Come on ladies, this is the one! Time for some BFPs!

The smallprint- Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers)

Lol at the sperm omelette. I mean I've tried some desperate things but even I'd draw the line at that!! Shock

Bajas · 05/05/2013 18:35

I can only imagine dh's face if I suggested the sperm omelette. Grin. He'd think I'd gone even more crazy!!

yorkiebilb · 05/05/2013 18:39

Sperm omelette! ha ha. I read it to DH and he was Shock but then said I bet you're thinking about trying it now!

In good mood today....my footie team are off to Wembley again and I've FINALLY got a positive on a opk! Smile

CharmingCats · 05/05/2013 18:44

Shock at the omelette. Where did that idea come from. I had heard of people using egg white as a substitute for ewcm, but never nuked or in a mooncup. Please tell me that it was just coincidence that she happened to get a bfp that cycle! Dear god!
I do agree that people have lost their social inhibitions thanks to fb and the like. There are very few social boundaries anymore as you can just post it online and forget it. People have let their own boundaries slide and no longer think that others may have still have them. I remember feeling incredibly anxious about my own life when I started using fb and after looking on it yesterday for the first time in months, I couldn't get to sleep for thinking of all the people and photos.... Bad.
sid glad you had a talk with DH. You have to hold hope that things will be different now. Sounds as though he had heard and understood.

BookTart · 05/05/2013 19:22

Good news on the positive opk yorkie. And congrats to foody and frog! It has all been happening whilst I've been hidden under a duvet on the sofa of pity.

Sorry that I've been AWOL this month. I've been having a really hard time with it all. I spent most of yesterday on the sofa feeling miserable and inexplicably angry in partner's general direction. Had a couple of G&Ts to cheer myself up, and then realised this morning that AF was a couple of days late. Yep, post drinking-binge BFP [shame]. I'm hoping this one stays put, and that my current nausea is baby rather than gin related, because the whole omelette thing really isn't all that appealing...

Bunnygirlie · 05/05/2013 19:34

Oh wow tart another BFP?!?!?

OP posts:
yorkiebilb · 05/05/2013 19:51

Woo hoo book GrinGrin

Bajas · 05/05/2013 19:52

tart congratulations! Sounds like this could be the start of a bfp extravaganza Grin

BookTart · 05/05/2013 20:04

Cheers everyone! This thread does seem to be on a bit of a roll Grin

happylass · 05/05/2013 20:21

Woohoo Booktart!! Congrats. Went on a bit of an impromptu booze binge myself yesterday at a beer and cider festival. By far the most I've drunk since starting TTC. AF due in the next few days so hopefully the law of sod will come in to play and I can join the BFP gold rush Smile

Bunnygirlie · 05/05/2013 20:43

Anybody joining me on the pity sofa this evening?!? Wine for all except the jammy ones!

BoodIeBee · 05/05/2013 21:38

What?! I've been here the whole time!

Yeah...I've been AWOL too. Wish I could roll in and reveal a BFP like Book but it's not to be. Congrats Book Frog!

I'm mentally preparing for HSG on Wednesday. Really not looking forward to it and am contemplating getting hammered beforehand!

I'm pleased to see that in my absence there have been lots of potential ideas for the next thread title: lunching, sperm omelettes and cat vom!

Bunnygirlie · 05/05/2013 22:27

Come sit with me boodle how you been?

Can I ask what tests you had before you got to the hsg stage?

OP posts:
happylass · 05/05/2013 22:31

Room for a little one on the sofa Bunny and Boodle? Can feel the AF cramps starting so she won't be long now Sad
Going to try to see the GP again this week so also interested to know what happens next.....

BoodIeBee · 05/05/2013 22:56

Of course you may ask, dear Bunny! Can I just list 'my journey' so far and you can take from it what interests you!

Aug 2012: First trip to GP to raise concerns. Ordered CD21 bloods for thyroid and progesterone (and possibly other stuff that I don't know about). Thyroid a little high but not in treatment range. Come back in 3 months.

Dec 2012: (House move, new GP): See new GP. She orders CD21 and CD4 tests. She also books me in for a swab test to check for infections. Nothing revealed by blood tests so she refers me to hospital for dildocam.

Jan 2013: Dildocam results clear. Referred to fertility consultant at hospital.

Apr 2013: First meeting with FC. Orders repeat progesterone tests and prolactin tests and books me in for HSG. Follow-up appointment in July to discuss results of both and next steps.

Bunnygirlie · 05/05/2013 23:10

Plenty of room happy how's you? Well apart from evil witch of course!

Crikey a whole year into your fertility journey, it's a long old process isn't it Sad thank you for sharing boodle. Guess I'm still on stage one, blood tests showed thyroid fine but progesterone low, got to have a third one but gonna miss it this month as on holiday grrrrrr

BlindKitty · 06/05/2013 06:04

book fab news, can I ask how long you've been trying for? Any top tips haha?

Re moon cup omelette, what happens if the egg goes off before it leaves you? Guessing rotten egg minge won't go down well with dh!!!!

Bunny, I had basically all the tests that boodle had before my Hsg, apart from the dildocam...wondering why I haven't had that though. Has everyone else?

Boodle loving the potential new thread title!!!

Well guys there's still no effing sun here grrr, bet its scorching in uk isn't it??

BookTart · 06/05/2013 07:11

kitty, we'd been trying since December 2011 with a cp last October, and have another fc appointment next week to go through the results of my many didlocams and the hsg from last month. I'm wondering if it is the magic effect of the hsg? Partners sa was borderline rubbish, but not so bad that we were straight to ivf. Fc suggested that iui was our next step.

boodle - the hsg wasn't too bad really (I thought). I've had millions of smears and colposcopies though, so I'm a bot of a professional at having medical equipment chucked up my fanjo. I know that some people find that if they have a blockage that gets washed out by the dye it can be a bit grim though.

No sun here yet kitty. Weirdly misty at the mo!

BlindKitty · 06/05/2013 08:40

book that's what happened to my friend post Hsg,no joy for me though. So did you ever actually get to iui? My first iui is due very soon, hoping for a letter when I get back from holiday.

boodle that does make me feel better. Thank god dh ripped game of thrones for the iPad!

BookTart · 06/05/2013 09:20

No kitty, my appointment with the fc to discuss iui is booked for the week after next. I'll cancel it at the end of next week if things are going okay, but I'm still worried about another cp so I'm hanging on to it for now in case. I hope your letter is waiting for you when you get back :)

GooseyD · 06/05/2013 09:43

Happy bank holiday

Kitty and Boom thank you for the support of your cat and dog Smile

Frog and Book and Foody it really gives hope to hear of bfps after difficult journeys there - and I can so understand the nervousness and 'imposter' feelings.

Frog I think you're right to be wary of announcing to your friend who may not be TTC in a way that implies she is or should be - and as others have said I would go for the text or email (not during work hours).

Teachers I reckon you just have to go for it, it's difficult enough anyway! I had a GCSE teacher who went on maternity in exam prep time, and we had a rubbish cover - BUT if anyone asked me if I thought she should have waited the answer would be no every time.

barkingtreefrog · 06/05/2013 11:10

Ooo congratulations Book another one!!!! Grin Grin Grin

I'll catch up properly later, just needed to pop in to selfishly ask for some positive berry vibes. Off for lunch with the MiL and DP's brother and SiL will be there with child and bump. Haven't seen them since bump was announced and she blocked me on fb. I am scared I am not going to handle this well. We're about half an hour away in the car and I can ready feel myself choking up. Can someone please slap me with a sausage and be ready to lunch me if necessary. I do not want to embarrass myself in front of his family or cause any more family tension when there's plenty there already Sad .

SidneyBristow · 06/05/2013 11:25

Sending good vibes your way barking; you got this! Just pretend you hadn't noticed the block. Think of how happy you'll be when it's your bump on display; just try not to think about hers. Let us know how it goes! Thanks

CharmingCats · 06/05/2013 12:05

sending good vibes to barking. You can do it! Agree with sid, just pretend you hadn't noticed the block Biscuit

BlindKitty · 06/05/2013 12:09

Barking just be like 'oh goodness, you've had a baby, I didn't realise!!!! Then if she pisses you off, I'm sending the cat in...
