Hello,

Dh and I have been trying for over 2 years and had one failed ivf (Icsi) attempt at the Argc last spring. We are going to go again in the new year.

I wondered if anyone else was planning to do the same? And whether anyone fancied joining me in 'princessing' (stolen from style & beauty :) ) for ivf?

I'm not sure what this means in terms of what I'll do, really hoping for some help in researching how to get the best eggs ever, and perhaps how to improve dh's little swimmers....

Anyone up for being a good egg buddy?

What's your clinic honey?!

If that's like doxy then yes, you prob won't want to stay on it post EC, but the half life is short. Ask the clinic, def.

keepitgoing · 16/02/2013 13:18

honty, not honey, sorry, I've not gone all lovey dovey...

Dildals · 16/02/2013 14:25

71% success rate? Which clinic is that?!

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 18:05

Euro I'm taking the vib to prevent infection at EC time
I have some fragmin already which I think I need to start the day after EC as well as aspirin!

Northey · 16/02/2013 18:08

God, it's so random what some clinics prescribe and others don't!

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 18:19

keep yes vibramycin is doxycycline

My clinic is CRGH in London...I go to UCLH RMU for bloods and most scans to get funded for CRGH

71% success in under 35 fresh egg transfer....saw it in the poster when I went for my scan the other day. Will check full details tomorrow when I'm there

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 18:22

I know northey it's so random....I wonder if it has anything tobdobwith NHS vs. private...which are you?

Good luck for fab news tomorrow morning...hopefully I will be able to log on from the hospital

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 18:23

To do with!

Northey · 16/02/2013 18:29

NHS. We get one round. And people living in the next pct get 3 :(

I am immensely farty today. Is it the suppositories? Is it going to last as long as I am on them?

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 18:46

I get 2 or 3 I think....but with PCTs moving to CCGs I'm not sure if that's going to change

I am not looking forward to these pessaries!

Northey · 16/02/2013 18:50

I loathe them, I must say. I can't wait till I can do them vaginally instead.

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 18:50

This one will be positive for you....you won't need another cycle northey

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 18:51

I know I read it...but I forgot why you can't...is infection?

Are you not on antibiotics?

Northey · 16/02/2013 19:07

It's because the clinic likes a clean foof for embryo transfer, with no bits of gungy old wax hanging around in the way.

Nope, not on anything except the bum bullets.

EuroShagmore · 16/02/2013 19:18

I was prescribed Doxy for my HSG (but didn't take it - after slowly improving after years of IBS I preferred to take the risk of an infection to the liklihood of my IBS taking a turn for the worse; luckily I was fine). I wasn't prescribed antibiotics for EC, save for one suppository to be inserted after the procedure (which again I declined, and was luckily fine). There really is a huge difference between clinics. I hate taking prophylactic antibiotics, so I'm glad my clinic wasn't pushing them. (I'll happily take them if I actually have an infection though.)

norfy yes, it's the bum bullets. BTW, it gets worse if the IVF actually works. I was a human whopee cushion last week. Lunges and squats in the gym were VERY hazardous indeed. My bum muscles got an excellent work out from all the clenching. I'm just glad most people are plugged into headphones. Blush I infinitely prefer taking them as pessaries, despite the fallout and the amount I am spending on sanitary protection (a word of warning, they leave nasty oily marks on your best undies if you don't use a towel thick enough).

Oh the things we go through...

Northey · 16/02/2013 19:24

Oh God. Sigh. It will all be worth it...

Northey · 17/02/2013 08:18

Good luck this morning, honty. Fingers crossed for an impressive clutch. What time are they doing you?

Can someone talk to me about feeling as though I'm starting a UTI? Is this A Thing, or have I actually got one? I am weeing all the time, and feeling like my bladder is a lot fuller than the actual amount of wee would suggest.

Also, my boobs are killing me. Is this the progesterone? I'm having to sleep in my bra to stop my nipples brushing the sheet. Ow!

delilahbelle · 17/02/2013 08:38

Think it's over for me, not hugely suprised with all the spotting I've been having.
Bright red spotting.
Boobs back to normal, not even slightly sore.
Hot flushes (always get these before AF)
Cramps getting worse.
And I bounced out of bed this morning, no nausea tiredness or anything.

Dammit.

HontyTont · 17/02/2013 08:45

Thanks northey just changed into my gorgeous standard issue gown and awaiting instructions! Am booked in for 2pm so not sure why I need to be here now but hopefully they will whizz through us.

I know it only takes one but I'm hoping for a good harvest!

Sounds like you are having a bit of a rough time I wish I could advise but seeing as I'm not there yet a I can only send hugs...Smile

Northey · 17/02/2013 08:46

Shit, delilah. Is there anything you can do other than sit and wait?

Northey · 17/02/2013 08:48

My God, you'll be ready for your post procedure tea and biscuits by then!

Clinic just called to say that all 7 are still going - 5 graded as good and 2 slightly slower. ET on Tuesday.

fairypangolin · 17/02/2013 08:48

So sorry delilah maybe double up on the progesterone? hug

HontyTont · 17/02/2013 08:51

Oh deliliah are you sure?

I'm sorry to hear that Sad

Big hugs xx

HontyTont · 17/02/2013 08:53

Good luck today anyone that needs it!
