Hello,

Dh and I have been trying for over 2 years and had one failed ivf (Icsi) attempt at the Argc last spring. We are going to go again in the new year.

I wondered if anyone else was planning to do the same? And whether anyone fancied joining me in 'princessing' (stolen from style & beauty :) ) for ivf?

I'm not sure what this means in terms of what I'll do, really hoping for some help in researching how to get the best eggs ever, and perhaps how to improve dh's little swimmers....

Anyone up for being a good egg buddy?

Good luck Northey and Hont.

Caip are you ok?

Sx

chocoloco1 · 19/02/2013 08:16

Morning ladies and thanks for the welcome.

Good luck for today hont and northey. hont, as grim as it sounds I went with back door for pessaries and had no issues.

Sharon I was quite excited about the drugs being delivered- all £1200 of them- that prob makes me a bit weird!

highlove I was pretty confident the 1st cycle and put my all into it, but now on 2nd cycle feel a little less so, defence mechanism I guess to protect myself.

noks I didn't do down reg as such although was on norethisterone for a week before starting. Am doing the flare protocol, started buserelin cd1 and menopur cd4. We are at BMI winterbourne hospital in Dorchester. Where are you?

euro how are you feeling?

X

Morning all,

I'm going to give the argc a call today with a view to hopefully starting this week (hurry up af), I think I'll have to do a monitoring phase again, as its nearly a year since we cycled... Exciting!!!

So...the egg fertilised too! It has 4 cells this morning, but they are going with the one that fertilised first as it was a more natural fertilisation apparently...it currently has 3 cells...how bizarre is that thought?

My appointment is at 12.30

northey thinking of you toady too...they told me not to have my pessary on day of ET, probably as I have a diclofenac bum bullet to use! I'm sure I will have the pleasure of my evening fanny candle!

Here's hoping we are both lucky!!

Xx

keepitgoing · 19/02/2013 10:10

honty wow! Will they put in both? Or wait and see if they can freeze the other? Good luck both ET ladies x

delilahbelle · 19/02/2013 10:55

Hi caip and everyone else (on phone so will keep this short)

Still spotting, boobs not sore, but my nausea has really cranked up a notch. I'm living on lemon sherbets and plain crisps with the occasional piece of fruit.
I've got no idea whether to be hopefully or not, just waiting for my scan on Friday now to see if this pregnancy is viable.

Stressful times.

Luck and good wishes to you all!

Northey · 19/02/2013 10:58

That's one magic egg, hont! What time are they doing you?

Northey · 19/02/2013 10:59

Oh. 12.30. Durr. Good luck!

delilah, how horribly suspenseful :(

Sharonbenn · 19/02/2013 11:16

Good luck ET ladies. Just think in a couple of hours you will both have your little embies safely on board. You have done so well to get this far.

If there is one thing that I have learned on this thread (apart from the delights of fanny candles and bum bullets) it is that things change all the time. Symptoms come and go and emotions rise and fall then rise again. Hang in there Delilah it has been good news so far so fingers crossed it will continue.

Hello Chocco. I'm very excited about the drugs arriving. I'm waiting for a text from my BF to let me know they have arrived. I will rush home to read the instruction leaflet for what I'm sure will be the first of thousands of times. Got my appt on Thursday to learn how to do it all. I'm so nervous about the injections. I'm trying to be more excited and positive. I don't want to start the cycle worrying and being negative.

Have a good day all. X

Dildals · 19/02/2013 11:22

sharonbenn the injections are the easy part!

Sharonbenn · 19/02/2013 11:43

Thanks dildals. I'm having hypnotherapy to help with the phobia.

Bf just called the drugs have arrived. He said 'there are some nasal sprays and some pesaries, are these for your bum?'!!!!

Is it only the jabs that go in the fridge? Do the sprays and pesaries go on the fridge as well? Apparently it isn't indicated on the box.

Sxx

Northey · 19/02/2013 11:45

For me, it was only the stimming drugs that went in the fridge. But when they dd my delivery, half the stuff was in a cool box and half was in an ordinary box. So I just put the cool box stuff in the fridge.

Sharonbenn · 19/02/2013 11:52

Thanks Northey. Especially as you have such a big day today. X

chocoloco1 · 19/02/2013 12:41

Well done on 2 fertilizing hont.
Sharon excited is good, we are investing a lot in terms of money and dreams so we should be positive about the process as much as possible, I think.
Delilah yay for feeling sick, if you know what I mean.

Afm, wishing the hours away til tomorrow
to see how follies are growing. I was determined fairly sure I wasn't going to tell many people this time, oops! Have you all told family and friends?

EuroShagmore · 19/02/2013 12:57

keep I think most clinics keep you on the progesterone until somewhere around 8-12 weeks, when the placenta takes over. I will ask at my scan appointment next week, if all is going well.

choc I'm feeling ok, thanks. The insomnia has eased slightly - I managed to sleep until 5am today. I carried on my POAS every other day this morning and the line keeps getting encouragingly darker. I might stop after one more and then wait for the 6 week scan.

I've told lots of people including family about our fertility woes (frankly it was pretty obvious after getting married at 34 when I had always maintained I wasn't bothered!). I told 4 people about the actual cycle - my 2 closest female friends who by some bizarre coincidence both have children from IVF and two other friends who have been very supportive over the past couple of years. We ended up telling Mr Euro's brother as well as he was in London on what happened to be EC day. We were supposed to be meeting him in town for a drink, but as I was a bit groggy to contemplate standing in a bar, he came to the house instead and we told him why I was feeling a bit fragile. I've been unsure as to whether or not to tell my mum and dad. My mum has been a bit odd about the whole fertility thing. She has seemed disinterested, which is odd because we are normally pretty close. And she miscarried 4 children after me, which unsurprisingly had a huge effect on her, so I'm not sure I should wish the wait to 12 weeks on her.

honty good luck for ET! I'm glad your eggs came through for you!

Norfy good luck to you too!

delilah the waiting never ends does it? For years I was waiting for a BFP, then when I got it I was waiting for it to be confirmed by a blood test, now I am waiting for the first scan. After that, I guess I will be waiting for the next scan! I hope I will be able to relax about it all one day, but it doesn't seem that way.

sharon I was the same as northey - only the stimming drugs went in the fridge.

caip and is, I'm thinking of you.

This has been a bit of an essay! Will post now and pop out to get lunch!

Northey · 19/02/2013 14:49

All done. One embryo nicely whooshed up; five more being cultured on till tomorrow to see if they make freezing grade. Apparently my age, my health and the grade of my embryo gives me roughly a 55% chance of conception. Testing on 2nd March.

Any news from hont?

Sharonbenn · 19/02/2013 14:52

Wow Northey 55% is great odds. Well done. Rest up now let Mr Northey cook you a nice dinner!

Northey · 19/02/2013 15:01

We are off out for lunch, to try and have a nice relaxing day. Create some nice happy encouraging vibes.

delilahbelle · 19/02/2013 15:53

Well done Northey! Enjoy your meal out and I hope the 2WW goes quickly. When's your OTD?

Northey · 19/02/2013 16:21

2nd March, which I think is 16 days after egg collection. The nurse said briskly "of course you may have started to bleed by then," which was a bit off putting (even though fair).

HontyTont · 19/02/2013 16:30

All done...they put both in!

Yaaaayyy....now for 2ww

Currently resting on sofa. northey well done for getting yours on board too, 55% is huge! I nearly pissed myself with my full bladder had to go and empty it a bit!

Delilah...hang in there Hun...hope Friday brings happy news

sharon I only had to keep the trigger in the fridge, it depends on the stimming drugs

euro when is your scan? How are you feeling otherwise?

choco hope the follies are developing nicely...let us know tomorrow

dildals how are things with you?

Big hello to everyone else xx

HontyTont · 19/02/2013 16:32

6th March is OTD for me....16 days after transfer. Progesterone blood test on Monday

EuroShagmore · 19/02/2013 16:36

Yay honty! Two on board! 16 days after transfer is a really long time to wait.

norfy I do think sometimes they forget how fragile we are after all we have put ourselves through!

My scan is Thursday next week, which would be 6+1, if all is well.

HontyTont · 19/02/2013 16:38

Euro what does 6+1 mean?

MewlingQuim · 19/02/2013 16:39

Hi all,

Hope you don't mind me posting. We have our first consultation for privately funded ICSI next week and reading your posts has reminded me of the living hell that is ttc Sad

I am 40. We are ttc DC2. DD was conceived by ICSI after 8 years ttc.
Can't believe I am starting on this emotional rollercoaster again.

Wishing good luck and BFP's for all of you.
