Mummyto the ark - white CM is better than red/brown - don't be too hasty to rule yourself out already!

(looking in back of fridge to see if any fish are lurking in there)

GardenWorm · 22/03/2013 20:24

Baking yes-the bank Hol bonanza fertile Friday rollover gets you the results you want that's why it's also known as Good Friday, cause its good. Simples. Oh and GP's are officially annoying (apologies if there are any on this link) Wink

Omg Choc lambing and snow - its crazy! Hope all goes well for them in the morning.

Zeuxippe · 22/03/2013 20:32

mummy I don't want to get your hopes up but in olden days a 'white show' was considered the earliest sign of pregnancy! How many dpo are you?

shellshock7 · 22/03/2013 20:53

mummy I've had loads of white CM since my BFP Smile

Hi tops hope you're friend is understanding and sorry you find yourself here, best of luck getting a quick BFP.

Mummytothearkbuilder · 22/03/2013 20:53

Thanks ladies - eating a creme egg so things feeling slightly better. I only got my positive opk last Friday so I'm guessing I can only be 6dpo max - I was planning on POAS next weekend.

I'm feeling a bit overly emotional about things - this will be first AF since the miscarriage in feb (long cycles) and I am getting in a right state about it - scared about how emotional it will make me and worried about whether it will be more painful / heavy than normal (have endometriosis so they are pretty bad anyway!).

Sorry for waffling - my family and friends are amazing but all they keep saying is "it will happen when it's right" so I feel like I keep all my worries inside and sometimes I feel like I will explode - it helps to come on here with you lovelies xxx

Question: After you get a dark line on OPK, does it then get fainter over the next few days?
Mine has been dark for the last few days, but slightly fainter this morning and more so this evening.
Im assuming thats the end of my fertile period, so DP can have a bit of a rest now! Wink Ill just wait now to see if AF turns up eventually.
Next friday is the earliest I could probably test, so I'll give it a go! Good Friday has got to be worth some extra luck surely?!
Mummy I was like you, but in the end, AF was a bit of a relief, kind of a line drawn, and a fresh start. Deep down I was a bit worried about conceiving before AF in case I wasnt ready, so it wasnt as emotional as Id thought it might be. Mine also wasnt overly heavy, light for a few days, heavy for 1 then tailed off over the next couple.
I also remember white CM being a symptom back when I had DS. Its not over till its over!
Baking, I didnt get BFN for a month, but then I MC naturally, so ERPC will hopefully be different.
Tops welcome. Its shit that you need to be here, but nice to have you.
Choc I am supremely envious of your DMs lambing.

LittleBairn · 22/03/2013 22:24

mummy lots of CM is meant to be a good sign!

LittleBairn · 22/03/2013 22:28

cat yes that's always how I've understood OPK, I used them the first time I TTC.

I'm going to do some extra praying I the lead up to Good Friday see if it gives me any extra favour.

fod27 · 22/03/2013 23:52

baking I found the nurses lovely and....I'm not sure if his happens in all hospitals....but I was allocated my own room due to the circumstances and DP was permitted to spend all day with me...which helped when I needed to send him out for chocolate, if a ERPC is the case make sure you take some time out for you. It only truly hit me when I was in my gown and I became hysterical..it was just so final and clinical and although I knew mt baby had gone and that it was what was best for me I still didn't want to let go, please get a doctors note and take time to rest xxxxx I really am thinking of you xxx big hugs xxxxx

voc that's a great big bag of posifrickintivity!!!! Congrats....hope your our beacon of light!!!

No fish guys but........I've been testing twice a day, my ERPC was on the 28th feb, should I be concerned? I'm really starting to think tht they have done some damage, I'm 29 and keep thinking..."is this it? Have I missed my window?"

Please help I'm going out of my mind with worry xx

Bakingtins · 23/03/2013 06:41

Hi fod I'm really hoping I don't need ERPC. I think last time it was 3 weeks to get a BFN, but GP was a bit concerned and said she'd check. Had I realised it would take a week by the time I'd had the blood and got the results I'd have said not to bother, I'll do another HPT in a week.
The GP was brilliant but the practice admin set up is laughable. It was 10 days to even get an appointment, first I was told there were no pre-bookable ones and I had to phone every morning, spent a couple of mornings not able to get through for an hour and when I did being told all the appointments had gone, then when I ranted was given an appointment for a week. Now I have a query for the GP and have been told she's not back until 4th April and they have no system to leave her a message if she is not there. Confused
Now on the other hand if you would like to bring your dog to see me you can have an appointment today, which of our 3 surgeries would be most convenient? Your blood test results will be back in 1 hour from our in-house lab or tomorrow if we send them away. You can leave a message for the vet and they will call you back later, or if they are not available could a colleague or one of the nurses help you? Wink
My old boss always used to run his own bloods on the practice machine and just send the results to his GP, now I know why!

Bakingtins · 23/03/2013 06:44

Fod I don't think it's at all unusual to have either a very long cycle or an anovulatory one post-ERPC, so try not to worry, your body will get back in the groove soon. I hope you meant you are 39 not 29 or I might as well give up now (I'm 39 later this year )

GardenWorm · 23/03/2013 08:44

Thunder and Tins (and anyone else who may have done some research into it). I got my blood results back and was told 'normal' but got a printout so I could take a look. I'll be honest I could spend a year Googling everything under the sun and already have. I was specifically worried about thyroid (symptoms and family history). They only seem to have tested TSH Levels, don't they need to factor in the T3/T4 as well???? Also I have read that in first trimester your TSH needs to be between 0 and 2 and mine is 2.3. Any thoughts please! Am worried about the link between TSH and mc Sad

CupOfTeaSandwiches · 23/03/2013 08:56

Hello,
I'm a lurker on this thread. I have popped in previously to say hello as I was wondering how you get your head round to TTC again after mc.

I thought things were going ok for me physically. I had my ERPC at the beginning of February and all went well. My period started exactly 4 weeks later and I was happy I seemed to be back to normal. That period ended 2 weeks ago yesterday, but then yesterday I started another period. Today the pain and bleeding is really bad. I did start another thread about it, but I only got one answer. I'm really thankful to the poster who replied but I'm trying to figure out what's happened to me.

Has anyone else had this? Is it normal? Feeling a bit down as trying to get my head around TTC again and now feel that my body is really all over the place. We had been TTC in the last two weeks since the first period as well. I'm feeling a bit confused and now really run down with this pain and heavy bleeding Confused.

If anyone can just reassure me I suppose that's what I'm hoping for..!

Thank you.

Bakingtins · 23/03/2013 08:59

from what I've read normal range is up to 5.5. Ideally it needs to be below 3 for optimal fertility, some experts say below 2, and if you are being treated with thyroxine they'll aim to get it below 2. It's normal to just test TSH initially and if it's abnormal do a full thyroid panel.
If it helps, when treating thyroid problems in animals we'd always aim to have over active thyroids suppressed into the bottom half of the normal range, and under active thyroids boosted into the top half of the normal range, but an untreated animal can be anywhere within the range and be fine. I'm sure at 2.3 you don't have anything to worry about. If you have double normal TSH (10-11 ish) then your MC risk is doubled, if that helps.
Why don't you ask to be retested in a couple of months or in first trimester?(forgive me you are pregnant, I've lost track after so many recent BFPs)

Bakingtins · 23/03/2013 09:03

Sorry to hear that cup of tea I think unfortunately it can take several cycles for your body to get back to normal after a MC. If it doesn't settle I'd contact GP or EPU for advice.

Thundercatsarego · 23/03/2013 09:15

MORNING ALL!

garden I am Envy of your 2.3! I second everything that wise tins says but if you have any concerns- ring em up and get another test in a few weeks time.

tins, are you a vet? Absolutely ridiculous about the treatment with your bloods. Crazy. Angry for you.

Hi tops and cup of tea, sorry you are here. tops ouch re your friend's news. Do get a message to her somehow I say.

cup I had two periods within two weeks after ERPC. I was confused and annoyed like you but after the second one things did start to get back to normal.

fod if you hadn't asked for no fish, I would have slapped you with this haddock. You need to give your body a bit more time to get back to normal. I know it's shit.

CoffeeandCremeEggs · 23/03/2013 09:24

Morning all. Sorry to see new faces and hope everyone's doing ok.

All right. I have a question.

AF showed on Thursday morning. It was early (cd25). I was pissed off.

It was very light on Thursday, overnight and Friday morning. Friday afternoon it stopped. I normally have 5 day periods, much heavier than this.

If you were me would you poas tomorrow morning or would that be insane?

Thundercatsarego · 23/03/2013 10:10

poas coffee

Thundercatsarego · 23/03/2013 10:11

When should af be due?

Topslou · 23/03/2013 10:14

So friend 1 has emailed our group of friends today to tell them she's expecting & they are all replying to all so I'm seeing all their congratulations messages. Plucked up the courage to tell friend 2 last night & she was lovely, even offering to cancel our lunch date as she didn't want to upset me. She has been ttc for over 4 years so I'm so happy for them.

In good news I received my One Direction tickets in the post this morning for when I take my niece to see them. Not sure who is more excited!

CatPussInACrownOfThorns · 23/03/2013 10:21

Definitely POAS! Smile

GardenWorm · 23/03/2013 11:36

coffee I would have probably poas by now but yes be sensible and use fmu tomorrow!

Thanks tins &thunder - will see how it goes and get a retest soon I think (everything I'm reading says in pregnancy normal is different and between 0-2. Dam you Internet!)

CoffeeandCremeEggs · 23/03/2013 11:49

All right. If the consensus is that I don't need a fish slap to the face for considering it I will poas tomorrow. (don't currently have any tests or I probably would have...)

AF should have been due today I think.

I had a light what I thought was a period but turned out not to be last time I got pg.

NOT getting my hopes up. NO.

Right, off to Superdrug.

LittleBairn · 23/03/2013 12:02

creamegg hope your POAS is the result you want. I'm hopeful for you.
