That reminds me, when I moved to small town France in the late 90s, I was horrified on my first visit to the one big nightclub in town to find youths in shiny white tracksuits breakdancing . I was even more horrified to discover that the loos consisted of a hole in the floor - particularly hazardous given the amount of alcohol I needed to get me through an evening of watching terrible breakdancing whilst wondering if I had gone back in time by a decade. I grew up in London and it was a bit of a culture shock to put it mildly.
