Newbies very welcome provided they meet the strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers) and bring a bouquet of sausages when they join!

Pip I have no idea about LP. I usually ov on day 10/11. So that would be 14 days ish? Is that as it should be? I have never had a cycle longer than 26 days.
I dont even use ov sticks any more as it was annoying me spending the money each month when it didnt help! We tried dtd for 5 days in a row before and over ov time. Pointless! So now we just dtd eod from day 7-21, less stress.

Just had a load of blood tests done for the fertility app in June so I guess if there is some ov/hormone issue that will pick them up. Fertility doctor was not concerned with 24 days, or even 22 which I sometimes get...

Am cross! Had 2 slices of cheese on toast, chocolate and most of a big bag of crisps along with a massive glass of prosecco to make me feel better!!

Boodlebum · 11/04/2013 19:08

I am SO glad I don't live in the city; those 'Baby on Board' badges would really get me down! I sort of understand how they might be useful for the tube. However, giving your seat up for a preggo when you're desperately TTC yourself must be a real kick in the teeth.

*Wimwom" any idea when they plan to bring the TSH reference range down to 3? I've read about this online, but seems like it was suggested 7 or so years ago and it still hasn't changed.

Thundercatsarego · 11/04/2013 19:11

Hey boodle what happened about your tsh in the end, I forget because I'm an old idiot

Did they say they'd look at it?

Boodlebum · 11/04/2013 19:25

Thunder, the FC took a look but wasn't interested as TSH was coming down. (4.6, then 3.9 then 3.6 over the last 6 months) However, to be fair, she listened to my worries about symptoms and she is going to check my prolactin and progesterone. My progesterone levels were barely there last time they were checked and that wasn't on the right day either. If progesterone is low, that could be causing high prolactin, which could be affecting thyroid...apparently!!!

Bodies are confusing!

Thundercatsarego · 11/04/2013 19:34

That was the noise of my brain exploding.

Who am I kidding. It's

Boodlebum · 11/04/2013 19:34

To clarify, when I say 'barely there' I mean they were barely in normal range. My last progesterone reading was 29.6 and the reference range was >30. Doctor seemed to think rounding up was OK Hmm. (I would say you've set it at 29.5, but what do I know...)

Boodlebum · 11/04/2013 19:38

If I tilt my head to one side, I think I can feel my brain leaking out of my ear...

Thundercatsarego · 11/04/2013 20:04

Put your head upright, quick!

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/04/2013 20:16

cherry just read your diet update. In all honesty I think it's absolutely brilliant that you potentially can do something to help, despite it maybe being tough/pain in the arse, its great to get some control back. The only think I'm surprised about is the go back in 3 months, my understand was that diet changes (including stopping alcohol) took at least 3 months to have any affect on your hormones. However I am basing that on Dr Google so on reflection I will shut up!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/04/2013 20:19

puppy I am speculating but can a short cycle with a normal LP not give the opposite problem where the lining of your womb does not have enough time to build up post AF and pre egg arriving?

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/04/2013 20:37

puppy there's not much research but this suggests so... www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/14664409/

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/04/2013 20:39

Oh and Yonis part 2

PuppyMummy · 11/04/2013 20:40

Hmm interesting merkin, thanks. Wonder what can be done about that then. Ill ask at the next appointment.

Stupid womb!

happylass · 11/04/2013 20:47

Merks where did Brian come from?? I thought the OP was called HullDad?

PuppyMummy · 11/04/2013 20:53

happy they named him Brian (mn posters!)
The new thread is funny because some ppl haven't seen the original thread and think its being serious!!

cherrycoconut · 11/04/2013 20:56

Oh damn it Puppy sorry to hear that. Tis definitely a day for expletives...

Pip it was a private consultation, trying not to think of the cost of all this but can I afford not to? Argh!

Barking thanks for that, have a bouquet of sausages at once. I can't eat them anyway Wink

Tallyra · 11/04/2013 21:14

Those baby on board badges would really get me something, depending on the day - pissed off or tearful or something. A friend on dc2 was posting about the fact that people didn't take any notice of hers on her commute, so I think people are pretty bored with them too.

Tallyra · 11/04/2013 21:23

Oh wow cherry, that diet sounds brutal. Dh went on an exclusion diet for a month before discovering our lactose intolerance. It was hard going to start with and although we got used to it after a while, he never wants to eat linseed again. But the final possible outcome is so fantastic that I think I'd try it even knowing it'll be hard. Good luck!

Wimwom · 11/04/2013 21:27

Boodle - think soon, apparently some new guidelines published recently in BMJ re fertility, miscarriage and TSH. But until said by NICE are just guidelines.
Cherry - diet sounds hard, but encouraging. A friend of mine's husband went from a "did u cough in this pot?" To a normal semen sample simply through diet. Sounds like a really positive step.

Boodlebum · 11/04/2013 21:46

Wimwom keep me posted if you hear any more about it; I'll be straight my doctors and moaning at them again.

Cherry, I'm going to be nosey about your nutritionalist visit. Were there lots and lots of questions? Is it very specifically tailored to you and you alone or is it for you and DH? I find the whole healthy eating thing so confusing. So much stuff is good for you one minute and bad the next. I would quite like someone to just tell me exactly what to eat and when!

barkingtreefrog · 11/04/2013 21:58

Noooo!!! You're doing it to me again merk! I was awake gone midnight reading thread 1 in bed last night and trying to suppress my hysterics so as not to wake DP!!! Grin

Bunnygirlie · 11/04/2013 22:01

Evening all, Crikey lots to read up on!

Question, how much are the thermometers if I did decide to take the plunge and temp?

I get a lie in tomorrow yay! Grin Blood test at 10 so no rushing to get to work!

OP posts:
cherrycoconut · 11/04/2013 22:04

Boodle there was a 6 page advance questionnaire to begin with on history, family, symptoms, diet, food reactions etc. then a followup one more tailored to specific ishoos and I sent my test results to date. Then today we had a 1hr 15 consultation about it all in more detail and she also talked through concepts and recommendations.

I've now had a tailored plan sent through which looks reeeallly hardcore, plus a list of extra supplements I have to take. It's very specifically just for me and all my peculiar ways . Scary biscuits.

cherrycoconut · 11/04/2013 22:06

Noooo Bunny seriously? We've worn you down. Yay! Well done berries, the bouncy one may finally be succumbing to the PIMPING ways.
