beedle hoping your eggs have all fertilised overnight. Are you off work today? Feeling OK?

solars just 8 days max

BeedlesPineNeedles · 04/06/2013 07:30

Me too keep though in a way the clinic not telling us anything does sort of reduce the stress. If they told us that only, say 4, had fertilised I would spend the whole time worrying that it was all going to go wrong. As it is I can try not to think about it much
My insides are a bit sore, and I seem to already be full of gas Blush and I look rather bloated but I feel well enough to do some work from home today.

Oh and you asked why I thought mrb's sperm were a bit crap, it was because they made him go back to the masturbating room to do another JIAJ. He did say there wasn't much for his first attempt, but he thought he was going to die when they asked for some more 30 mins later. But he managed to do it again which I'm very impressed about. They then made us wait around for ages, even though I was well enough to go home, until we heard from the lab that they were satisfied. I think they just wanted the best possible sperm, not that they couldn't find 12 in the first lot. Mrb says he may never recover :o

geek hope you don't have to wait too long for EC, and I do hope they can get to the ovary with the millions of eggs. Though I don't like to think how sore your insides will be feeling after they have done EC and battered you about to get to both ovaries. I hope they give you more than paracetamol afterwards. But with that many eggs you'll hopefully get enough embryos that you'll never have to do it again.

The clinic has told me I must not test until 16 days after egg transfer ha ha ha

ControlGeek · 04/06/2013 07:42

beedle OMG poor, poor MrB Blush He is such a trooper managing to give them seconds though. Oh bless him. I can't begin to imagine MrG managing to do that even though he mostly missed the jar the first time he had to JIAJ and had to scrape it up off the floor AND, AND, does your clinic know nothing about brookers? 16 days for pity's sake???? After transfer???????? I think you're right on the stressing less side of things. You already know what day they are going back in, so there isn't the need for constant updates like when they aren't sure. Really hope you feel better soon and that the bloating goes down. Drink lots and lots of water (even though this will make you feel more bloated in the short term).

solars when is your test day (official or otherwise)? Oh, and did you find out whether it was IVF or ICSI in the end?

Solars · 04/06/2013 08:48

Beedle poor MrB and really 16 days after transfer Ours is 15 days after egg collection. Do they give you a test or do you have to go in for a blood test? Also are you on the bum bullets now too?? Hope you start to feel less sore and bloated, plenty of rest for you dear.

Geek we had icsi in the end even though they said the sample was good. Test date is the 12th! I think I'm too scared to test before then.

Bonjourno brookers! I have missed you all! Though I have been lurking to see how youare all doing!

It's so busy in here! Solars, Geek and Beedle you a all steaming ahead! I cannot wait for all these BFPs that are going to be rolling in soon!

Sorry for the lack of name checking brookers, but I am brooking for you all. Hope your levels have dropped nicely today Geek.

So, I don't think down regging agrees all that much with me. The first 5 days were pretty nasty, hives, constant weeing and this mad feeling like I was on edge. Couldn't sit still. Luckily that's died away to leave me intense tiredness and fatness. Still another 2 weeks of this to go. My poor stomach is already blue from the injections. But Italy was amazing, the wedding was beautiful, and I am one very proud big sister Grin

keepitgoing · 04/06/2013 08:57

Omg beedle I am so impressed at mrB, what is he really 18? Poor thing, talk about pressure. I'm brooking he never has to do that again.

maybe! Good to see you and glad you had a lovely time. I'm sorry the downregging is bad, I think stimming is much easier, so hang in there.

My OTD was 14dpEC, but you may remember I had faint lines. solars I guess you have a blood test lined up? I was also too scared to test before good thing too but wanted to know before the afternoon blood test. As we all know sweetie tested v early, but then she is having quads twins.

cartoontrickster · 04/06/2013 09:30

solars is that ad in the best day to test or the earliest date you could test?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 04/06/2013 09:31

I've just checked the paperwork again and it says 15 dpt but I'm sure the nurse yesterday said 16. Whatever I am not testing and then going straight to work, so I'll probably test next Sunday which will be 13 dpc, then if its negative I can kid myself its too early

maybe glad you had a lovely time, sorry you've been feeling so rough on the downregging drugs.

solars no bum bullets here, just some progesterone gel that I have to insert inside me with a strange thing that looks bit like a tampon applicator. But I don't get any waxy leakage like I have read other people complaining about. And they want me to move around after inserting it as it will help my body absorb it Hmm

keep no he's not 18 but I think he wished he was yesterday. They had warned us that we would have to wait around and he might have to give 2 samples but we didn't think it would or could happen.

I don't think they do blood tests on me, maybe if its positive they might, I'll have to ask tomorrow.

keepitgoing · 04/06/2013 10:25

Ooh crazy Swedish progesterone. I think next Sunday will be fine with a decent test.
It sounds like a second sample is not that uncommon there then. I've never heard of it in the UK though.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/06/2013 11:30

Beedles I think my clinics policy is the same as yours, 15 days post transfer. I also have the progesterone gel. No bum bullets for me either!!

Keep I hope you're right about the stimming being kinder! How is mini keep cooking? When are you coming back to the UK?

keepitgoing · 04/06/2013 11:56

Good I think maybe! At the stage where you don't look pg, and feel better, so its quite weird... Only 7 weeks till we come home! Can't wait!

Solars · 04/06/2013 16:54

Maybe lovely to have you back but sorry to hear the drugs are not agreeing with you. The stimming will definitely be kinder to you. These progesterone gels sounds interesting, errr do they go in the front or back passage? So far the bum bullets have been behaving they've told me to use them the back way so less leakage. I've been lucky that I've not needed the prog injections as they are intra muscular and the needle was at least a couple of inches, I almost fainted when the nurse showed me them!

Face I guess I could test on Sunday at the earliest as that would make me 12dpo but I'm too chicken and probably want to retain the illusion of still being PUPO

Yes it's a blood test Keep

Beedle how are you keeping? Good luck for tmrw, brooking for you!

Geek how were your blood levels and scan today? Are you back again tmrw?

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 04/06/2013 17:47

Oooh solars not long to go now!! How are you feeling about it all? Too early to symptom spot no doubt who'm I trying to kid?

maybe!!! Lovely to see you back, I'm so pleased the wedding went well (and of course that you had a fab holiday). I'm really sorry down-regging isn't agreeing with you, they do seem to be the harder drugs to stomach. Not long to go though, lovely, then you'll be on the lovely stims which will make you feel so much better.

beedle your plan sounds like a good'un - I don't think I'd be able to work after the official test either. I think they make OTD so late so that there are no chances of false tests in either direction (from the trigger or false negs). Wow to your progesterone tampons, they certainly do things differently in Sweden, don't they?

keep 7 weeks? Eeeek! Can't wait to have lunch with you and sparks - when will you start house hunting? When does MrK's job start?

As for me... you lovely ladies have triumphed again with your brooking vibes. My hormones have actually dropped a little, and my consultant has booked me in for EC on this Thursday! The nerves are really kicking in now. No more scans, no more blood tests, just cetrotide and trigger shot tonight then brook like mad that righty remains accessible for the op. I have been warned that I will feel like I've done a few rounds with Frank Bruno, because they know they will need to do a lot of manipulation to get around the fibroid. But the main thing is, they believe that they will be able to. I am beside myself with glee, and was desperate to share this with you since the call came through around 3pm, but bloody people have been at my bloody desk all bloody day damn them Grin

ControlGeek · 04/06/2013 17:48

solars I've just seen your post about the progesterone injections

RubberBullets · 04/06/2013 18:34

That's fab news Geek. Pesky people expecting you to work while at work :o

SweetieTime · 04/06/2013 19:37

Geek great news on the trigger shot front. I can imagine you will be sore so hope you have the time off sorted with dinkboss.

Maybe lovely to see you, Italy sounds amazing. Shame the downregging is tough but it will make stimming seem like a breeze.

Beedle my DH was asked if he wanted to provide a 2nd sample but refused and obviously they got enough from the first one. Well done MrB I can imagine it must have been a struggle for him.

Solars I think I was 12dpEC when I tested. I would recommend a good quality stick rather than IC as we all know how unpredicatable they can be.

I have started weening off the progesterone I am on but never heard of the gel before. You will have to let us know how messy it is. I am sick of the fall out of the capsules I am using but it will be worth it in the long run.

Solars · 04/06/2013 21:22

Yay Geek you're triggering tonight, well done, lovely!! Well in terms of symptoms, errrm tmi alert, but this morning I woke up horny as hell and I've also been having very vivid dreams and I also got cm today with the tiniest smudge of brown in it, but I don't really think any of them count Hmm

Sweetie I think I'll be too terrified to test early. How many weeks are you now?

OP posts:
EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 04/06/2013 21:45

Vivid dreams, definitely a symptom, it really is, s remember posting about stupid vivid dreams while I was on holiday then got home and got my BFP :):):)

Ooh solars!!! Crosses fingers even tighter...

And geek what brilliant news on EC!

beedle hops all goes well today. Having a full bladder for an hour and having to use a, cringe, bedpan was the worst part of the whole ivf for me! But I think most clinics don't fill you up as much, or make you lie down so long.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 05/06/2013 06:36

Yeah geek no more injections, enjoy your drug-free day :o I would think you will feel pretty battered afterwards, mine was very easy with half as many eggs and I feel like I've been punched in the stomach a few times.

Can someone tel me when the bloating goes away, I look pregnant

solars sounds promising How many days post EC are you now? 8, 9?

sweetie so far the gel hasn't been messy at all. The nurse said it would feel like it was all falling out but that didn't matter. But, so far, I've hardly leaked at all. I even went back and pulled the dispenser out of the bin to check the gel had actually gone inside me Blush And I only have to do it once per day, which is good cos I couldn't discreetly slip one in my pocket to take to the loo at work.

So ET this afternoon, as long as I don't get a call at 12 to say there's nothing left to transfer. Please don't let that happen. So hopefully I will be PUPO this afternoon :o :o

keep I just have to not go to the toilet one hour beforehand, they didn't even tell me to drink that much wine The nurse said I should just feel a little bit in need of the toilet, not absolutely desperate. I guess the doctor doesn't want pee in their face :o

Oh and sweetie I'm glad someone else was asked to provide a second sample, though I don't think Mrb realised he could say no.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 05/06/2013 07:18

Brooking super hard for this afternoon Beedle :)

ControlGeek · 05/06/2013 07:49

solars those sound like rather convincing symptoms to me - you're 8 DPEC now?

keep I think a lot of clinics just go for the half-full bladder, but mine have said that because of the fibroid mine needs to be full. They seemed pleased when I did a trial transfer last year (It was full to bursting) but I have no idea how I would be supposed to lie with it full for a whole hour - I was terrified of letting it all fly in the consultant's face as it was Blush

beedle brook brook brooking for you this afternoon my lovely. With all those eggs, they should have a strong chance of being able to pick the best, most developed one. Do you know how many they will put back, or is that all dependent on emby quality? Thank you for the warning, btw. I'd rather know in advance that I will feel like shit, than have it take me by surprise afterwards iykwim.

sweetie yes, I have arranged a lot of time off. I will be out of the office from this Thursday to a week on Friday. I will then be in the office for 4 days brooking like mad that AF doesn't show up on 13DPEC as that would be within those 4 days then I'm out of the office on annual leave for a week and a day, hopefully to coincide with my finding out if it has worked or not.

I couldn't resist this morning. 5000iu of HCG coursing through my veins, of course I was going to take a test! Took an IC and a Morrisons special, purely in the interests of science, of course. The IC showed a line within 30 seconds. The Morrisons special took just over a minute to start to show. 10 minutes later, the IC line is marginally darker than the Morrisons special, though both are strong lines. IC is purportedly 10iu sensitivity and Morrisons is 15iu so maybe that accounts for the difference. Am going to keep testing now until the sticks show clear.

keepitgoing · 05/06/2013 07:58

beedle my bloating went down a bit, but then was horrendous and also painful from weeks 4-6ish. I looked six months by the evening...

geek good science experiment! Ok so I had to lie there an hour, after 20mins I begged to Ho to the loo and was given a bed pan but I found it hard to empty the bladder lying down, and they'd made me drink so much I needed the loo again really soon... I was so embarrassed I don't know why as they'd all just been looking up my chuff, and only dh was there for the bed pan incident but... Anyway, hope you won't be lying down for ages
