The BESH are experts in all matters action, but specialise in taking out the local droids and sometimes Druids Wink

Phil Spencer is the weedy version of Kevin McCloud

Northey · 17/02/2013 22:11

I think Kevin McCloud is pretty weedy to start with, isn't he?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 17/02/2013 22:12

Ah but he speaks Italian and French

maamalady · 17/02/2013 22:15

bof, Kevin is not on my list. Hurrah! That's at least one person! Grin

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 17/02/2013 22:19

I luff Kevin, he's ace.

navis do you want introductions? Or have you been following us since the captain joined?

Northey · 17/02/2013 22:33

Oh God, AMNH is insisting on watching his fucking 80s Robin of Sherwood box set. Why am I trying to breed with this man? Robin of Sherwood. I ask you.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 17/02/2013 22:34

I didn't know such a thing existed?

Northey · 17/02/2013 22:40

Lucky, lucky you. It is AWFUL.

captainmoll · 18/02/2013 00:53

Robin of sherwood!? I'm afraid 80s Robin Hood references for me mean only one thing - the Maid Marian and her merry men kids series!

BE has his SA results appt on the morrow. I'm feeling a bit nervous about it. What happens if he has no swimmers? I looked up adoption info today. No way we'd be approved Hmm tiny boat bedsit..

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 18/02/2013 06:11

One step at a time moll. My fella's (MSB) first SA was not good. No rapids at all, low count. They eventually established a medical cause for it but even with those stats they said we'd be candidates for IVF because they could 'spin' the sperm (centrifuge anyone?) to concentrate it and get any good uns out. Last time he had a sample done was June, it was low side of normal but I got diffed in the August :) so don't panic even if its not great news. We're here to advise/support/slap you with a kipper.

norf I think you're pretty invested so I think you need to try to educate this man by making him watch Maid Marion (and her Merry Men).

Northey · 18/02/2013 06:20

Now Maid Marian and Her Merry Men I could definitely cope with!

Is there any reason to think BE will have a bad result, moll? And even of he does, like faith says, there are all sorts of natural and medical things that can be done to help - the important thing is finding out what the problem is so you can work out what help is needed.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 18/02/2013 06:38

Morning all.

Good luck with the SA results Moll

Norf do you get another call about how your Barry's are doing today? Really not sure how to put a positive spin on the Robin of Sherwood boxset. Can you hide it????

No news to report here. Temp holding steady at 15dpo. Latest droid has ever turned up is 16dpo, so we'll see what happens tomorrow. Test day is Wednesday

OP posts:
Northey · 18/02/2013 06:51

Nope, they leave them undisturbed today don't die, barryos! so I won't know anything more till tomorrow.

Temp holding steady, you say? Interesting...

captainmoll · 18/02/2013 09:57

Faith - you are quite right re one step at a time. It was more out of curiosity really, as it has crossed my mind before now anyway that it's something I'd quite like to do. I tend to want to confront all possible options as early as possible so I can see wood fer t'trees IYKWIM

Northey - I do, in that the scans and tests done on me so far have shown up nothing that might explain lack of baybees, and BE has been going through a phenomenally stressful time both at work and with family, and he does no exercise at all. I'm anticipating a low count at least. (He also had an operation on his bits and pieces when a very young child, so I'm aware there's a chance that scar tissue etc may mean there's blocked tubes in there somewhere.. )

navis176 · 18/02/2013 10:15

morning!

Faith - intros could be useful - I have been poking my nose in following every so often for a while, but not completely sure where everyone is at

Moll - good luck for the results

EuroShagmore · 18/02/2013 10:20

norf at east you are outsourcing now, so you never need to dtd with Robin of Sherwood man again.

I quite like Phil too. But tbh I think it might be the ppty porn getting me most hot under the collar.

faif I think they do actually centrifuge the sperm. It was explained to me when we had IUI but I was legs akimbo with several folks peering up my chuff so I could be wrong - I wasn't exactly in a position to take notes.

Interesting, frank, very interesting....

moll I have had every test under the sun and KFZK's samples came back at the low end of normal. I think "unexplained" is actually the biggest cause of subfertility.

I crashed out at about 9.30pm last night but still had another absolutely sh1t night. The insomnia is starting to take its toll now.

EuroShagmore · 18/02/2013 10:28

Mavis. I'm happy to oblige. I'm 37, as is KFZK (kung fu-zombie killer, after past and present hobbies). Started trying in December 2010. Went through 27 cycles of futile fvking (with some IUI, superovulation and a disasterous cancelled IVF cycle thrown in) before getting a TFP on our first natural IVF cycle. We are wholly unexplained, i.e. medical mysteries. I am currently terrrified and waiting for something to go wrong because pregnancy is just not something that happens to me.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 18/02/2013 11:23

Level temp?

I am Ariel. Sometimes they call me Aries. I am 37 and 38 in April (how the fuck can I be so fucking ancient?) TTC for three years without even a sniff of a diff. All looks normal test wise, even though it clearly isn't. MrA's swimmers are legion, though a large %age of them are going round in circles. Even so, that's still more than average, simply because there are so many of them. (Incidentally I never saw anyone look so pleased with themselves after he was told his sperm count was 160million). First round of IUI to start, oh, in about five days , after delays due to allergies and ill consultants.

Before that I need a stabbing refresher course.

Northey · 18/02/2013 11:24

mavis, I'm Northey, boyfriend is A Man Named Horse (hangover from our wild west fred. Fred=thread, btw). Unprotected sechsings since 2005ish. A whole host of interventions resulting in nothing more thantwo ectopics. Now mid way through our first ivf cycle.

Northey · 18/02/2013 11:25

Five days, rie? OoooOOOOooooh!

maamalady · 18/02/2013 11:39

Exciting stuff, rie! Also cheering encouragingly for norf's Barrys.

navis, I'm draf, I'm 30, as is HOTB (him on the bike). We've been TTC for three years and a couple of months now, passed all tests with flying colours so are "unexplained". Scans before Christmas, however, showed a large cyst that doesn't want to go away on my left ovary, and my right ovary as polycystic - none of which was the case with the first scans last March. I've been having fortnight-long droids for over six months, but am currently CD9 and it's looking like it might be going Shock I've never been even close to pregnant, but we have just been referred for IVF and go for our first appointment on 12th March, so with any luck they will crack on!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 18/02/2013 12:18

The facts about me:

I am Frankel. 31 years old and married to HWHNN (He Who Has No Name - original I know!) who is 37. TTC since May 2010 but PCOS (diagnosed April 2011) means we've only actually had about 20 cycles in that time.
5 failed attempts at Clomid and currently in my second round of ovulation induction (daily injections of FSH, follicle tracking scans but actually getting to do the sechs ourselves). Currently 15dpo and no sign of impending droid (that's BESH speak for your period). Nurses told me to test on 20th Feb, so that's what I shall do.

OP posts:
JethroTull · 18/02/2013 14:38

And I'm Jethro or more commonly Jeff.

I'm 36 and married to SSG (spreadsheet geek) who is 39. TTC for 3+ years, SSG has a rare chromosome abnormality which affects his sperm count & movement & I have ridiculoulsy low AMH - affects my ovarian reserve, basically hardly any eggs. We got lucky on the first round of IVF last month so like Euro I am tentatively diffed. First early scan is a week today. Currently shitting it.

5 days Rie? Bring on the stabbing

Frank..... not saying nuffin.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 18/02/2013 14:52

It will only be popping pills at first. Stabbing will come later.
