Newbies very welcome provided they meet the strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers) and bring a bouquet of sausages when they join!

Hi Guys

I'm back! Decided on a name change (Soph80 was somewhat conspicuous) although blindkitty also kinda gives the game away Decided that people that know me really don't need to know my cd, af, cm, etc etc!

Anyway, whats new? Any graduates whilst I've been gone?

Bunnygirlie · 13/04/2013 20:30

Hey kitty, no grads in a long long time!

BlindKitty · 13/04/2013 20:46

Bunny thats rubbish. Been trying to 'play it cool' and not obsess so much so decided not to come on here to see if it helped. Guess what? Still not effing pregnant lol so just going to come back on when I like regardless of what dh thinks

Boodlebum · 13/04/2013 21:08

Gah! So much stuff to read every time I come on here! That does it; I'm just going to have to give up teach and become a full-time 'veg on the sofa and read mumsnet-ter'!

Welcome back Soph Kitty! I was wondering where you had got to...mainly because I wanted to hear about your 'Last Leg' audience experience!(Hope I'm not perpetuating the sensation of being 'outed' there!

So, I had a letter through today about my HSG. I have to book it on my next 'CD1'. I was absolutely amazed to have got the letter through so quickly, but am now quite nervous about it as the letter said how it can be very difficult and upsetting and I should have someone there with me to take me home!!! Shock I'm sure if it was that bad I'd have heard about it on here, I know Pip's had one - it wasn't awful, was it?!

BlindKitty · 13/04/2013 21:16

Boodle lol you've not outed me! I think changing my name to an even more conspicuous name has done that (I have a blind cat).

The Last Leg was great! Alex put is on the guest list so we got to wait in a little bar area and has some free drinks, rather than wait hours like everyone else. Didn't really get on telly though (sad)

Don't worry about the HSG. I panicked about mine and it was absolutely fine in the end! Did have some odd discharge a few weeks later like papier mache (sorry tmi but thought you should know so you don't freak when you see it like me!).

Boodlebum · 13/04/2013 21:21

Thanks, Kitty - that slightly reassures me re: HSG! I am completely pissed off about having to wear a hospital gown though; I don't do leg exposure! I've never had to wear a hospital gown/have an x-ray before...will I have to be completely in the nip underneath?!

BlindKitty · 13/04/2013 21:34

Boodle hmmm well I definitely didn't have knickers on but I think I kept my bra on. My biggest complaint was not having any knickers in the room with me as when the radiographer had finished she put a sanitary towel there and I had to waddle back to the room where my clothes were without dropping it!

Although I obviously haven't had any success, my friend fell pregnant immediately after hers (after about 2 years ttc). She MC but then fell pregnant the next cycle. She's convinced it dislodged something blocking her tubes.

Boodlebum · 13/04/2013 21:39

I'd love to imagine that I will also magically fall pregnant after my HSG. I'm pretty sure my problem is hormonal though - maximum 9 day luteal phase. I'm getting progesterone and prolactin done this month and I think that's more likely to turn up a problem than the HSG.

I hope they let me keep my bra on...I'm a G cup and not exactly happy when the girls are on the loose! Grin

Boodlebum · 13/04/2013 21:39

Oops! Just getting to reading back properly; happy birthday, Cats!

BlindKitty · 13/04/2013 21:49

boodle lol at 'the girls'. I was convinced it was the answer to everything, but unfortunately, 23 cycles down the line, we have no answers (sad). With short luteal phases don't they give you progesterone to remedy the problem?

Boodlebum · 13/04/2013 21:54

Kitty, how many cycles in were you when you had the HSG?

My progesterone tests have thus far come back 'normal' (although on the very low end of normal). However, they were taken on CD21 and, in both cases, AF started within the following 4 days. Fertility consultant was not happy about this and said I had to get another one done that was seven days before AF. I am going to get it done this cycle, and I will be amazed if it comes back normal, as that will only be 2DPO!

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/04/2013 21:57

Boodle there will be no need to take your bra off. Perhaps carry your knickers with you (in your hand/a bag)? to help with the sanitary towel issue. I can;t believe they don't think these things through and give you paper pants or something with the towel. kitty i am very intrigued how you walked to a room with a sanitary towel and no pants unless you put it on upside down and stuck it to your yoni

Boodlebum · 13/04/2013 22:05

Oh thank god! The girls can stay contained! I'm 30 now; they're not as perky as they used to be...I can't imagine a baggy hospital gown will be good look for me full stop, let alone with an unsupported pair of blouse bunnies! (Not to be confused with our Bunny, of course...)

Merks, I'll be amazed if I'm compus mentis enough to remember to take my pants with me! Perhaps I should use a pair of pants as my hair scrunchie? (A la Cosmo) Then I won't find myself caught short! I suspect they meant a thong though, rather than a massive pair of sanitary-towel-accomodating-granny-panties. Grin

BlindKitty · 13/04/2013 22:29

Merkin with strategic placement and prayers that I wouldn't drop it in the corridor!!!!

Boodle Yes DO take spare knickers in! I had mine at 18months ttc

PoppySeedBun · 13/04/2013 22:30

The nurse for my HSG helpfully reminded me to take my pants with me in the pocket of the dressing gown / robe thing so that I would have then there. Didn't find it traumatic at all - bit uncomfortable, but not as bad as a smear for me.

happylass · 13/04/2013 22:34

Welcome back Kitty! Lol at 'sanitary towel waddle' and sticking a pad to one's Yoni Grin
Home alone with only AF cramps for company this evening so definitely deserving of a spot on the sofa of pity.

Boodlebum · 13/04/2013 22:39

Thank you Poppy, Kitty and Merks for the reassurance! I was really surprised by the tone of the letter/leaflet; it makes it sound like an utterly traumatic experience! Yes, I guess it's not going to be nice, but I've managed smears, swabs and dildocams so far...it can't be too much worse!

Boodlebum · 13/04/2013 22:42

Is it just me who's going a bit cross-legged at the thought of sticking an upside down sanitary towel to their yoni?! Yoni is a most excellent word. Next time I DTD for the purpose of TTC, I'm going to lie on my back and wave my yoni in the air like I just don't care!

BlindKitty · 13/04/2013 22:52

lol at yoni - Merks is this a made-up word???? Just for the record, it was strategically placed not stuck upside down lol!

Happy thanks its good to be back!

Afraid I'm taking up lots of room on the pity sofa - only because my friends have all gone out and I've stayed in as I know I'll break and drink alcohol if I go out! This TTC lark really is DULL!!!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/04/2013 22:55

oh kitty you have missed the yoni thread(s). get yourself over to classics....

BlindKitty · 13/04/2013 23:03

Oh clearly I have missed loads! Is there anything else (gossip/new vocab/etc) that I've missed????

Boodlebum · 13/04/2013 23:15

You haven't missed a lot, Kitty; that's the beauty of us Elderberries. We just keep rumbling along with not a lot changing. Humph!

I'm going to bed now, Berries! Early night for me! Night!
