No more spotting yet today and the dull ache in my womble area has stopped, so I hope it was just doing some burrowing yesterday! The darker stick this morning gave me some comfort. The "problem" with IVF is that because you are taking synthetic progesterone, it can artificially make everything stick around even if it's all gone wrong, so the only guide you have that things are going the right way is the sticks/blood tests.

Euro I did not realise my odds were so low! We had a day 3 transfer. I'm not at all convinced this bean is doing anything though. No symptoms & my boobs don't hurt as much as last week. I'm trying not to think about it until the scan

jeff when is the scan and how far will you be? I am still having no symptoms, other than the hurty boobs (which could be due to the progesterone in the pessaries) and insomnia. My scan is 2 weeks yesterday. Time is moving s-l-o-w-l-y.

He's lovely frank! It's not quite on the same scale, but after looking for about a year (and borrowing KFZK's in the meantime) I have been looking for the perfect running jacket. It was delivered late last week. And will sit in the cupboard for a loooong time (hopefully). I am still exercising but I have stopped running because I hit my max heart rate quickly even on a moderate jog, so I am worried about overheating.

Yes the job is very much in his area of expertise, and just what he wanted really. A regular winter job every year to pay the bills while I take care of everything else. It's good.

That's a hell of a haircut they've given him.

He's 15.22hh. The clip is a "hunter clip", it is used for horses who do a lot of work to keep them from getting too sweaty and catching a chill. The hair is left on the legs to protect them when jumping hedges etc out hunting.

It depends entirely on the horse and how much you mind your feet being near the floor, norf! For instance, Icelandic horses are small (around 13.2-14.2hh), but very strong, and ridden by all sizes of people including tall and heavy men.

I am not quite 5'3" and prefer a horse around the 15-15.2hh sort of size, but am quite happy on anything between 13hh and 17hh, so long as the horse behaves itself and is strong enough to carry me. I look like a pea on a drum on anything bigger than 16hh, though! You'd probably be most comfortable on something around 16.2hh, but that doesn't mean you couldn't ride a smaller horse perfectly happily.

Completely fine, euro. I Have spent most of it either lying in bed or preparing an Indian extravaganza for tonight (20 side dishes sort of thing). Quite fancy a riding lesson, really, now I have been looking at photos of horses. But I don't have my kit here, and AMNH would have a fit anyway.

Agree with Euro, size of horse is totally dependent on type. I'm 5ft 6" and would usually go for anything between 15.2 and 16.2, though I have ridden bigger (from a 17.2 part Thoroughbred) and much smaller (a 9hh Welsh when I was at college, though I was about 2 stone lighter at the time!).

My sort-of SIL (BILs girlfriend) is 6ft and her horse is 15hh. She's had him since she was 14 and wouldn't part with him for the world

This is making me reminisce about my loan-pony I had as a teenager. He was 14.2hh, palomino and gorgeous, and the most fun to ride. He died about six years ago, I hadn't seen him for a good three years but I still miss him every now and then. He really knew how pretty he was, the perfect teenager's posing pony...
