Baby George Edward was born on Sat and is now sleeping on my lap. Labour started quickly and i was in hospital within a couple of hours but then he got stuck due to his size and positioning so was eventually delivered by c-section, weighing 9lbs 14oz!

He is doing well and i am just recovering from the op but we got home today and i feel so blessed and relieved with my baby's safe arrival, after the events of last year.

So glad to hear that your scan went well polka and i have my fingers crossed for you mrshp.

Jollyb · 23/09/2013 20:07

Polka2 · 26/09/2013 11:04

Wooflippinghoooo MrsHP such great news and lets absolutely metal together - I had a metalling moment in the shower this morning where my boobs didn't seem as outrageously sore as they had been doing and I thought for 5 mins (whilst showering) I didn't feel that sick, so was "sure" it was all over............5 mins later and all morning I've been feeling sick as a dawg! Metal away!

Jollyb · 26/09/2013 14:34

Yayyyyy! So pleased for you Mrs HP. X

Redbird12 · 26/09/2013 23:29

Congrats Mrs HP, so happy for you and glad that you and polka can share your journeys together.

Hope everyone else is well, so nice to see so much good news coming out of this thread.

LCR77 · 27/09/2013 08:28

Oh polka and mrshp that's fantastic news! So over the moon for you, almost burst into tears reading this. Get your metal on girls!

Also delighted to be the bearer of more happy news.

Iris Antonia was born Sunday 15th September, 8.55am weighing 7lb 2oz at 40+6. I was induced due to gestational diabetes and ended up with emergency c section. Recovery going well but more importantly she is snuggled up sleeping on my chest. She has tons of hair, completely adorable and am totally besotted with her.

Congratulations too redbird and dorita we've come a long way since our bfps Xxx

Polka2 · 27/09/2013 09:35

LCR what great news and so glad you're recovering well (emergency csection sounds all a little scary!). Iris is a great name too - congratulations!

MrsHerculePoirot · 27/09/2013 11:50

LCR congratulations on the birth of Iris, what a beautiful name!

Jollyb · 30/09/2013 18:51

Many, many congrats LCR. I too love the name Iris (slightly biased as it is my lovely niece's name).

Redbird12 · 09/10/2013 11:40

Congrats LCR, beautiful name as well. Hope everyone else is well with new babies, pregnancies or TTC. Baby George is keeping me busy but enjoying plenty of cuddles.

MrsHerculePoirot · 11/10/2013 09:20

Enjoy the cuddles with George Red!

I had another reassurance scan on Weds at 9+5 and all was well, measuring exactly 9+5, heartbeat, wriggly bean - hurrah! Being a maths teachers, knowing that means a 99.4% chance or it being OK now has made me feel a lot better!!!!!

How is everyone else doing?

Dorita75 · 12/10/2013 08:42

That's brilliant MrsHP! Gotta love those stats!

All good here, Eleanor only woke once for a 30min feed from 10:30-6am so feeling great today!

Our friends made us some bunting for her that had referenced to things we like (Everton, Iron Maiden & Slayer for him) cycling for me and also for my love of detectives, felt images of Inspector Morse and Poirot! With quotes on the reverse so for Poirot it's Rush home for Poirot' taking in my love of Miranda too! Thought you would appreciate it, I'll try and post a pic!

Hope everyone else is doing well.
x

Jollyb · 12/10/2013 09:05

So happy for you Mrs HP. I'm not leaving this thread until baby HP arrives safe and sound.

Glad Eleanor and George are both doing well. Emily was 12 weeks yesterday.

I can't believe it but I am actually beginning to think that it would be nice to have another baby. Not sure I could face another MC or first trimester though . . .

AllBoxedUp · 15/10/2013 10:33

Hello all. I posted a few weeks ago when I found out I was pregnant and I think since then I've almost been in denial that it's happening. I just went for my booking in appointment and was in floods of tears within minutes of sitting down. I am so stressed and the booking in appointment brought everything back (that's when I was referred to the EPU for my scan in February).

I was going to come on here to ask what people thought of going for private scans. I am 10 weeks today and don't think I can bear to wait any longer without knowing. I have been feeling that my pregnancy symptoms aren't that strong and have been convincing myself things are no longer progressing. I've been really encouraged reading the latest posts though and want to send massive congrats to MrsHP. Hopefully the scan date won't take too long to come though. Congratulations to all the new mums as well for getting through to the other side!

Jollyb · 15/10/2013 14:46

Hi Allboxed . Sorry to hear you're so stressed - the first trimester can be hell.

I think many of us on the thread have had private scans as the wait til 12 weeks felt too long. I think it's a completely reasonable thing to do in our position. The argument against is that if you're going to MC there is nothing you can do. I'd counter that with saying that if I was going to MC I'd rather know - for examples one of my MCs was a blighted ovum ie an empty sac. This was diagnosed at 8 weeks - I hadn't had any bleeding and so I could have easily gone through another 4 weeks thinking all was ok.

Having said this you must remember that the odds are still well and truly in your favour, particularly as you haven't had any bleeding and the chances are that there will be a healthy little bean on your scan.

Am not sure that was much help!

Redbird12 · 17/10/2013 13:56

Hi Allboxed, i agree that it's worth paying out for a private scan for the reassurance. I also found they spent more time with me and it was a nicer experience generally.
If anything had gone wrong, i thought i would rather know sooner than later, every additional week of thinking you are pregnant and planning for a baby makes it harder if you find out it's not happening.
Getting to 10 weeks is a good sign though as jolly says, the odds are in your favour so try not to stress too much (though i know how hard this is, even after 12 week scan it wasn't long till i was stressing until 20 week scan!)
Let us know how you get on.

MrsHerculePoirot · 17/10/2013 14:00

Hi Allboxed. It is hard isn't it - my hospital do reassurance scans in those circumstances so it might be worth asking if yours do them? Have you got your date for your 12 week one now? Is it long away?

Polka2 · 17/10/2013 14:00

allboxed was your mw anyhelp about referring you sooner? My mw and dr have been great and have said (as have EPU) that I can call and come in for a scan anytime due to my history (1mmc and 2mc) and I'm 10wk5 and have had 3 scans so far and have felt alot calmer/less completely terrified about it all. If they can't help I'd definately recommend a private scan. Very good luck.
