Hello,

Dh and I have been trying for over 2 years and had one failed ivf (Icsi) attempt at the Argc last spring. We are going to go again in the new year.

I wondered if anyone else was planning to do the same? And whether anyone fancied joining me in 'princessing' (stolen from style & beauty :) ) for ivf?

I'm not sure what this means in terms of what I'll do, really hoping for some help in researching how to get the best eggs ever, and perhaps how to improve dh's little swimmers....

Anyone up for being a good egg buddy?

Definitely 4...potentially 7

HontyTont · 15/02/2013 22:06

I hope it's more than 4 after this long wait!

Dildals · 15/02/2013 22:15

honty but they are controlling our ovulation, so we cant get pregnant anyway with the super follies until the triggerrrrrrr shot. Who knows ...

Had my second curry of the week today, defo pregnant with curry now. I am such a catch.

HontyTont · 15/02/2013 22:18

That's what I thought dildals....I'm just confused by the whole thing!

HontyTont · 15/02/2013 22:21

Question....the lining is getting all cushiony and cosy for an embryo...what's stopping the period after EC?

Dildals · 15/02/2013 22:21

Good news on the EC btw honty!

Dildals · 15/02/2013 22:23

The hormones produced by the implanting embryo plus those excellent pessaries that have been giving us all so much joy?

delilahbelle · 15/02/2013 22:27

The progesterone honty from the pessaries, then when we stop them from the corpus lutem, taken over by the placenta between 8-10 weeks.

HontyTont · 15/02/2013 22:31

Thanks you knowledgeable bunch!
I have a whole heap of pessaries already and waiting
Can't wait to join the glamourous ranks of those of you that are experiencing bum bullets and pussy plugs!
Oh the joy Grin

Northey · 15/02/2013 22:44

Speaking of pessaries, I have decided i am really not a fan of the back door...

HontyTont · 15/02/2013 23:16

Did you take the trigger shot in the tummy where you did all the other shots?

Northey · 15/02/2013 23:18

That's where I did it.

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 00:44

Thanks

Northey · 16/02/2013 05:24

How did the trigger go, honty? Are you glad to be at the end of all the injecting?

I do hope is is ok.

keepitgoing · 16/02/2013 07:04

isabeller thinking of you xxx

Hi all - been out of commission for a few days with cold and work, also so tired been going to bed by 9, so not a lot of free time.

northey7 out of 7 embryos is fantastic! V good odds for blastocyst I think.

hont good luck w EC, glad to hear your follicles have come along.

delilah that second HCG sounds great, I wa quite tempted to try to get my clinic to do one for me but I figure with no spotting or unusual cramping I should just assume everything is fine. Same symptoms really, sore breasts, fatigue, weeing all the time, waking up too early. No nausea yet although I do feel a bit different in terms of my tastes. Hope you don't worry too much with the continued spotting, but I understand how stressful it must be.

dildals my clinic said no sex from stimming (because of v small risk of spontaneous ovulation) until pregnancy test and then not til week 7 if there is any elevated miscarriage risk. Haven't felt like it AT ALL since about day 5 of stimming to be honest and luckily DH has been under the weather so I don't feel cruel.

Sorry if I missed some people's news! Nice to see some newcomers.

delilahbelle · 16/02/2013 08:33

Hi fairy I hope you get over your cold soon.

Well my boobs are reassuringly tender today, I just can't lie on my front in bed any more. I have also woken up feeling a bit sicky, hopefully a good sign.

DH won't be getting any from me for a while - we had planned to DTD yesterday, but after I spotted again that idea was off.

Dildals · 16/02/2013 09:43

fairy yes i figured that much afterwards, that it must be for the off chance you ovulate despite the cetritide. When does your clinic consider there to be an elevated risk of miscarriage? I am still puzzled how different clinics can have such different guidelines, it is not as if mine is a 'bad' one or new at it.

EuroShagmore · 16/02/2013 09:48

My clinic didn't give any advice about sex during stimming. We last did it a couple of days before EC, in a "clear the pipes" shag. I also considered it insurance, in case of spontaneous ovulation. But there was no risk of multiples in my case.

My symptoms are just insomnia and sore boobs. Nothing more than that. In one way good, but I guess we can't help worrying! I'm weeing on sticks every other day (I figure if HCG levels are supposed to double every 48 hrs or so, I should see a nice graduation in colour if all is going well.

Good luck for EC honty.

isa I hope you are doing ok.

caip how are you today?

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 12:18

Thanks for all your good wishes for EC...trigger was fine, am very happy to have a break from feeling like a pin cushion! Grin

Although my nurse said in passing when if I get pregnant I will have to take more injections....what's all that about? I haven't asked as I just want to take it one step at a time, one hurdle after another...but now I'm intrigued

It is amazing how all these clinics differ in their advice about sex, the different protocols, drugs, scan times and frequency etc. but I guess as we are all different there are going to variances and they do what has be shown to work best for them

My clinic has a 71% success rate so I'm listening intently to what they say!

DH has just made me a lovely bacon and cream cheese bagel and a peppermint tea....going to take it easy today and prep for EC tomorrow

Hope everyone else is having a good day

northey will you get another update today about your embryos?

Is really hope you are ok

fairy hope you are feeling better and I'm glad I'm not the only one that was no sex!

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 12:23

dildals after reading your article I think we will maybe give it a go sometime between EC and ET....

What are the groups thoughts on that? I've been taking vibramycin for a week and have another week course to go after EC so infection risk will be low

I will of course ask the clinic but it would be good to get a consensus from you all

Thanks

HontyTont · 16/02/2013 12:27

Now I'm worried....I thought vibramycin was harmful to the development of a foetus and I have just checked and it is....how am I supposed to continue to take this? Maybe they will tell me to stop before ET?

I'm doing my head in now....will just have to ask tomorrow

EuroShagmore · 16/02/2013 12:40

honty I think a lot of clinics put you on Clexane (blood thinner). I declined and just went for aspirin. A 71% success rate is amazing! What are you taking the vibramycin for, if you don't mind me asking?

Northey · 16/02/2013 12:55

I am a bit paranoid about foof infection (since a bout of PID which I blame for the tubal failures), so am steering clear of anything at all, hont.

Next embryo update is 8.30am tomorrow.
