Hello,

Dh and I have been trying for over 2 years and had one failed ivf (Icsi) attempt at the Argc last spring. We are going to go again in the new year.

I wondered if anyone else was planning to do the same? And whether anyone fancied joining me in 'princessing' (stolen from style & beauty :) ) for ivf?

I'm not sure what this means in terms of what I'll do, really hoping for some help in researching how to get the best eggs ever, and perhaps how to improve dh's little swimmers....

Anyone up for being a good egg buddy?

Hi Noks

Yep am also long protocol. It's my second cycle - had first go in the autumn and it was BFN. Am not feeling great about the whole thing - we had a successful IUI in spring last year but miscarried at 8-9 weeks. But because of that, it never entered my head IVF wouldn't work and it totally knocked me for six when it didn't. Now just feeling like I can't see why this would work when it didn't last time. Not a great attitude really.

How are you feeling? Is it your first go? X

HontyTont · 17/02/2013 21:26

Nok I miss the occasion fag and vodka too....oh how are lives have changed! At least your down regging is via nasal spray which gives you a couple more weeks of freedom from the jabs...make the most of it! I was tied to being at home at 8pm so going to meet friends was difficult....although did mange a couple of work nights out where I came back and stabbed myself! Grin

HontyTont · 17/02/2013 21:27

Our.....

Nokkie73 · 17/02/2013 21:35

Honty - I wish you and your two eggs all the very bloody best of luck. Remember, one or two are all you need for it to work so keeping fingers crossed for you.

Highlove - so sorry to hear about your MC. It's just horrible and it takes all your confidence to get yourself back on your feet to try again. I take my hat off to you, luv. Are you trying or doing anything new this time round ? Will keep my fingers crossed for you this time.

It's my first go for any treatment. Am just so happy to be doing something after years of being paralysed by fear and feeling crap about not being able to conceive again. The baby envy was beginning to turn me into a raving loon !

Noks x

Nokkie73 · 17/02/2013 21:38

Honty - surely the jabs should be done whilst puffing on a Marley light and supping the finest wines ? I'm going to suggest this at the clinic.....Grin

Northey · 17/02/2013 21:40

Yeah, Tuesday, hont.

keepitgoing · 18/02/2013 03:53

honty well done on the two eggs, though I do get your disappointment. Fingers crossed they both fertilise.

I've wondered if it's something to do with my eggs. I ovulate each month, but my follies are always really big early on - like 22mm at cd11, then naturally I wouldn't ovulate till cd15 ish. Do they get too big? Are they empty? I too am hoping for some answer for ivf, though I'd prefer no answers and a bfp like euro and fairy. I think ivf can help overcome lots of minor issues euro - like slightly slow or weak sperm might not make it, it's a long way, poss hostile mucous, timing is exactly right (some people say in the wrong environment sperm only last a few hours, which gives you v little chance) and other things we may not know about. We take away a host of hurdles, though there are still plenty there...

highlove sorry you had such high hopes last cycle, must have been awful when it failed. Did you get any frosties? I am trying to see it as a three cycle thing, and not pin all hopes on this one, though if that's not an option for you it must be v tough.

I've never never never had a hint of a bfp. I think this makes me highly unusual and makes me panic when I think of it. No reason. Unexplained. It seems almost everyone has had a chemical preg, miscarriage etc.

Sorry. T-8 till I start stimming.

Hi noks!

keepitgoing · 18/02/2013 03:56

caip I'm so, so sorry. I hope you are OK. If I remember you had quite a few frosties? At least. But :(

HontyTont · 18/02/2013 06:00

keep also unexplained and never been pregnant...I hope the IvF will help overcome whatever it is

Nervous about hearing the news on fertilisation....haven't slept a wink

Xx

HontyTont · 18/02/2013 06:03

Have I missed a post from is or is she still AWOL? Hope you are ok xx

Oh yes and doctor said no sex before ET...let us do our thing! How to feel redundant!

Northey · 18/02/2013 06:22

What time will they phone you, lovely?

Sharonbenn · 18/02/2013 17:22

Hello everyone

Caip and Delilah I hope you are both ok. I'm so sorry that you are going through and awful time. It is really rubbish.

Northey good luck for ET and Honty my fingers are crossed for your 2 little ones.

Nookie, Highlove and Keep I'm also starting DRing on 28th feb at Guys. It's my 1st time after 2 yrs TTC and never been pg

Dildals · 18/02/2013 17:27

hont did any/all fertilise?

Sharonbenn · 18/02/2013 17:35

Oops I pressed send too soon!

We have saved for over a year squirreling the £s away month after month so I've got all my hopes riding on this one. I'm 42 and don't have time in my side. But I met my darling BF 3 yrs ago so this is my timing. I'm also scared witless but am hoping to feel more confident and positive before next Thursday!

My drugs arrive tomorrow all £839.54 of them.

It is good to have a few going through it at the same time.

Good luck and big hugs

Sx

chocoloco1 · 18/02/2013 18:16

Hello ladies,
I'd like to join you if I may. I'm on day 6 of stims on short protocol and have been stalking following you since the start of this thread. This is our 2nd go at ICSI after a bfn in December and in need of some support. Am kind of nervous and excited in equal measure. 1st scan on Weds to see if how well follicles are growing.

hont been checking all day for your news! Hope all ok.

highlove · 18/02/2013 18:30

Hi all,

Caip and Delilah I've been thinking of you both today - hoping you are both and that there may still be a glimmer of hope.

Honty hoping also you have good news.

Am so glad to have found some cycle buddies. Choco I'm also on cycle 2 though I'm long protocol and down-reg is a couple if weeks away yet - so you're way ahead of me. Will be watching with special interest though!

Keep no sadly we didn't get any frosties last time. With a few minor tweaks we're hoping for more eggs next time so maybe we'll get some. Would be nice to feel like we have a back-up plan. I'm like you though - slightly odd follies which seem to grow nicely but which then don't seem to ovulate when they should - I did five months on Clomid and sometimes even with a trigger shot and a perfect looking follicle, it wouldn't happen. Then when I had the IVF I didn't respond brilliantly to the trigger shot and they were only able to get eggs from about half my follicles do my consultant has doubled my trigger shot this time, which is normally only done for quite overweight ladies. (I'm not.) God, the level of bloody detail we know about our bodies!

HontyTont · 18/02/2013 21:49

Hi all,

1 egg fertilised! They are putting it back in tomorrow!

Northey we are going to be ET buddies! What time are booked in for? I won't find out until morning.

I'm planning on going to work Wednesday is this a bad idea?

I'm nervous, excited, sad, happy...don't know what to feel! Maybe this is my lucky embryo

Welcome choc

Thanks everyone for checking up on me and my embryo news

One question....I'm getting a lot of errr...gunk...from the pessaries, so much that I wonder if any actually gets absorbed. Is this normal?

I've just had my first fragmin injection too and it bloody hurt! Much thicker needle than the ones they give you at the clinic for Merional. I hope I don't cut myself...with the fragmin and aspirin I've got to start taking tomorrow I will never stop bleeding!

Xx

EuroShagmore · 18/02/2013 21:55

honty that's great news - the same as me - two eggs, one fertilised, one to go back! Good luck for ET!

I took the train straight back to the office on ET day. It was a Friday though, so I got two days off after that, but I didn't feel I needed it particularly and just carried on as normal.

The gunk is normal. I think most of the pessary is an oily carrier, and that is what comes out. My temps have stayed nice and high, so there must be progesterone there. I have worked out a time twelve hours apart when I don't have to move much for a while after putting it in-for me that is one just before bed and the other after my morning commute when I first arrive at the office and am just sitting quietly at my desk, checking email.

Welcome choc. I've found this thread a great support.

I hope you are doing ok caip, and that isa got the result she wanted.

Nokkie73 · 18/02/2013 22:11

Honty - well done ! You must be so relieved. It's brilliant news. All the best for tomorrow.

Sharonbenn - my drugs have been in the fridge for two weeks now. Am glad to be using them now. I cannot believe how much so few drugs cost ! Just hope they do the trick. Grin

Hi Choc. Who are you with ? How have you found down regging ?

Hi to everyone else. Hope you are all ok.

Noks x

Northey · 18/02/2013 22:37

Fantastic news, honty! I am being done at 2pm...

Northey · 18/02/2013 22:52

PS I have just done my penultimate bum bullet! After ET tomorrow, I can switch to the front entrance, thank fuck!

Nokkie73 · 19/02/2013 00:14

Good luck Northey. X

keepitgoing · 19/02/2013 01:39

Phew honty I got worried when we didn't hear from you... iOTO!!

highlove got, the triggers another thing to worry about. How frustrating for you after all the drugs that they couldn't get all your eggs! None of my doctors are interested in my musings - they don't believe me I wouldn't ov naturally for a few days, just see nice fat follies... So maybe ivf will give an answer?

euro you're still on progesterone? How long for? Are you managing to relax at all, told anyone yet?

Hi choco good luck for tomorrow!!

honty and north good luck for ET, and the dreaded 2ww, though it'll be less than that I guess.

CaipirinhasAllRound · 19/02/2013 07:06

Good luck everyone today

delilah how are you? Thinking of you x

Northey · 19/02/2013 07:09
