A friendly, supportive thread for lovely ladies taking waaay longer than they ever expected to win their babies

seaviewasia · 06/04/2013 12:26

Gin! Wow! I'm hoping for confirmation of good news on OTD!
Pleeeeeeeaaaaaaassssseeeee let it be good news! Excited for you x

sweetgrouch · 06/04/2013 12:29

Gin - It doesn't have to be dark at 13 dpo, some people don't get a dark positive until a bit later. I would test a few days later and see if it gets any darker. As useless as this sounds, try to distract yourself to avoid mentalling like crazy even though I know I would be going crazy in my head the whole time. I really hope this is it for you.

seaviewasia · 06/04/2013 12:34

And sweet thanks for the explanation re auto immunes. It makes perfect sense and is similar to what the doc told me. Great to have a scientist on thread. Smile

sarlat · 06/04/2013 12:35

Oh gin, oh gin, that is wonderful wonderful news. Hold on tight little bean. Wow, wow, xx

mrsden · 06/04/2013 12:58

YES gin wow, fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!! A line is a line or so they say on these boards, doesn't matter how faint or dark. Banish all ectopic thoughts from your mind, I agree it would be too early to cause you pain if that was the problem.

sar I found your post about mr tubes very interesting. It sounds like he knows what he's talking about. It's so important to have a dr that listens.

akuabadoll · 06/04/2013 13:47

well well gin Grin Brilliant brilliant news. Ignore all weird pains. I had/have lots and lots. Ignore, ignore, ignore. Flowers

joycep · 06/04/2013 14:43

GIN!!!!!!! That is fabulous news. Don't pay any attention to the colour of the lines, if it's there, it's there. And pains are a sign that everything is nestling in. Woohoo, woohoo, woohoo.

Poutintrout · 06/04/2013 15:49

Wow Gin that is amazing Grin So, so, so, so, sooooooo pleased for you!
I second not even thinking about ectopic. possibly stoopid smiley but surely that would be very, very unlikely given that the embie was placed in exactly the place it should be and is v. unlikely to have travelled very far.

rabbitonthemoon · 06/04/2013 16:42

Woo hoo gin!!! And you thought it was PMT! I'm impossibly made up for you, please try not to worry about the cramps, that seems to happen to all 10 plussers?

sweet hope the cramps have eased off and yay for all being well in there.

buzzy well done on the big jab, you are well on the way now. Continued hand hold.

pout gutted for you that egg sharing doesn't appear to be on the table, it really should go on results. I found out fairly early on in the process that my fsh was too high or I would def have considered this. How are you feeling now af has gone?

sar I too was really interested to read about Dr Tubes. I'm hoping that soon I will be referred in to a new doc for IUI. Me and Dr Big are done. It is nice to hear that there are drs out there who listen and actually appear to be interested in fertility! I really hope that clomid will give you that extra boost.

madness I've lost track of where you are up to but hope things are progressing well and it isn't too stressful.

mrsden you have drugs! So glad you are finally at the starting gates with this after all of your waiting, fingers crossed.

sea I am a clean freak and am Shock that a clinic that charges that kind of money is not stringently clean, both for the obvious reasons and also to present a good first impression. It's not like they couldn't afford a decent magazine subscription! Maybe they row over who has to go out and buy the mags. I also have eczema and hayfever. Immunes seem so complicated to me, I still haven't been brave enoughto read up on it properly.

euro how are you doing? Working on bank hols ouch! Sorry that you feel you missed the egg, this whole journey is littered with small and huge let downs I feel. I bet the bfp and baby wipes it all out though.

nelly did af come?

And where on earth is lemon?

I did bikram this morning for the first time in forever and am now collapsed on the sofa in a crumpled ball. I'm a bit Angry as I had got to cd30 with no spotting which is unheard of for me so I've been keeping away from here as in October I felt daft for my online mentalling. Suffice it to say that in spite of trying really hard to be rational, mentalling kicked in properly on cd28 especially as my nipples are SO painful. But I just went to the loo and spotting is here, fairly heavy. I think this is cycle 24? Hello third year of cycles Sad ah well, nothing new and I don't remotely feel like crying. Progress!?

rabbitonthemoon · 06/04/2013 16:43

euro reading back that looks like bfp and baby wipes! This is not what I meant Grin

EuroShaggleton · 06/04/2013 16:51
Grin

I have to say, today's posts have given me a really warm tingly feeling. I love how we all support one another and are so genuinely pleased when one of us graduates!

ThatWayMadnessLies · 06/04/2013 16:52

Not supposed to be on here on our mini holiday but MrM is napping after huge walk so have snuck on. Had to say YIPPEEEEEE!!!! to gin I have absolutely everything crossed for you xx

Will be back on to catch up tomorrow when we get back home xx

rabbitonthemoon · 06/04/2013 17:15

Sneaky wave at madness in poster bed secret posting Smile

euro I like that post. I'm so glad of this group.

I can't move. I need to move though as we are making Chinese Gok Wan style. Hare smashed a bottle of rice wine vinegar in the car park, it went everywhere and I can still smell it. And then on the way home I read gins post and nearly made him crash the car with my squeal.

mrsden · 06/04/2013 17:39

Euro, I agree. I think it's because we all truly understand what it means. We've all been through so much pain together it's wonderful to share the good stuff too. You couldn't get a more deserved bfp than those that happen to 10 plussers.

buzzybee123 · 06/04/2013 17:41

just quickly popping on to say YAY to gin will be back later but up to my eyeballs in DIY

GinSoaked · 06/04/2013 17:55

Thank you so much ladies. I totally agree with euro and mrsd that you are all so lovely and supportive and gracious, esp considering what a shitty time some of you have been through recently. Your posts brought a tiny tear to my eye, in a good way. Am keeping my fingers crossed for another positive tomorrow and if so, I'll book a blood test to see what's happening with the ole hcg and to check that it's not just an evap line

Luffs to all. Hope 4 poster beds, Chinese and DIY are all enjoyed this evening :)

joycep · 06/04/2013 18:34

Agree with Euro & Mrsd. I am totally thrilled when one of us gets that elusive second line. Apart from anything else it offers hope that it can happen and I think the vast majority of us are past the 2-3 year mark now so we have done our time!

Rabbit- oh crappy crap. I am sorry and although it's progress you don't feel like crying, it's still Sad .

I played a tennis match today. This is the first proper bit of exercise since Dec and my god it was painful. My legs actually buckled at one point! Those gestone injections seem to hvae had some long term effect on my back. They are still very painful. My excuse for losing. Hmm

MuddyWellyNelly · 06/04/2013 21:09

Gin Grin that is so so so so nice to hear! Hooray! I really hope this is it for you. Like others said this is the only place where I am happy to hear a pregnancy announcement!

Joy well done on the tennis. I am impressed when there are any attempts at exercise - painful or otherwise!

Rabbit I am so sorry you have been mentalling. You are very grown up to keep it to yourself. Clearly you have been in the similar position to me but have been rather more classy about it. How rubbish that spotting has arrived. I am so sorry.

Doll it is so lovely when you pop in. I miss the grads sooo much :(

AFM - up until now still no AF but tests continue to be white as white can be. I had zero spotting between 6.30 last night and the same time tonight, after 3 days of really very light hardly there spotting. So I won't lie, my head has been jumping faaaarrrr ahead, despite the BFNs. Anyway last toilet check suggested things were maybe ramping up, so I am sure it will arrive very soon. I'm about an hour off a 28 day cycle, which I've not had in about 2 years, so I really did have some hope. Oh well, once AF properly arrives I can get the IVF started.

rabbitonthemoon · 06/04/2013 21:33

Aw sorry nelly that spotting appears to be ramping up, it sucks big time. Nah I'm not classy just felt embarrassed that last time I went on about it, not sure why, I like hearing about everyone else's thoughts. I think because I'd put it out there it felt a little more crushing when it just turned out the same. Like you, this is the longest I've gone before spotting came, though I've had longer cycles, 35 days on the suspect month. It's a pity people get spotting and are then pregnant. If it meant game over it would be easier? Mine has gone entirely for now. Silly womble.

Gin - I almost did a cry at your last post. This really is ace. I wish I felt like this about friends bfps!

EuroShaggleton · 06/04/2013 21:34

joy well done on the exercise. I haven't done any since my mc (although I was gymming during pregnancy until it all went wrong). I feel physically ready now, but I am out of the house for 12 hours a day for work at the moment, so there is just no way I can fit it in.

Nelly I hope your body stops messing you around soon.

gin I'm still grinning at your news.

buzzybee123 · 06/04/2013 22:32

evening ladies

gin this is very exciting Grin as others have said it wouldn't pain from an ectopic, its most likely your uterus stretching for baby gin

nelly sorry about the spotting

madness nice to see you :)

euro sorry Blush I should pay more attention, thanks for the advice about transfers, the aussie is a good sort has no choice as we are all women Wink

sweet you will always be a mysterious scientist to me Grin

joy well done on playing tennis, it was nice weather today although still a little chilly

rabbit big hugs

pout big waves to you

doll hello :)

well I have known for some time that I was tone deaf but I didn't think I was that bad until today when I was painting and listening to my ipod, I started to sing, Kayla sat on the laundry basket and howled like some demented wild animal Hmm Hmm

I have had a very productive day and it has kept me occupied including my mind which is good, can I just ask you who have down regged, did you get many pains around your ovaries, I get the odd twinge, I was expecting more for some reason

waves to everyone else

akuabadoll · 07/04/2013 06:43

nelly that's so sweet, thanks

buz I don't recall anything ovary related during downregging actually. Not sure if that's helpful!

mrsden · 07/04/2013 08:55

How are you doing doll?

I'm raging after reading that ivf thread, such complete ignorance. I cannot believe it.

EuroShaggleton · 07/04/2013 09:15

buzz from what I can remember, I got a few twinges for the first few days and then I think they went to sleep, as they were supposed to, and that was it!

I love that you actually induced caterwauling from Kayla! That's brilliant!

Doll I hope you are doing ok. You must be close to your 12 week scan now? Or is it all on a different schedule over there?

mrsd the one in AIBU? I thought the barrens actually gave the "what about cancer/you can always adopt" crews a good run for their money on that one.

nelly has your body sorted itself out yet?

rabbit definitely progress! I hope you are doing ok today.

rabbitonthemoon · 07/04/2013 09:24

Haven't read whole ivf thread but waded in at the comment about ivf being upsetting but not having an effect in health. God help me if I ever get sat next to someone in real life who dared to voice that to me!
