shops to buy another test. The digi one was blue if that makes any difference??

cookielove · 21/06/2013 16:23

Ok so I popped to the shops and got another digi one. It came up as not pregnant. But when I pulled it out and checked the window. There was another faint 2nd line. So I'm still holding out hope that I might be pregnant. Smile

EssieSaysRelax · 21/06/2013 16:40

cookie! How frustrating! What are your dates? How many dpo ish are you - sorry if it's further up but I can't look. Fx, tx, everything xd for you!

cookielove · 21/06/2013 16:59

I have no idea on my dpo as this is the first month I've used contraband and I seemed to have missed it using them anyway. However I was due on, on Monday.

lil1ady · 21/06/2013 18:03

oooh cookie! fx....so that's 2 faint liners! come on bfps!

bear 22months! I am in awe if how upbeat you are despite such a long wait. it has to happen for you soon. within the next 300 and some odd posts in fact if the Fred luck is anything to go by!

Rockchick1984 · 21/06/2013 18:13

Cookie don't bother with digital ones - they are less sensitive than most other types! Get something with pink dye, first response or superdrug own brand are the best apparently although I went to Home Bargains and they have 2 for £1 which seem sensitive - I'm not due on until Tuesday and there definitely seemed to be a line this morning (still not classing it as a BFP until its a proper line, but fairly sure now that it is).

cookielove · 21/06/2013 18:21

Ok I put a photo up on my profile. Not that clear but I can still see a line Confused

cookielove · 21/06/2013 18:26

I'm gonna prob test again tomorrow! !! I've got sainsburys and Wilkinson ones.

Strokethefurrywall · 21/06/2013 18:33

Cookie I can see a line too, it's definitely there! Post another picture tomorrow but I'm going to offer a very cautious congratulations! Grin

I'm due on on Monday too but after pinching cramps and some (unusual for me) spotting 2 days ago, I'm not going to pay attention to any symptoms until then as I'm pretty convinced I'm not pregnant. Easier to assume I'm not until the pee stick says yes and I'm not ready to pee!

Rock congratulations to you too, that's great news! Post a picture! Come on hcg, do your thing and turn those faint lines bold!

frogchops · 21/06/2013 21:28

I can smell a bfp (or two!) a mile off!!

Rockchick1984 · 21/06/2013 21:31

Does the 2 lines inside a digi count as a BFP? Don't want to be a downer but I didn't think digis worked as normal tests? Maybe ask dr goofle and his bow tie (I think you are upduffed Cookie but I didn't think you could just pull them apart and get a result).

Waves to Frog - how far along are you now? Hope all is going well :)

frogchops · 21/06/2013 22:26

Hi rock... Am 27 weeks now, and its all zooming by so quickly! Getting very real, quite scary! Grads thread could do with a few more upduffs though...hope u all join us soon!

GnomieGrace · 21/06/2013 22:53

Another week still no ERTD and no BFP now on CD38 and am getting Confused! Good luck to all those who are teetering on the edge of a BFP!

Redshoes56 · 21/06/2013 22:55

I WANT BFPs!

That is all.

Just a quickie check-in. Crazy week at work. Have managed to get busy with DH three times this week, and I can proudly say I am NOT using any contraband this month. Going with the flow.

cookielove · 21/06/2013 23:20

rock not a downer at all. Just helping me keep a check on reality which I definitely need. The digi test I use you put together your self thats why I can access the pee window Hmm but as you say I'm not taking it as a postitive yet. Will test again tomorrow I can get to a superdrug tomorrow to Smile

Off to Dr Goofle now Wink
