Welcome aboard ladies (though obviously sorry you have to be here). We're a friendly bunch so come in and plump up a cushion for POAS Fridays and lots of posifrickingtivity. With a few (gentle) fish slaps thrown in for good measure.

Alyant79 - I too felt like that last cycle - it was the first one since the miscarriage and I had convinced myself we would fall pregnant on the first go - when AF arrived I felt like I was going through the miscarriage again xx

Mummytothearkbuilder · 30/04/2013 15:07

Silly me - just started to get my hopes up and AF has arrived :-(

Onwards to the next cycle x

alyant79 · 30/04/2013 16:23

ah boo mummy
oh the plus side there seem to be a lot of us at the same cycle, so we can all be POAS buddies next time - for the last time of course, as we'll all get BFPs Smile

thanks littlemiss and mummy. Been feeling a bit like everyone else is managing it first go and it's just me Sad even though I KNOW that's not true. littemiss i'm so glad that your body is getting itself back on track. Fx for a bfp for you soon! Selfishly I'm a little bit alarmed and very much hoping that my body gets itself in order a little faster than 6 months

Mummytothearkbuilder · 30/04/2013 16:29

Thanks alyant79 - I am trying to be positive about it (no tears this time .....not yet anyway!). My body seems to be back in sync after the miscarriage and although my cycles are still long (this was 36 days) at least they are regular ish which is something I have never had!!

I am planning on touching base with the doctors this week - if I hadn't had the miscarriage I would be starting clomid this month plus I have stacks of questions following the miscarriage so fingers crossed they listen to me!! Xx

IBelieveInPink · 30/04/2013 20:14

Just peeked in to say hello, and see that tins has some freakin fantastic news!!! Yaay!
Tins- I did exactly the same when I got my BFP. Cleared my diary for mc time. I understand exactly how you feel. However that time has been and gone now, and im still going (massively stressed, day by day going...)
I really really hope this one is your lucky bean x

BirdsDoIt · 30/04/2013 20:58

I definitely put on some weight before we discovered I'd had missed miscarriage - was ravenously hungry ALL the time - followed by a four week diet of comfort eating and not giving a shit. Have started cycling to work again now though and that's definitely helping. Plus a bit more self control around the chocolate...though I did eat one a half Krispy Kreme doughnuts yesterday, whoops.

sal I'm sure you will look beautiful on your wedding day whatever happens. {hug}

alyant cycling holiday sounds fab idea - that was one of the other contenders for us too!

I know there's a teeny weeny part of me that's hoping by some miracle I'll get pregnant again before first AF arrives but that is soooo unlikely I'm mentally hiding the possibility in a small box in my brain and jumping on it occasionally to make sure it stays closed.

Emki · 30/04/2013 21:34

Hugs mummy ensure you book a massage or something x

I've also put on weight! A stone in the last year! Great! Just what I need! However I did do yoga yesterday and trying to eat sensibly - however I'm getting quite partial to a few glasses of wine recently. Will do yoga again tomorrow ... It's the jelly belly ....

Hope everyone ok x

Sapphireday · 30/04/2013 22:23

Thanks for the good luck wishes BDI, it went well but I'm a little achy today! Now I just need to make sure I turn up again next Monday! I too am feeling lots of extra pounds on me - I've just been through my Thailand holiday photos from earlier this month and I've definitely got that pregnancy belly on me. That needs to be blitzed right off.

Just had a lovely evening with a friend I've known since I was 11. Explained to her that I didn't want to talk about the miscarriage and infertility treatment as there were no right things for her to say but oh so many wrong things. It was so nice that she understood and moved the topic along. Hurray for fab friends!

livingzuid · 01/05/2013 10:27

Hi ladies I hope you don't mind a latecomer to this group but I am so glad I found it! I fell preggo in Feb after a year and a half of trying only to m/c 10 days later. I won't go on about that as this is a nice positive thread :) I had my first period in March around 32 days after which I didn't think was too bad and just at the late end of my cycle. It was a bugger tho as it seemed like it would never end. Still, it was good to see it. After m/c I got rid of my app where I had been diligently charting for over a year as I was convinced it was not meant to be. My hubby to be banned me from obsessing on the interwebs over symptoms and scare stories (I am bipolar so need to be careful lol) and so I didn't track. So now I sit at I think 35dpo (very late for me pre m/c) with nothing seemingly on the way and a whole bunch of symptoms I never ever get. Aside from weird twangings and twingings going on down there which feel quite odd but not sore, feeling terrified of testing in case it is positive then the dreaded thing does arrive. Tentatively going to the loo and then worried in case a/f arrives. Not sure if this is just a wtf so trying to pretend it is wtf so I am not too disappointed whilst feeling hopeful! Confused! Anyway this is positivity not negativity so I will stop there haha but thanks for making the thread reading through it made me feel so much better. Lots of positive vibes to you all :)

Bakingtins · 01/05/2013 12:34

Welcome Zuid it sounds like you need to be joining the Friday POASers this week!

Bakingtins · 01/05/2013 12:36

IBIP nice to see you are still checking up on us! Will prob come and say hello on the grads thread for a while anyway

Emki · 01/05/2013 13:30

10 weeks today since erpc and still no AF! And I know I'm not pg as did test and so did doc - I know it's coming soon as OV about 10 days ago but this is just taking so long!!!!!

Anyway - anyone have any tips for me .... Last time when I ttc after my first mc I got extremely anxious when I knew I was OV and felt that this stress delayed getting bfp - does anyone else feel this? Any tips for when I start dtd even though feels like ill never move on big fish slap needed

OneLittleToddleTerror · 01/05/2013 13:38

Welcome zuid. I'm glad our chit chat cheers you up.

Emki sorry you are feeling so anxious. I don't have any tip to help. I too worry we'll have another mc and another heartbreak. But like you, I'm ready to try again on cycle 0. DH asked if we should wait for my AF first, but I just said then we'll miss one cycle. Just remember statistically, you are still more likely to have a successful pregnancy than not after 3 MCs. I've got two consecutive MCs, and I keep telling myself this. Hopefully you'll know either way in 4 days.

alyant79 · 01/05/2013 14:07

emki they do say the stress is counter-productive when it comes to getting pregnant, but who the hell can just decide not to be stressed? I certainly can't.
I would like to just forget about ttc and then miraculously wake up one day and discover that I'm pregnant. I suppose that might happen if i was patient, but the problem is I want it to happen NOW...
maybe this stress is precisely why i didn't get pg on cycle 1 Sad

welcome zuid hopefully we won't be seeing you here for very long (in a nice way) Smile

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/05/2013 14:17

Well, AF kicked in with a vengeance yesterday! I'm doubled over today! Sad which is absolutely no help as this morning I had to bath and delouse all 5 of my ponies, and am now locked out of the house! Confused.
I have a theory about these WTF cycles. Everyone seems to be having them ATM! My theory is that we are all going back to nature! In animals, oestrus is usually triggered to begin in spring when the days get longer and the weather gets warmer. It's all to do with UV levels and hours of daylight. We have all been in a slightly dormant winter state, until the last few weeks when suddenly we have gone from grey and overcast to bright sun and warm temperatures. Rather than ease into spring, all of our bodies have been jerked into action by the sudden weather changes and have gone a bit to pot! We will all be in full reproductive mode now, and will all get BFP next month! Grin

Emki · 01/05/2013 15:59

Thank you OLTT and aly and I like your thinking saggy - I just want to move on!!!

How have everyone's exciting/nice things gone so far? I haven't done mine yet .... But think that having projects and things to look forward to may not likely take my mind off ttc - in currently choosing a new colour for the front door!!! Wow my life is rock n roll xxx

Emki · 01/05/2013 19:44

How are you saggy? What a day for you! Hope you're not in pain and back in house - hopefully running a bath and having a glass of wine. Here's to bfp this month Wine

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/05/2013 20:39

Im fine! I got very wet, very hairy and I now feel like Im crawling, and my back is buggered, but Im pleasantly tired! Grin The cramps hit a crescendo this morning, but are petering off now.
Apparently, Emki, there is absolutely no scientific evidence that stress affects your ability to conceive.
I have a project on the go ATM. I have borrowed stolen Mums sewing machine, and am attempting to make DD14 a dress. She picked some lovely fabric with little roses on it. Fingers crossed it makes up OK.

BirdsDoIt · 01/05/2013 20:45

Well my massage on Monday night was amazing - so glad I did it - it really made me feel better. It was actually half an hour massage and half an hour reflexology and weirdly it was actually the reflexology that I think really made me drift off. She said I'd feel thirsty afterwards and she was right because over the next 24 hours I must have downed about two litres of water! I've been reading up on it since i.e. googling it and apparently reflexology is one of those things that like acupuncture can help with fertility issues. So I may go back for more (it feels great so what's to lose, I suppose!) Anyone here tried anything a bit left field in terms of fertility treatments? I'm the world's biggest sceptic but at the moment I feel like if I can do something which might help and also happens to be quite enjoyable, then I'm there...

Front door painting, emki, I know not exactly wild but I have been immersing myself in DIY stuff too for the last couple of months - it's fun and a bit creative and it feels like something you can control which is more than can be said for other things (goes off into corner muttering over paint samples and copies of ideal home magazine while waiting until it's time to poas). Can't decide between BRIGHT red and teal blue myself...x

BirdsDoIt · 01/05/2013 20:48

saggy glad to hear you're safe and sound inside again! Dress sounds lovely - have been feeling quite inspired by great British sewing bee so if painting ever stops, I'm going to resurrect my sewing machine and make about a zillion cushions!

DD14? Really?

Sapphireday · 01/05/2013 21:07

Glad to hear AF is starting to behave herself now Saggy, hopefully next month she'll be more considerate and postpone her visit till next year Wink.

BDI the massage and reflexology sound lovely, and I think its good that you're pampering yourself as well as getting exercise. I'm taking a leaf out of your book and will be cycling tomorrow. Hopefully my aches from Monday's run will have disappeared by then!

Had to learn how to inject myself this morning with a proper syringe rather than a pen-like device. DP watched me do it and said it made him tingle! How does he think I feel?!

Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine x x

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/05/2013 21:13

Yes. DD14. There is a DS17 as well! Grin

BirdsDoIt · 01/05/2013 22:03

Oh hang on, have I got the wrong end of the stick with the mumsnet lingo? Is DD14 daughter number 14 (which is what I thought when I read it) or daughter aged 14? Confused...(and a little bit stupid, after two large glasses of rosé in the sunshine this evening) x

BirdsDoIt · 01/05/2013 22:05

I.e. I was being surprised about 14 daughters...

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/05/2013 22:36

PMSL! Yes I have a daughter who is 14! Grin imagine combining 14DDs and 17DSs! I'm fairly certain I wouldn't be planning another! Shock Grin
