You're a landlord Euro. Would you be so daft as to put cream carpets throughout your property and expect them to remain pristine, despite there being no central heating necessitating constant use of an open fire? Course you wouldn't! I have spent the day trying to restore said carpets to original hue with the aid of a Rug Doctor. Conclusion: impossible. Neither has he touched the place in the seven years we've been here. If he thinks he's withholding my deposit, he's got another think coming.

EuroShagmore · 06/02/2013 18:48

That's daft!

KFZK is a complete softy landlord. He replaces anything the tenant says needs replacing (which is why the current situation grates so much). I would have thought that after 7 years the carpets would need replacing anyway. You are allowed normal wear and tear. I would say this comes into that. Is your deposit in the protection scheme?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 06/02/2013 18:56

I think that came in after we started here. However, when we moved in, we had to gut the place it was so filthy. He had installed wooden doors throughout, and all the kitchen was made of wood too. Only thing was, the wood was completely untreated Hmm and the house was damp, so it was growing attractive green mould. So I went through sanding and varnishing the whole bloody place. We also had to paint. I have told him the lean to against the kitchen leaks but he hasn't done anything and now the plaster and paint in the kitchen is flaking off. A house needs some bloody upkeep, for goodness sake!

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 06/02/2013 18:58

Oh I forgot, he replaced the oven two summers ago, with the cheapest he could find obviously. Because there is no extraction in the kitchen, it's very damp (as well as because of the other things), and the oven is going rusty already.

Northey · 06/02/2013 18:59

No symptoms at all, euro. Where is the bloating I was "promised"? I even went riding this morning - not so much as a twinge. And dismounting does give the ovary area a hefty yank and bang. Well, the way I incompetently do it it does. Sod it. I might even have a proper lesson on Friday afternoon. First dildocam is Friday morning, btw, jeff. I'll have been stabbing for a week by then, and then I guess they'll tell me how long I need to carry on. How long did you stim for?

aries, cream carpets in a rented house are just INSANE.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 06/02/2013 19:23

Sorry I've been AWOL hags. Review appointment was a bit rubbish and pre-emptive freaking out by IVF is tantamount... So we probably won't for a while at least

Well done on the bloatingless stabbing norf

Hurrah again for jeffers and exciting about the scan date!

GRR about good tenants with crap landlords arie and the opposite for KFZK, euro. Ready to kick some ass, if need be [scary superman smiley]

maamalady · 06/02/2013 19:35

I have an appointment confirmation letter; 12th March is indeed an IVF appointment, our very first. I am scared, and it's over a month away. What the hell will I be like in a month's time? Hmm

Northey · 06/02/2013 19:52

You will forget about it for a few weeks and then panic, I bet. Where are you doing it?

JethroTull · 06/02/2013 20:07

North think I took stims for 8 days before first dildo cam. It was on Wednesday then I had egg collection on the Monday so it moved pretty quickly.

Rie your landlord sounds like a bit of a prick.

The actual Bruce Willis was on The One Show tonight. Made me Smile

JethroTull · 06/02/2013 20:08

Draf is your appointment with NHS clinic?

maamalady · 06/02/2013 20:39

Yep, NHS, at our local hospital. I wish the infertility gubbins wasn't in the maternity hospital bit though, it kills me every time I have to go there. The first time we went we had to hold doors open for a woman being wheeled through with a brand-new baybee. That felt like a particularly cruel twist of the knife. :(

Northey · 06/02/2013 20:46

Did you just have the one dildocam? Or did you have another on the Fri? I have one on Fri and apparently will prob have one on Mon as well. If I go at the same pace as you, it will be egg collection on Wed, a week today.

Northey · 06/02/2013 20:50

Same all over, draf. I see the problem, which is that they use the same equipment for both, and can't really afford to replicate it all on the other side of the hospital. But it is still crap. Our women's ward (where all the preg losses are dealt with) is also right by maternity. Ho hum :(

maamalady · 06/02/2013 20:54

I don't know if a separate door would help, or make me feel even more ostracised. As you say though, they need the same equipment and staff, so it's not odd really. Just painful.

JethroTull · 06/02/2013 20:55

I had 3 dildo cams. Wednesday, Thursday (where we also saw a consultant who discussed stopping the cycle as I wasn't responding well) then Saturday. On the Sat they confirmed when I needed to do my trigger which was 9pm Sat. Then they also booked me in for egg collection at 9am on the Monday. It went so quickly once the follicles had started to grow. I don't know if it's the same for everyone though.

Draf it does seem unfair to lump everyone together. Just ask lots of questions & don't let them fob you off by saying 'well there's every chance you could conceive naturally so come back in 6 months'

maamalady · 06/02/2013 21:01

They'd better not, jeff. It nearly killed me waiting since May until now, to make sure we fulfil the criteria of three years of trying. They've previously said that clomid won't help as theoretically I am ovulating, so won't let them get away with that either. If it wasn't likely to work six months ago it's not likely to work now. Going straight on the IVF list is the only thing I want, right now.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 06/02/2013 21:02

I'm very lucky, the infertility treatment clinic we are with (NHS) is in a purpose built building away from the main hospital. The consultant is based in the maternity unit though so I've had my share of awkward waiting room moments.

Not that I'm on the same meds, but I had just 9 days of drucks before I took the trigger Norf, so it can happen quite quickly. Don't forget my follie grew 7mm in 48 hours Grin

OP posts:
Northey · 06/02/2013 21:13

9 days of drucks would take me to Saturday. Which would make egg collection Monday Shock It really is going so fast.

maamalady · 06/02/2013 21:14

If we end up going private, there's a separate clinic out in the sticks not too far from us which I assume is a bit easier - no pesky differs everywhere.

JethroTull · 06/02/2013 21:31

How old are you Draf?

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 06/02/2013 21:40

7 weeks sounds like a good time for a scan jeffers.

My old landlady (student housing) liked cream carpets because it keeps the room light Confused. Living room carpet....in a student house....cream! Stand your ground rie and KFZK!

Same with our hospital, never forget the humiliating moment with my first gynae appointment when I had to go to Maternity reception re my appointment for her to say condescendingly You barren hag need to be over there, round the corner Hmm because it wasn't bad enough for that! Gynae ward can be mixed as well. I worked there (before I qualified) and sometimes we'd have women with hyperemisis waiting for terminations and those having/had terminations whilst also caring for those who were MCing. Endeavoured to keep them separate but seemed so ironic and heart breaking. I do think that needs to change.

On a more positive note, it looks like lazy is about to drop! :)

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 06/02/2013 21:41

to wave Pom poms for lazy>

I'm thirty, jeff, as is HOTB.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 06/02/2013 21:56

Sorry for ranting about carpets when there is so much follicle action happening, Hags
