Newbies very welcome provided they meet the strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers) and bring a bouquet of sausages when they join!

Bunny, when you say making babies books, do you mean practical, informative, scientific books, or are you talking 50 Shades of Grey stylee?

(No to the first, a resounding no to the second.)

Boodlebum · 14/04/2013 22:08

Teachers in the house, guess what I'm about to start doing...my planning! Oh yeah, that's right! I haven't done any maths planning for this week.

I live fast and loose, me.

Bunnygirlie · 14/04/2013 22:39

boodle scientific ones please, have read 50 shades of shite, never again!

Sidney, 38, married, cycle 9, AF/BFP due 8th April. IC OPK newbie, will start temping next month if necessary bc I buckle under peer pressure & don't like feeling left out
Tally 33, TTC since 2009, 3 mmc and possibly 1cp. waiting for mc specialist appointment still so not allowed TTC at the mo.
barking, 33, cycle 16, co duchess of short LP. Varying cycle length. AF due somewhere around 11th-21st April. Long awaited fc appointment 17th April.
Pipbin, 38, married 11 years, cycle 19, blocked tubes, first IVF appointment 9th April hoping for a miracle, AF due 28th April

Bajas age 38 (39 in July eek!). Got married July 2012 and have been trying ever since. Dreadfully irregular cycles so on cycle 7- last one was 17 days, one before was 38 so no idea when bfp could appear.

Any words of wisdom welcomed!!

Boodlebum · 14/04/2013 22:44

Sorry - I've not bothered buying any books. I'm like Barking and I've just stuck with Dr Google. TCOYF is the one I get heard talked about the most. if I were to buy a book, that would be the one I'd at least start by looking at.

Boodlebum · 14/04/2013 22:46

Hello Trying! Glad you found us OK! (Although I think most of the Berries have retired to bed tonight!)

Trying123 · 14/04/2013 22:49

Thanks Boodlebum!, off to bed myself too, just wanted to check I could navigate my way round here! night x

CharmingCats · 14/04/2013 22:55

As far as books go, the one I like the best is:
www.amazon.co.uk/Impatient-Womans-Guide-Getting-Pregnant/dp/1451620705/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1365976329&sr=8-1&keywords=the+impatient+women%27s+guide+to+getting+pregnant
But I also highly recommend tcoyf, especially for the cm and temping information. Both are written in an accessible style, but the first one is quite funny and really resonates with the berry sense of humour. She recommends tcoyf, so the advice is complementary.

CatsCantFlyFast · 15/04/2013 00:02

trying hellloooo! I can't say much about a short LP (seeing as mine seem to last forever) but I would gently recommend more than 1 cycle temping prior to trying any supplants (not sure if I read you right so ignore me if I'm wrong!). Only reason being that most people have an odd cycle once in a while and supplements can stuff up a normal cycle so I'd want to be sure I had an issue before I tried anything. FX for you, and you know your body best so ignore me as I'm sure to be wrong
In my world I'm off to bed. Can't pimp in the morn as none left, but hopefully will have arrived while I'm at work tomorrow. Theres not much point me testing without FMU this early but not sure that will stop me tomorrow eve Had the same 'pains' from last month all afternoon but nothing since about 6pm. Can you 2ww-ers all please come out the woodwork so I'm not the only boring paranoid weirdo...

CatsCantFlyFast · 15/04/2013 00:04

Also tryin, would you try temping? For some people OPK's are not accurate and outside of blood tests, temperatures are the best way to pinpoint and confirm O

Boodlebum · 15/04/2013 00:12

Omg! Sausage wangling on Keith Lemon right now!!!

Boodlebum · 15/04/2013 00:12

Oops... Wanging, not wangling! Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 15/04/2013 00:14

Is Keith Lemon stealing our Gail's idea?? (Not watching as in bed)

Boodlebum · 15/04/2013 00:27

He absolutely is! The cheek of it! God, the things I watch to put off packing my bag and admitting it's a school night!

Frogcatcher · 15/04/2013 07:09

Morning berries. I was already fast asleep so missed the sausage wangling on TV. Chart purists will be glad to hear that it's looking a lot better so far this month than last months crazy temps. CD7 here - just yaaawn between AF & shag fortnight. Irritatingly even tho I was up early for the car boot yesterday I couldn't temp as DP got me up an hour before to complain about a cat poop disaster in the kitchen caused by me shutting the cats in a cat flap malfunction.
Hope you all have good first days back teachers. SS isn't back till thurs - private schools eh?! I hate the differential but our kid thinking optimistically today will have to go to state school as we can't afford the fees for another tho SS's school is lovely. (DPs ex earns more than him).

Frogcatcher · 15/04/2013 07:13

Oh and welcome trying! Hope you've brought your pimping pot Grin

yorkiebilb · 15/04/2013 07:38

Morning all!

Lots of posts to catch up on. Hope you're all okay on this sunny morning.

Bizarre dream #2 was being chased by terrorists which was very scary and then it turns out my assigned fertility doctor was one of the terrorists! WTF!!!!

Bunnygirlie · 15/04/2013 08:26

Morning!

trying welcome, where did you pop up from? Lol

merkin I am kind of on the 2ww, AF due next Monday but of course this is my month of not really trying Wink

OP posts:
Thundercatsarego · 15/04/2013 09:00

merkin as you know I'm the same as you. Not really trying here either though as I don't think we have a chance til the drugs kick in more. So no symptom spotting here although last time I got pg I don't think I had any anyway. Until v v sore boobs a couple of days before af due.

I missed the sausage wanting too although I have a feeling that it is a phenomenon not unique to MN. On the other thread I'm on we slap with fish. And we have a poas system too which works remarkably well in terms of bfps. Just not for me!

Hmmm to dream 2 yorkie, that's not. Very subtle message about what's going on in your head is it?!

yorkiebilb · 15/04/2013 09:16

I know! Anyone else had any bizarre dreams recently about ttc?

On a positive note, I didn't see one baby on board badge on my journey in this morning! Grin

Thundercatsarego · 15/04/2013 09:33

I did I did!

I dreamt that I did a pg test and it not only told me I was pg, it told me it was twins. Something to do with yet another line on the stick!

yorkiebilb · 15/04/2013 09:58

Sounds like a much more positive dream than mine thunder!

BookTart · 15/04/2013 10:56

Blimey yorkie, that dream would be enough to put me off altogether I think! No dreams about ttc here thankfully :)

Have had a bit of a break from the whole thing for a week or so, sorry to have been absent from the sofa. I hope everyone is doing okay Flowers

I've been getting very upset about October's mc/cp thing, and it all came to a head in Asda a few days ago when I saw a pg woman who was roughly the same size as I would be now, and I ended up crying up and down the aisles like a mad woman! I've also had to block a few people on Twitter (which I use for work) because they are diffed and keep chatting about it, which is upsetting me. I know I'm being a bit mad unreasonable, so I'm trying to chill out a bit atm.

Anyway, first USS with dildocam today showed leading follicles on both sides. I'm back at the hospital tomorrow for HSG and then back again on Wednesday to track the follicles. All fun and games here!

Tallyra · 15/04/2013 11:23

lots of hugs tart. I know how you feel about the woman at the same stage as you. My boss has just given me a thank you card for the quilt I made her and it's personalised with a photo of her baby, born the week after mine would have been. I am a bit at a loss what to do with it - keep it up in my office or burn it.Sad

On another note, dh expressed concerns last night about getting a bit too obsessed at the moment, so I have agreed that as the temping confirmed that I am 'normal' ov and lp wise I will give it a rest now until I see the fc. but I am still going to push for an appt. I've been lost in the system once too many Angry

BookTart · 15/04/2013 12:03

Oh tallyra, that's so difficult, especially with the photo. I think I'd put it on my desk where I couldn't see it for a week and then discreetly bin it.

FWIW I agree with your dh about the temping and everything. So far as I can see my cycle is also pretty regular so I gave up temping and pimping because it was making me a bit batty - maybe have a bit of a breather from it until the fc tells you otherwise? Neither of the two gps I've seen about this nor the consultant at the fc have been interested in my temp charts, so they were just for my own peace of mind anyway, and as they weren't helping with that I've taken a bit of a break!
